I called to get more information on piano lessons for an adult. I was given a lot of information upfront about the group events, how lessons are paid in chunks, and the cancellation policy. This was a lot of information upfront and confused me.
When I attempted to simplify my inquiry by asking if I could just pay for lessons and plan around the times I would be out of town, she said that most people just pay for the lessons and, if they aren't available (say they need to go out of town) to take them, they still pay for the lesson.
When I attempted to clarify - if I know I have to be out of town, I can't schedule around that ahead of time so I don't have to pay for the lesson? I have to pay for the lesson even if I know i'm not going to be here?
Here response was "well, I am worth it. I have two masters degrees".
In my opinion, that was an over-confident and brash way of treating a potential client. Not a good experience for me. read more
