Maybe I should have read all these terrible reviews prior to my appointment however, I went off my Sydney app which had 5 stars. Salesman instead of actually being professional about my exam. As I walked in the Dr and receptionist were gossiping about who knows what. I've never been to an office where you play musical rooms. I swear I entered the same room back and forth 3-4 times. The Dr kept insisting on using my benefits and my employer cared so much for my well being that's why I had good insurance and should be using ALL my benefits everything was about how my insurance can pay for it. Where do I start....the fact that this business is still open is nothing but a miracle. My appointment was for 11am I show up at 10:30am and Lori the receptionist was phenomenal at helping me and super friendly. The Doctor kauser Sharieff was 30 mins late literally 30 mins late, she walks in at 11:30 unprofessional first strike. Sadly there was another patient who came in and told me this is the usual business practice for Dr. Kauser Sharieff being late is her specialty. Finally as the exam starts her phone rings and she leaves the room to take the call.....this happened 3 times during my visit alone. Extremely unprofessional and very rude. Then as I'm alone in the room I can hear her complaining to her staff and being rude over the lack of business. The staff isn't the problem it's you Dr. Kauser Sharieff, you're unprofessional, rude and need a reality check get yourself together and be more professional. I traveled all the way from Las Vegas to see this OD after a recommendation from a friend. I'm IMPRESSED. Dr. Sharieff is a thorough, patient, and very intelligent woman. I had many questions after some of my very quick visits to the OD in Vegas that led to my eyes feeling dry and headaches that would last hours. This location is a little intimate, but when you're getting such good service...that shouldn't matter. I would highly recommend Dr. Sharieff for many reasons: 1. She's willing to answer your questions in detail rather than scape them aside like many other providers I know. 2. She'll work with you, not against you. 3. She's kind. In my field, I'm in front of a computer for a majority of the day - and Dr. Sharieff understands that. She recommended anti-glares & transitions for the sun. Wish I could give zero stars. After reading the other negative reviews I see a pattern. I am not the only one who has experienced Dr. Sharieffs rude, dismissive, disrespect, completely unprofessional personality. She is consistently late, leaves you sitting and waiting forever, and performs medical tests that you don't need and didn't ask for, and then charges you for them! Near the end of my 2-HOUR EYE EXAM she says she has one more test for me. She tells me after the test that it's for dry eye and that she has a new laser machine to help treat dry eye. I never complained of dry eye symptoms! I later saw the charge for $99 on my bill for this test. She is ALWAYS looking for the upsell and that's not even the worst of it. I went to her for years because she is a specialist who is close to where I live. I felt I had invested so much time (literally with all of those 2 hour visits) that I stuck with her. For my condition she recommended that I do eye therapy there at her office. This is a long and expensive process of many visits over a long time. After a particularly long eye exam visit I came home complaining about the Dr and my husband said why don't you go see a specialist at UCI. They are supposed to be the best. I did that and discovered that the therapy Dr Sharieff recommend for me doesn't even work for my condition and that I was eiligble for surgery to correct my condition. Dr. Sharieff never told me that surgery was even and option! Probably because she wanted to keep me coming to therapy forever. 1. Waited 45 mins for my little sister's exam. Got there a couple minutes before 6PM appt time, provided new patient forms to her optician/admin, she verified eligibility, and then we waited....until 6:45 (ish). Look I get it you're one doctor to many patients and you're trying to get you buck. I'm not asking for a damn foot massage or real time waiting periods, but for god's sake be up front with your patient. idk maybe say "Hi I'm so sorry for the wait. I'll be with you in xx minutes." Don't waste our time. 2. She used her bare hands to open my sisters eyes. Didn't see this woman once wash her hands let alone wipe down her equipment. Last I checked we're in a pandemic, and you're a medical professional. Lol really Doc? 3. She dilated my sister's eyes. Why didn't you tell us her eyes were going to get dilated? That's what really pissed me off. Be transparent. I was very close to having my sister drive herself there because I was busy with work. I'm going to make a quick visit to her office tomorrow and request the forms we signed. If I blindly signed somewhere that she would get her eyes dilatated, yup that's my fault and I'm an idiot. 4. Another thing I found odd.....she did one final exam in a room with my sister, came out with the prescription written down on a regular sheet of paper, signed the prescription pad, and then told her admin/optician to write it down for her. And then walked away. Didn't come back to check it. Final thoughts? Probably not best to come here for your routine eye exam. I'm not the type who would write a negative review, but I felt strongly about how unprofessional my visit was with this doctor. First, she exudes this level of arrogance that rubs me up the wrong way; especially when she dismissed questions I had about my eye health, as if my concerns are unimportant and a waste of her time. Then, after my eye exam she insisted that I purchase an expensive preventative test of which I had no interest in buying since I felt it was unnecessary (confirmed by another optometrist). Her desperation for selling me the additional exam was so unprofessional and awkward. After I said no thank you several times, she kept pushing the sale on me like a cheap cars salesman would , completely disrespecting my wishes. Her classless, money hungry manner was pathetic, and I wanted to leave the office immediately, but I needed my prescription. On the positive side, Lori, the front desk lady is very personable and shows more concern and follow through with the clients than the actual doctor. I found Dr. Sharieff on google while looking for an eye doctor that accepts Medical. I was able to get a same day appointment which was cool. I went in for the appointment and my first thought was that the office was kind of old and dingey. The woman at the desk was lovely and is the reason I'm giving a two star rather than one star review. At my appointment, the doctor was rude. I said hello and she didn't say it back which was weird. Then she dilated my eyes without letting me know ahead of time. If you've ever had your eyes dilated you know that you literally cannot see. She did not tell me this was going to happen prior to the appointment and I was literally blind and could not drive myself home. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE While I couldn't see I had to pick out my new frames. I felt like the selection was very samey and did not have a lot of fashionable options. I made it clear I did not like any of the choices and was not once told I could get the prescription in my current frames updated. I settled on a pair of very sub par frames without really knowing what they looked like because again my eyes were super dilated and I couldn't really see. I left the shop super unhappy with my choice of frames that I settled on. I then had to wait in the parking lot for an hour and a half for my eyes to settle down a little so I could see somewhat good enough to drive. When I got home my mom said I could have gotten my current frames updated so I called the next day when they opened because by then they were closed. They said my new frames had already gone to the lab, so I guess they are quick to get started on orders which is good. However, now I am stuck with glasses that make me feel very ugly and I will probably not wear them and just stick with my old prescription. Don't go here. read more

Dr. Kauser runs a great clinic. The environment is professional, the employees are genuinely friendly. They have a good selection of frames from the lower end to the higher end. Their new vision therapist is really great with kids. She's patient, encouraging and really responds well with their needs. They recently just hosted a vision therapy workshop for the community which was extremely informing. Educators, parents, professionals in the medical field participated and went away with a better understanding of what to look for in children who need vision therapy. Surprisingly students with ADHD-like symptoms may not necessarily have ADHD, but may have an developmental issue with their eyes and brain. Also sports concussions may factor in with a loss of focus because of the inability to read with ease. As a vision therapy patient for couple years, I actually gained a better understanding here at this clinic of my issues. They explained why I had certain focusing symptoms and how they manifest itself at work or home. I see that Dr. Kauser is bringing more awareness of vision therapy to the community and I love it. If you know any child, student, person, person with vision challenges, I'd recommend this place. read more

Very unprofessional office. Their equipment broke down during my exam. I don't trust the prescription. I will get a second exam somewhere else. I came to pick up my glasses at 11:00am on a Monday. This was my lunch hour and one hour after the office opened. Lights were on and door was locked. There was another lady waiting at the door. She actually called ahead and let the man running the office know she would be there in the next 15 minutes. You cannot trust this doctor. 3 years ago I visited the Orange office for a treatment for a developmental disorder for my child. This treatment, sensory learning program, is fishy and costs $3,000 and did nothing better to my daughter. On top of it, without a proper assessment and testing this doctor was forcing us to start a vision therapy. She was so persistent, she left three phone messages about how much my daughter needs a vision therapy. You could tell from her tone that she needed business from you! I have never seen employees speak so bad about their boss to patients. This male staff was heavily complaining how he hates this place and he is quitting as of tomorrow. She has MISSED 2 scheduled appointments, wrote an INCORRECT prescription, and is RUDE to both her employees and patients. Horrible! Horrible! Unprofessional! Took 6 months for them to get a pair of glasses to fit correctly. They asked us to come back so many times. And each time they could not get it correct. They would not allow a refund and kept attempting to fix the situation. Yet failed each time. Finally after 6 months they got it correct. To make it worst, each time they took the glasses back to try and fix the problem they never called to let us know the glasses came back and to come pick them up. I had to call each time and conveniently each time they happen to get the shipment back that morning and didn't get a chance to call yet. Just seems fishy. My best eye doctor experience. She took time to do very detailed exam which I my visits to other optometrist. Staff were very pleasant to work with and they made my prescription lens in about a week. For an follow up visit I was given an appointment in just 2 days and purchased contact lenses in the second visit. My vision is crisp and clear after many years of giving up contact that I has purchased on line. A chunk of my payment was reimbursed by my insurance and they billed the insurance for me. I will stop by to purchase some prescription sunglasses and they have my choice- Oakley :) I am sure to recommend this office. read more

BEWARE!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR. IF YOU'RE CHILD IS ALREADY IN VISION THERAPY I RECOMMEND YOU GET A 2ND OPINION. MY RATING IS ZERO IF I COULD. I took my Daughter who has Autism for an eye exam to Dr. Sharieff because she advertised herself as an Autism vision specialist. She examined my daughter on 2 occasions and said my daughter had moderate visual problems and would need vision therapy at $135/visit. She charged me out of pocket expense for 1st visit on 01/13/16 at $369 and said she needed additional sensory, neuro and development exam which I agreed to on 1/15/16 and charged me another $350 out of pocket. She didn't want to charge my insurance which I have good PPO coverage and would have covered it at a discount. She and her staff said her exam where not covered. She said I needed to bring my back again to finish the exam. She didn't want me leaving the office until I scheduled another visit which would cost another $350/visit. I became suspicious when she was being pushing about making future appts. and stated my daughter had moderate visual problems and would need extensive vision therapy. I'm also a Rehabilitation Nurse specialist and have worked in Insurance industry for 22 years. I am aware of the red-flags associated with un-ethical doctors. I discussed her findings with my daughter's school therapist and they did not agree and also did comprehensive evaluations and found nothing to indicate a moderate deficit. I also took my daughter for a second opinion with another vision developmental specialist exam and there was no need for vision therapy. My Daughter only needed reading glasses with a very mild adjustment to prevent eye strain per the new optometrist. Dr, Sharieff is taking advantage of parent with children with autism by recommending vision therapy that are not needed and parents paying out of pocket for services that are unnecessary. She recommends vision therapy and extensive sensory neuro exam when they are not needed and has parents pay out of pocket. She does not go thru insurance carriers in order to not get caught with insurance fraud. As a parent of a child with a learning disability I know that any parent is willing to pay any price to get their child the services they need and Dr, Sharieff takes advantage of these parents. I have filed a formal complaint with the Board of optometry to further investigate her practices. She is not working based on their standards of care. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR. read more

If I could give this Dr. a one, I would. I am not a patient but I drove my elder neighbor for her eye exam. We waited about 15 minutes for her to seen so the wait time was not outrageous. However, this Dr. does not respect her patients or staff at all! I wanted to take my neighbor out of that office as quickly as possible but she insisted on staying. What upset me the most is the rudeness and disrespect with which this doctor speaks to her staff. I guess she knows how much these employees need their jobs and just takes advantage of them. I have been at that office 2 times and met 2 different receptionists/ assistants. I went back to the office to pick up a card and found out she just lost another employee. Wonder why? One thing I did notice is that she is training some students (don't know from where). Praying that those young students do not become as arrogant as this woman is. One more thing. Vision Therapy is great! For my elder son, the eye power was increasing very rapidly and that is when I consulted Dr. Sheriff and started Vision Therapy for him. She constantly monitored the progress. The results were amazing. The eye power growth rate significantly dropped now. With the eye exercises and fun activities that train his eyes, my son is having fun. All the therapists are well trained, patient and friendly. I'm really moved by the passion that Mike carries with him towards therapy and all his energy. My kids enjoy working with him and it is more like playing fun games, than a formal therapy with him. He also tried Ortho-K night time lenses recently and is getting comfortable with it now. Looking at all the fun my elder son (9) is having, my younger son (4) joined the party as well. I have never had to write a negative review before but this dr did me wrong and i feel as if she is only out to get as much money from the patient as possible rather than actually helping and I was constantly talked down to. The receptionist is the nicest and very helpful but I would NOT go to this doctor. I was told I NEEDED 2 pairs of glasses at the first appointment and couldn't get bifocals because she tends to only prescribe them to school children..I call BS! I recieved my glasses and found out she didn't give me my full prescription and told me she would gradually increase as time goes on. I was never told this at the initial appointment even though she tried to back track and say she did. Everything she does I feel is to get the most money possible from the patient.
