It's pretty new, and everything is attractive, clean, and modern. I uploaded a bunch of photos, so check those out! Upon entering the hotel you'll see the beautiful lobby ahead of you, and a very nice pub to your left. They've got a nice sized elevator and a staircase to your right - so you won't have to struggle with lugging your luggage up to your room. Now, how about those rooms!? Each room has a single bed and a double bed, a dresser, desk, sitting table, and a couple comfortable chairs. The bathroom is absolutely beautiful - clean, modern, and stocked with Gilchrist and Soames toiletries. You'll also get more towels here than in your average European hotel room - no complaints about that! Each day, you'll find that your stock of coffee, milk, sugar, and cookies has been replenished by the wonderful housekeeping staff, so you can wake up to a hot cup of coffee, or relax with one if you're taking a break in your room later in the day. In addition to the public bar off the hotel's lobby, there is also a full service restaurant in back. I believe that the continental breakfast comes standard with your room, and you can choose to get a full Irish hot breakfast as well. I would also recommend stopping in for dinner - the rack of lamb I had one night was the best meal I had in Ireland. Absolutely delicious. Front desk staff were unfailingly polite, helpful, and friendly - if I ever make it back to Downings, I wouldn't have to think twice about where to stay. Downings Bay Hotel all the way!

The area is beautiful, lush farmlands everywhere.. the beach is spectacular, we went down on a cold but dry day, not long after the rains had stopped, and i got an idea how beautiful it would be on a hot summers day. we where 2 mins away from the beach, our room window looked onto teh caravan park and the seas just behind. The food and service in the bar was spectacular (so where some of the prices hehehe) You are about 5 mins away from the Atlantic drive, which lasts about 15 mins and on some parts you look as though u are about to drive straight into the atlantic! I liked this place soo much taht i am going to try and go back in the summer Only reason it is getting 4 stars is the room doors, they slam shut and make an awfull bang, didnt notic eon the Thursday night as it was only us and 1 other guest staying, but at the weekends the hotel gets busy due to the 2 golf courses near by and small groups of 'partys' and when these partys where going from room to room, the doors always banged, giving you a fright and on a few occassions, waking my toddler up

Our room was air conditioned ( not all in Ireland are) and we were served well by the bartender in the evening and for breakfast. They had a nice selection of breakfast options including salmon and scrambled eggs. Good coffee, fine linens, overall a place I would return to.

The Shipquay is located in a gorgeous Italianate-style-listed heritage building that comprises a wealth of magnificent boutique hotel rooms. Our Superior Double Room had a beautiful and comfortable king-sized bed that was stylish and sophisticated. We enjoyed the amenities, such as the walk-in shower and the castiron tub that my wife and I loved immensely. They had complimentary WiFi and robes and slippers for us to wear in the morning and at night that was quite comfortable. The restaurant on the lobby floor provided us with delicious eats for breakfast and dinner, with refreshing and tasty cocktails, all in a stylish and contemporary interior that was our speed. The hotel is close to everything for site seeing and visiting attractions. There are tons of restaurants and bars within walking distance to enjoy. And if you want to stay indoors for the night, you have the restaurant and bar or speakeasy that's on-site. There are shopping centers everywhere, including one next store if you need to pick up some clothes, souvenirs, or just want to take a gander through. Overall, this is the place to stay when in Derry, and we will do so again upon our next one.

The dining room is cosy and modern with a flat screen tv displaying a constant video of a fish tank which is quite relaxing. My meal came the chips were better than last time the chicken goujons were ok but I wasn't keen on them, the garlic dip was nice but the crunchy pieces of garlic were a bit much, the side salad was nice but they didn't put any dressing at all on it so it was a bit bland. Nice hotel , nice decor, prices are reasonable. Steps entrance to front or ramp entrance to the side. The food has improved a bit from last time but I wouldn't be in a rush to get something to eat in the Adelphi, good place for a quick drink though, bottles of wine from £9. Parking on street. Free WiFi in hotel.

I wrote in our reservation notes the night before asking if we could check in a little early to get ready for our wedding and within an hour of submitting, their staff called and told us they would be more than willing to help out! We arrived to this adorable nestled hotel and checked in with ease. The moment we got to our room, I honestly shed tears of joy. Not only was the view of the coast breathtaking, but the incredible staff here had complimentary champagne waiting for us! We had an amazing wedding day and headed back to the Adelphi to inquire about fun spots to visit in town. They directed us to the Springhill pub down the street where we were greeted by an amazing group of soon to be new friends and had pint after pint in celebration. The next morning we headed down to breakfast and were so pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the staff was to our dietary needs! This was the first place on our entire trip that was able to give us the full Irish breakfast catered to our vegan diets. They even went so far as to put together a breakfast in bed tray for us to take up and snack on while we packed up. I cannot rave enough about this perfect hotel and hope anyone that reads this review heads up to Portrush to check it out. We will definitely be coming back every year to celebrate and will be sure to stay at the Adelphi! Thank you all again for your amazing hospitality!!
