I am very disappointed in the inspection that my Mom received on her new home. She hired Shasta Premier Inspection Group for her home inspection in Yreka in late November for her home that closed in late December. The light on the ceiling fan does not work... since she received a full home inspection that stated all the lights and ceiling fans worked she was under the impression that the bulbs needed replacement. We replaced the bulbs only to find that it still did not work. When she spoke with the inspector he stated "yeah that's what I think I figured too, that it just needed new bulbs" making clear that he didn't test the unit. Additionally the inspection report claimed that the base board heaters turned on and warmed up... when we looked further into the report and areas (tabs that weren't apparent in the beginning) we found that the report said "per home owner the heaters haven't been used for decades and there's no power to them". This "service" hardly seems deserving to be called inspection-cursory glance at best! And the 90 day warranty that's spoken so highly of is an absolute joke as well... you are directed to find the information (buried in the pages of the digital "report") for another company altogether and told to get a quote or repair bill and then provide thorough detail on the failure and cost as well as the specific pages on the report. Clearly Shasta Premier does not take ownership of their mistakes or lack of quality. This company is a joke and I am furious... I know wonderful home inspectors in Shasta county that I clearly should have called in the first place and would have happily paid extra for them to come further. However my mom relied on the wisdom of the local realtors because we are new to siskiyou county read more

I am a 65 yo widow with no experience buying a home. I trusted the home inspector that the realtors used. Shortly after my home closed, I discovered black water seeping from an electrical outlet in the laundry room & it was running into the kitchen. The plumber said there were signs of past flooding & mold in this house. I immediately did my own research to find a qualified home inspector that could help me. Lori & Mike came to my rescue. I chose them because of their many certifications, experience & warranties. They also used up to date modern equipment. They found major issues that were missed from the 1st inspection including wet carpet/tile areas throughout the house plus grading issues draining water towards the house slab foundation. When the carpet was pulled up as they suggested, large cracks & mold were noted through the rooms. They gave me recommendations on the next steps I need to take. They are truly warm & caring people. This is the note I sent to Lori & Mike. "Wow... thank you so much. This house situation has been overwhelming & very confusing for me.It was suppose to be my dream house & everything was suppose to go smoothly.The day it closed,I marked on my calendar "The start of my new life"...
