I came here about a week or two ago with some friends after work. It was pretty packed, but luckily there was a table available for 3 when we passed by. There was only one dish I ordered, so I can only really comment on that and the service. I ordered the jjam jja myun, a combination of black bean noodles (jja jang myun) and spicy seafood noodles (jjampong). For $16, it was pretty worth it. I got a good amount of noodles for both. I liked the jja jang myun. There was enough sauce to cover all the noodles, plus a lot of meat and onions in the sauce, though I would prefer the onions slightly more cooked. The jjampong was a lot spicier than I could handle. I had to use the other noodles to fight off some of the spiciness. There was a good amount of seafood in the broth, with large prawns, small shrimp, mussels. Just with this dish, I was more than full. Good customer service. Even though we had slightly overstayed after we were done eating, the staff were really polite and kindly asked if we could make room for another customer. There was outdoor dining when I went. I've been here a few times and thought I'd written a review previously, but I'm not seeing it. It's definitely deserving of some praise! Quick caveat: I was here during early dinner hours, so I don't know how the late night service compares. First to the food. It's really good! I've tried this style of food all over and this stacks up nicely. They extract their own noodles, so that's huge in my book. They just taste better! The other thing I love is that you can create various combinations! As a solo diner, sometimes I want a taste of various dishes. This place gives me what I want without having to pay for three separate entrees! Today I ordered the Jjam-jja-tang (pictured), a combination of Jjajangmyun, jjambbong and tangsuyuk. Each of the separate elements was good on its own, but wow, I love the combo! There's plenty of variety for those who want other options. Being a Korean-Chinese restaurant means that many traditional Chinese dishes have been adapted to the Korean palate. They even have Vietnamese Pho. Ambiance can be described as traditional, Korean drinking house (which helps explain their late operating hours e.g. 5am on Friday night/Saturday morning), meaning a place for friends to gather, share a beverage and food, but it certainly holds its own as a regular restaurant too. Literal side note: the kimchi was SO good!! Perfectly seasoned and tart, but not overly fermented. My friends and I discovered this place that is open 24/7 after a night of partying in the K-town area. 2 things that we would order here are beef pho and pepper shrimp. Do not expect the beef pho to be the most authentic Vietnamese pho, but it is a good bowl of beef noodles with pok choy included. The star of the meal is their pepper shrimp. I did not expect their pepper shrimp dish to be this good, the shrimps are battered and deep fried, they are crispy and tossed into stirred fried peppers and onions. The hint of pepper is not too overpowering and it is not saucy like how most places would prepare it. Overall, I would recommend this place for a meal after partying in the area if you would like to avoid the normal BBQ places that are also open 24/7 or late. My go-to for jia jang myun! I have been coming here for over a decade for late night jia jang myun and absolutely love it! Their noodles are nice and chewy. Who can say? Moving on to the bulgogi. Bleh. Yuck. Gag. It came out with thin shaved fatty meat that had zero flavor. How do you manage that? But they did get that grease puddle. It's a thing, apparently. Well, that was the closest to edible thing they served us. I was eating with a person who has no real ability to discern the quality and taste of food and even they were like wtf? How do you justify charging $19 for vegetable bibimbap and $34 bulgogi and fail to make it edible? With so many options nearby, don't do it. The insult to injury was the sour (in a bad way) kimchi. Craving Jjampong and was scouring all the menus in K-Town to find where sold it on a Sunday night. Shanghai Mong had all their menus displayed out in the front outdoor seating area and was beautifully lit. They had Jjampong and also Jjamja Myun which is 50/50 Jjampong and Jajangmyun which is usually my go-to. Since it was my first time ordering, I wanted to try just the jjampong. I walked in and was promptly greeted by the manager/owner boss lady and decided to order to-go. She took care of me promptly, I paid and waited outside for around 15-20 minutes. When I got home, I was shocked at how big the container was!! It was like a half-gallon plastic container, I kid you not. I actually transferred it into a glass tupperware and confirmed it was able to fill two entire 4-cup tupperware containers. So much seafood too! Mussels, clams, squid, and head-on shrimp. Flavorful broth and plenty of noodles. I ended up saving the broth and re-cooing it with other noodles/ingredients for the next 2-3 days. I know it's Korean-Chinese but really nice waitstaff, attentive service and good food! Will be back when I want more Jjampong :) read more

This place is definitely a go-to for college-aged people like myself. It's one of the few restaurants that's open late, has a great menu, and fast service. The food is pretty good too. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is very fun. I will always return back here! My only complaint is that I'm nearly positive they used to have Pad Thai on the menu, however, when I came back, I saw there was only "Thai Noodles". I came with friends after a visit to the bar and we were in the mood for a nice noodle fix. It was around 11pm at night and only a few other parties were inside with us. It says they are open 24/7 on Yelp but I'm pretty sure they actually close at midnight now. We ordered the black bean noodles and the spicy rice cakes to share. Both dishes were tasty to us because we were mildly inebriated and incredibly hungry, but neither were extraordinary. The jja jang myeon was saucy but I felt it lacked meat/veggies to thicken up the sauce and add more texture to the noodles. I enjoyed their rice cakes and felt they had a great chewy consistency but I wasn't sure if the portion size was worth the price. Food came out pretty quickly but service was quite curt the entire visit. Been here once last year and had the spicy jjm. Came here again last Thur night for jja jang myun takeout cause I've been craving these noodles. There's a few tables set up outside for outdoor dining as well, but they took my order at the door and brought it out when it was ready. I took the takeout to the nearby Greely square park to enjoy instead. I was surprised to see they also packed me kimchi and radish side dishes as well. That was a pleasant surprise.
