The selection of starters is yummy; they don't change much, so you better get a favorite. The beer glazed pork belly and the black pearl scallops are my pick, in all of their different incarnations. The portions are fair sized and won't leave you too full too early. For the mains, I usually go for the rump steak or the ribeye. You have a choice of sauces, some great and some not so much; but the garlic butter is still the best. You also get amazing fries + a whole wedge of lettuce covered in blue cheese sauce and parmesan shavings. In the days when I'm really not into cow I go for the chicken with cheese and pancetta crumbs. Some orders (the steaks and the chicken, for example) will get you a slice of something called "onion loaf", basically a lump of caramelized onions fried in a bit of batter? Sounds odd, but if your choice of mains doesn't come with it then order it anyway. Trust me. After stuffing yourself with protein walk into the Epping forest surrounding the restaurant to burn some calories and breathe some fresh air... Just ignore the roundabout noise and enjoy. :)

Something like soy and sesame oil might have been nice. Squid - delicious. Crispy, not chewy, the lemon was nice. Perfect. Chicken in a jar - one of our Bill's favourites. My husband orders this almost every time. It's buttery and smooth & delicious. Should come with more toast as we can never finish the jar! The chutney that comes with it is also delicious. My favourite part, in fact. Mains - piri piri chicken. This was the best thing I've had at bill's. It was delicious. I don't usually order chicken, but we wanted to try something from the grill and it was too early for red meat. It was smokey, a little spicy, the sides were perfect. Winner. Sea bass - as recommended by our waiter - this was given a 10/10 by our table. Cod & chips - the fish was over cooked but the batter wasn't crispy, the mushy peas were barely warm. But the pickled onions went down well. Overall a good dish. Bill's burger - consistently good. Good that you. Can request it medium or well done. Always well seasoned and this time was no exception. From the tiny salt and pepper shakers to the chillis hanging from the ceiling. A lot of attention to detail. The drinks menu looks like one of the best - normally non-alcoholic drinks consist of coke or lemonade but it was nice to see some different variations. One of my friends ordered a pink lemonade that looked so good! There was a rhubarb drink on there I would like to try sometime. I wasn't driving so ordered the Hedgerow Fizz cocktail - it was yum! Would recommend! I skipped starters and went straight in for the main. I ordered the Halloumi and Hummus burger with fries. Delicious and would definitely order again! I do like a veggie burger but sometimes find them quite dry - this was not. This was one of the best veggie burgers I've had. For dessert I ordered a mango sorbet. This was yum but I think I would have liked to have seen a few more flavour options. My sister in law had the mini cinnamon doughnuts with chocolate sauce so I think I will have that next time.
