However we just ordered from DoorDash, paid almost $65, and when it was delivered half of our chicken was missing, the food was cold and when we called to talk to the restaurant they transferred me to the manager, then the kitchen and then hung up. Full Bar, so they make great cocktails.. daily drink special (I always like Cosmo night) Awesome staff... We have always had the nicest and most accommodating staff! We especially love going during Happy Hour... which if I remember correctly is 3:30-5:30.. They have specific items on their HH menu, but it has a great variety of choices. We ordered door dash and it was a horrible experience. Our food was old, cold and tasted like it has been sitting out for hours. The seafood was super fishy smelling like it had gone bad. The delivery guy texted us and told us the restaurant gave our food to someone else and they were calling them to get it back. Wow someone else walked out of the restaurant and instead of making new sushi because that would be the right thing to do they I guess let a random customer walk out with it. Not only was the food inedible but the service was terrible! I ordered the philly roll which it looks to be about the size of a quarter for 10+ dollars what a joke. First of all we ordered the potstickers and they were gummy when you bit into them. The tako kimchi salad.. is just kimchi and plain octopus sliced on top. No extra sauce, not even mixed in together. I am torn giving this place the ranking that I am right now. I have had some really good food here, and some of the food has really disappointed me. When I first came here I had a noodle dish so good that I ordered just that for while after. Recently I have been exploring more of the menu and it has left me a little sad. One super big disappointment is the calamari, the outer breading is ok at best and at worst left it feeling mushy. The sushi has left me in a weird spot too, it wasn't that the sushi was bad, it was just I have tried a lot of the rolls on the menu and I was left confused which one I was eating since a lot of them felt a lot alike. I can't believe I am actually writing this. My family and I used to be regulars at Shangri La. we were there at least once a week and always had great food. Then, I had kids and moved out of Lodi, so it's been years since I have been back! Boy, has this place has changed! I had heard that they had changed ownership, and that would make sense after today's terrible experience. My husband and two daughters (5 and 7) and I walked down from the movie theater for dinner. The service was okay-although it seemed like there were a TON of people working there, some just sitting around. We ordered our food, and there the trouble began. The kids had a way overpriced kids menu item-$9.50. One of them had the teriyaki salmon. It was burnt and inedible. It was also on top of a pile of vegetables, squished in with salad and a scoop of rice. The other one had teriyaki beef. It was too hard for her to chew. Yes, too HARD. My husband got the chicken teriyaki, which he shared with my two hungry kids. He said it was "fine", but it looked old and dried out to me. I had two rolls, the Lodi roll and the crunch roll. They were okay, but not the same as I remembered. In addition, we got an order of edamame and gyoza. Again, it was okay. Add the waters we had and our bill was over $70 (once tip was added). Shangri-La is where my friends and I like to go for Girls' Night Out. We've spent a lot of evenings there enjoying the excellent Raspberry Lemon Drops and the great food. Sometimes we just get a bunch of appetizers such as chicken lettuce cups, edamame, gyoza, and tempura. Other times, we have favorites like honey walnut prawns, Mongolian beef, mandarin garlic chicken, and chicken chow mein. I'm also a fan of the Lodi Roll. This is one of the very few places in Lodi that I can say has consistently served great food every time I have been there. The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. Yeah, found out the hard way that they aren't very creative with their sushi rolls. There is a lot of variety on the menu which is appreciated, but the quality of some of the food is mediocre. If you eat here I would not opt for the sushi. It is not very tasty and the quantity does not match the price. I would recommend going to another local sushi spot (like Komachi or M Sushi Bistro).
