I had a cough and she referred me for a chest xr then a cat scan of the lungs, finding a small nodule. the said it was nothing to worry about and they'd do a repeat cat scan in 6 months. When i asked her for a 2nd opinion she obviously didn't know i was an RN , myself, and she told me I didn't have the right to a second opinion. She was obviously feeling insulted and insecure. I told her that was fine that I would just contact my insurance carrier and get another Dr. to give me a second opiniont. she just tripped over her tongue trying to change wha she had said the. I might also ad that she knew i had had another car last march and they thought they saw a nodule then, but she never even asked for nor sent for the findings to use as a comparison. what she should be doing is referring me to a surgeon or a pulmonologist for follow up on this cat scan result of a module in my long.
