They made the fish fresh, it tasted fresh and the batter was the best batter I had had for a while. Not to thick, didn't break apart and melted in my mouth while the hot fish burnt my tongue (totally my fault). The chips weren't soggy or too big, they tasted like they were almost double fried. Nice little and big ones and they were actually pretty crispy which is a big bonus. We had softdrinks and didn't have to wait long for our order. Overall a pretty decent experience. The chicken or pork dishes tend to be a bit tough to chew or overcooked and seem to be more batter than meat in most cases. But then you can say that about most Chinese takeaway establishments. What brings me back though is the people working here, very nice and always seem happy you came in, which can be a hard thing to find in Melbourne. It's a small place and gets extremely busy at dinner time. The food is authentic and full of flavour. For those who aren't into spicy, you may want to ask them to tone it down a bit and they are more than happy to do so. We recently tried the Pork Belly and Chinese Broccoli, as well as the Mango Fish. These were terrific dishes. The pork crispy and drenched in a tangy sauce. The mango fish was spicy and fresh. The flavours are strong and delicious. This little place has been around for 6 months now and I can only imagine it will be here for a very long time!
