Went in like 10 minutes before they closed because we needed milkshakes and were very surprised to see people still ordering full meals at that time. It was still a bit of a line after us also. I ordered the cherry blossom milkshake for their seasonal treat and it was delicious. A nice cherry milkshake with little chocolate bits on top. My first experience here was okay. I got the chicken bites and a craft beer. Although the chicken bites were very tasty, they were also overpriced in my opinion. Almost fifteen dollars for ten not-so-big chicken bites and one drink. The craft beer selection could be better as well. On top of that, at least in this location, there were no electrical outlets that I could find near any of the seats. It was good, pretty much my go to anytime I'm at a shake shack. Brothers got the Shack Attack & the Cookies & Creme shake, definitely the highlight of trip. All in all the food was good. I would not recommend this restaurant or any others. All I can is wow... the price, size and value are the worst in the area...my total meal for two people cost $40 and all we got was two burgers, two drinks, and a shake in a Game of Thrones (GOT) " souvenir" cup. The quality of the GOT cup is one that likely, even after hand washing, will disintegrate after its first use. Correction it cracked in the resultant while I wrote this....see picture...lol. The burgers were small for $10 each. For the I expect between 1/2 lb - 1/3lb burger after cooking and fries. No sides are provided for the price. Every other burger restaurant has a better value (McDonald's, Burger King, five guys, checkers, burger shack, or any other competitor). The $2.5 for a 10oz soda is a bit much but a least you get a refill. The price, quality, and value all missed the mark. Customer service was on point for a place you basically serve your self. Drink refills were slow even after the walk to the bar. For the price they better be giving their employees Starbucks benefits because its clearly overly expensive too. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant. This location has always treated me well. Yes, it can get a little packed at times, especially if you go during game days, but the food always comes out fresh. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Yet another HORRIBLE experience. Foolishly, we decided to give this location a second chance while we are sheltering in place. We placed our order via Caviar. The food arrived promptly, but that's about all that went right. We ordered two double Shack burgers with everything (cheese lto and pickles). We received two single burgers, one with cheese, one without, both with no lettuce, a single sliver of onion and a tomato. They were so small, they looked like something from a kids menu. And they were so well done, they were barely edible. We called to complain and no one answered. We left a detailed message for the manager and have yet to receive a reply. We're done. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location. I don't know if it's a management issue or the staff, but the service and quality of the food are ABYSMAL. read more

My colleague took me to lunch here on the first Friday of August 2022 as a "welcome" to my new job. I was impressed with the food. I am not a vegetarian, but I really liked the fried portobello mushroom burger. The fries were crinkly and crispy. I was surprised at how not busy it was--perhaps because it's the summer still? All the tables were STICKY... yes, a non-slip surface... but DIRTY STICKY. As in the staff does not make any real effort to clean them and the nastiness just piles up. 3.5 stars. My sister and I stopped by on a Thursday evening and there was little to no line, which is always a plus. We both ordered the single shackburger and one order of bacon cheese fries. There was plenty of seating, so we grabbed a booth and proceeded to wait well over 10 minutes for the buzzer to go off. There were 2-3 people in front of us, which certainly doesn't merit that kind of wait time - particularly for "fast food." I was on the verge of walking back to the counter to inquire about our order when the buzzer finally went off. I picked up the food and noted the kitchen staff didn't appear to be working with any sense of urgency- I'll leave it at that. The food itself was what I've come to expect from Shake Shack - burgers were cooked well, and they weren't stingy on the bacon and cheese for the fries. At one point, a homeless man walked in from the rear entrance and went table to table asking for money; while we were sympathetic, it was awkward and would've been nice to have an employee or manager keeping a better eye out. This is a most welcome addition to the neighborood. I swear, with each passing day it gets even better living in the Navy Yard. :) So, before this opened the only place you could get Shake Shack was by doing the one in the stadium during a game. Which is always awesome but sometimes you want Shake Shack when not watching baseball, just on a random Friday or something. So when this opened both my gf and I were very happy. The food is pretty standard Shake Shack which is, to say, delicious. We usually get a lot of food, because it's too good to miss out on, so i get a double shack, cheese/bacon fries, and we split a hot dog. If I really want to treat myself I'll get a root beer float. You pretty much can't go wrong. There is also plenty of seating and even TVs which not every Shake Shack has. Perfect if a game is on. Minus one star as sometimes the staff is confused about an order/overwhelmed depending on the day and who you get. I've had a few awkward interactions, they also should stop getting the buzzers until the food is ACTUALLY ready - I have to stand around for a few minutes sometimes after having had my buzzer go off waiting for them to finish the food. This location is conveniently placed by the Navy Yard Metro stop! I went inside to grab something quick to eat. It was around rush hour traffic time I believe. I ordered the chicken nuggets, french fries and a lemonade. My entire order was terrible!The food was extremely salty to the point where I could not consume the food the way it was given to me. The lemonade was terribly sour. Although I felt I wasted my money, I was too exhausted to deal with this, so I was throwing it away in disappointment. As I stood by the trash can, an employee noticed what I was doing. I believe he was a manager. He insisted on helping and had the kitchen remake the fries. They were way better! This was not one of the better Shake Shacks that I've visited. I'm not sure if some of the employees were new, but I came here twice and both times they were really slow in completing orders. Other than that, the food was standard for a Shake Shack. You will most certainly find their burgers to be good, but pricey. You could easily spend about $20 for 1 person here. The higher cost can be justified by the fact that they use better ingredients than other fast food burger restaurants. SHAKE SHACK!!!!!! I was soooooo happy to have Shake Shack enter the neighborhood. I dont eat red meat but that chicken sandwich is to die for. I visited here one day for lunch during the 1st couple of weeks, I was not disappointed! My only issue is that it closes too early. Some nights The Big Stick and Bonchon close their kitchens at 10pm, it would be epic to have a late night option for food on this block. I've seen plenty of hotel guests from the new Homewood Suites come down for a late night bite and are super disappointed. I still love you Shake Shack! Perfect for a cheat day. read more

Two sandwiches, small fries and 1 small soda came out to $25. The sandwiches are much smaller than the pictures too. Didn't really fill me up. Soda was also 50% ice. Refills were free but you have to go back to the counter and bother them to refill it for you. I like self serve soft drinks. Crispy is the key word here, both the chicken sandwich breading and the fries fries were both very crisp and delicious. The chicken sandwich comes with pickles, lettuce and herb mayonnaise, however i ordered mine with pickles only. I will say that the chicken was under season, but the flavor could be enhanced if you choose to keep the herb mayo. The fries are crinkle cut, which I typically don't enjoy, but these were by far the best I have had. The fries are extremely crispy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. Well it's shake shack. Sometimes I skip the burgers for the chicken sandwich. I really love it. I still have yet to try a lot of things on their menu but eventually I will. The wait is a little long, but they are making tour food fresh to order. When it's packed people tend to wait at the counter and stand in the way, and sometimes I wish the staff would convey that "hey there are plenty of people in front of you" ...move. I know they can't do that but it would be nice to have that told to folks. It would make things run a lot smoother. As the restaurant has been there for a bit. I wish the staff cleaned the tables and chairs a little more. I came in there one time to smell what seemed like old bucket water. I haven't smelled it sense, but that attracts gnats and I wasn't there for that. I ended up taking my food home because it was very annoying to swat them away from my food. Other then that, everything else is good. Arnold Palmer (50/50) is always delicious and consistent. The double burger is my favorite. I really loved the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich they had on the menu and I wish that was more perm on the menu. I also miss their old fries too. :( read more

This is my favorite shake shack location. Been coming here once or twice a week for a few months now and haven't had a bad experience.
