Levis don't always advertise their special deals on the Dress Smart website so if you're a jeans addict like I am popping in every once in a while is not a bad idea. The jeans are always cheap but often it is just crazy which is why you often have to push your way through the crowds to find anything here and be prepared to wait for the fitting rooms. I never bother trying them on so this isn't a problem for me thankfully. Last week I came in here while they were running a special that if you bought 2 or more pairs they are only $40 each. This is fantastic. Jeans that were $120 for $40, why not. You can never have too many, so many different colours and washes and the staff are really good at helping you find sizes. Sometimes there is a samples rack in store so you can pick up one offs at really good prices too.

These days it's in Dressmart, so I don't go here often, because I try and avoid Dressmart as much as I can. I've only gone into the Levis outlet a couple of times, and I've never bought anything. Any of the jeans that are cheap enough that they are a bargain are always in some weird as size, or some weird old style, and the other clothes that look sweet and are a sweet size aren't cheap enough to be worthy of a purchase. I don't like the people who work there either, they are not helpful or friendly. Go back out onto the main road, you might become good again.

No need to wait for end of season sales to be able to spend up large! My last trip to Dressmart I was looking for work clothes and ended up buying three dresses, a blouse, and a singlet top for $60 - a feat that just wouldn't happen anywhere else. However, my real find of the trip was the chunky wedge sandals I found in Glassons. Down from $59.99, I ended up purchasing them for $10, and when I took them to the counter found out accessories were buy one get one free, so ended up walking away with a great black flower hairclip for free as well! Talk about a happy shopper! Though predominantly a clothing outlet, Dressmart also houses eateries, sports shops, shoe shops, health and beauty stores and book stores. The only thing that is missing is a jewellery store, but when you're saving so much money on everything else I guess paying full price for jewellery isn't so bad! Located near Auckland transport stations and with lots of customer parking and a free shuttle service operating Monday-Friday between the mall and Auckland CBD, despite being in Onehunga Dressmart is easily accessible.

Also Dress smart Onehunga is home to the only outlet shop for Peter Alexander in New Zealand! Dress Mart really is the place to visit if you want to save money on branded items. It gets really busy on weekends though, so either be prepared, or come early. Sometimes I find myself getting a bit disoriented inside trying to find a particular shop, but that might just be me!

Now that I know they actually have their own store,and things are actually cheaper than where you would buy them originally I am hooked. It helps that they had a babe'n sales assistant on the day when I went in there, all dark hair and tatts and well dressed and oh my god did I tell you I love this store! He was actually very helpful. This isn't your typical outlet store, they actually have stuff that is being sold at other places at the same time, its not end of lines or just stuff that no one bought. It's cheap AND its not last seasons. As well as great clothes, they also do amazing shoes too. Sales assistant guy: call me!

All of the clothing in here has a discount of between 50 and 70% off of its original price. What's great about it is that, unlike outlet shopping in malls like Onehunga Dress Smart, this store is actually full of really great clothes. I recently bought a really cute pair of Ksubi denim shorts for way cheaper than their original price. Also unlike most outlet stores, the clothing is still really well merchandised, with everything sectioned off into styles, making it really easy to shop. There are few places (in fact, I can't really think of any) like this in Auckland so make the most of their great selection of labels and even better prices.

What separates this store from the others such as Recycle Boutique and Finders Keepers is that they actually make it feel boutiquey rather than op-shoppy in there. This means luxurious Laura Ashley-papered walls, funky lighting and spacious changing rooms and staff who can help you pick out outfits and advise you on almost anything in the store. The brands they sell can be anything from Vivienne Westwood to Kiwi favourites Karen Walker and Zambesi, all at massively discounted prices. Of course, you're still going to be paying more for the privilege of owning these items than you'd pay for lesser quality items in a chain store, but what you'll get in return are pieces that will last you a lifetime...or indeed items you'd probably be able to resell again for a tidy profit.

There were only two checkouts, but if you shop there as soon as the doors open as I do, you shouldn't have any issues or experience long lines. The prices were fantastic in my opinion. The only thing I didn't see much of were belts, hats, purses or shoes, but this is the beginning of the year so I am sure there are loads of new stock. Don't take my word for it. Considering this fabric is the norm in the shop, prices aren't that cheap, so generally I stick to the sale racks or hunt down the few pieces made out of cotton. The clothes weren't cheap. There were some gorgeous little dresses - they looked especially beautiful on the mannequins. For the first few minutes I felt quite ignored... which is weird, because in such a small space I sort of expected to be greeted straight away. As soon as I started sifting through the sales rack someone hurried over and started giving me details on the sale and asking if I wanted to try anything on. I took a fancy for two dresses, both orange and stunning. They were $90 each marked down from $180! Bargain alert. I didn't end up getting either of them (my conscious kicked in and asked "do you really need these"?) but I'm glad I discovered the shop! I'll definitely be popping in frequently to check that sale rack!
