She was able to buff the deep scratch to the point it's barely visible and the guitar looks and plays great with her modifications to the nut and neck. I happily drove almost an hour from Brampton and so glad I did. Everyone there has a passion for their work and takes pride in the results. I'm a very happy customer and glad I made the choice to come here.

I work on guitars (acosutic and electric) basses, mandolins and ukuleles. We'll start our appointment with a chat about what you're experiencing with your guitar. I'll get an idea of the pain points, I'll assess your guitar's playability, and we'll make a plan for service. I often recommend we start with a setup. The setup allows me to get to know the personality of your guitar, and we can get it to a baseline of working well, then make further assessments for improvements based off that. I also offer workshops to help you learn uke and guitar maintenance tricks. Join one of my workshops to gain skills to care for your own instruments like a guitar tech! I live very close to a well-known, multi-city competitor of 'The Arts Music Store' and nothing in…read moretheir line-up of acoustics ever grabbed me. Their customer service (or lack their of a lot of the time) was sub-par and never inspired me to be interested in anything like a new acoustic guitar. When I HAD tried to buy something a few years back, I was told that the 'set up guy wasn't around' or that 'yeah, he might be able to get to that' and that was enough for me to say, 'screw it' ... you just don't really give a care if I spend 3 grand in here do you? So I stopped looking or caring about buying a new Taylor (or other high-end) guitar - something I'd always thought would be cool. But on a warm mid-September day, 2015, on the way back from a day at the beach, my wife and I stopped into the ever-beautiful, guitar-focused shop 'The Arts Music Store' just to see and hear some of the acoustics on display. After all, my 50th b-day was coming up, and she thought it would be great to treat me to that 'once-in-a-lifetime' purchase that inspires a musician of many years to keep things fresh and fun. Darryl (and not his other brother Darryl) had no trouble introducing himself and encouraging me to play whatever I wanted. And so I did. After some time had passed, he came back and started chatting us up and made sure to mention that he was not on commission and was just interested in making me happy if I decided on something. He was able to articulate extremely well the value of the Taylor guitars and the differences between the makes and models. We learned Darryl was a long-time staff member of the store and his personable, no-pressure salesmanship let me and my wife conclude that for moi, the brand-spankin' new Taylor 816ce featuring the new ES2 pick-up style was the baby for us. He was thrilled to speak highly of his 2 staff members that were tech-certified - trained in all-things-Taylor and who would be able to maintain or fix the guitar the day that was needed. Well, that day came the following day. When I got home, I was disappointed that the Taylor I'd picked out had some buzz coming from the pickup system, made evident when I played an open D with my thumb. I called up the store and they said 'bring it in'! My disappointment was short-lived, because when I brought it back, Taylor-authorized tech 'Kevin' was on hand to diagnose and repair the problem instantly! (Turned out to be a rare, but nonetheless faulty circuit-board which he quickly replaced, restoring the new Taylor to pristine function, tone and condition.) Kevin was extremely enthusiastic about teaching us the way to safely preserve the health and wood of the new guitar - indispensable information if we're to keep the guitar's health and retain its value and playability. Thank you 'The Arts Music Store' for making my 50th b-day present experience a great one. Thank you for giving a care and for your amicable character and professionalism expressed to me and my wife. Can't say enough about all o' this. These guys are the best. Their product line-up is downright sexy and I think the fact that my wife also picked up a pink ukulele at the same time just made it even more fun than we could have hoped for. Thanks 'The Arts Music Store' - you rock! And big thanks to Darryl especially. Martin & Nancy Douglas

I was close but it seemed like the truss rod was stuck, or the bullet stripped. I looked online for shops that I could bring it to and get it fixed. A quick email to Trevor made me feel that he was the right guy. He asked the right questions, didn't pressure me and didn't come across like a music store snob. fast forward a month or so and I arrive, bass in hand and he gets to work on it. Does the whole setup. Filing, tuning etc and then he discovers that there's no sound ( I don't have an amp). He opens it up and sure enough a wire is just hanging there. Quick fix, plug it in and it's alive! He continues to check everything and at the same time telling my why he's doing it etc. In the end, he let me know that yes, the bullet is stripped, but, there was also issues with the nut, which he fixed and after redoing the set up again, the bass was sounding amazing! Trevor is a super cool, laid back guy who really cares about what he does for a living. We talked about guitars in general, as being a newbie I tend to like to ask lots of questions. He was amazing to deal with and will be bringing him my guitar(s) for anything I need done. A real pleasure!

My son apologized and proceeded to sanitize before asking if he could try out another guitar at which time the owner asked him if this guitar was "within his price range". He then went on to state that "people shouldn't be trying out the guitars during Covid and that he doesn't like the strings being worn down". By this point my son left the store feeling pretty defeated. I had just purchased a few items in a store a few doors down when I met up with my son. I went to speak to the owner, expressed myself with tact, in that I felt my son had not only been discriminated against but that the owners customer service in general was very poor. I further stated that my son comes from a family that are full of musicians, some of which are paid for their musicianship. He was very defensive and unapologetic. As a result, I stated that I would not be recommending his store to friends, family nor co-workers. He stated "that's fine". His wife seemed a little more interested but she stated that there was Covid. I work at a local hospital and I fully understand the implications but with that said, as a business that is open during these times, sanitizing instruments between use is standard protocol and you would think they would want business. Instead they assumed he didn't have money to purchase a guitar when in actuality he has 7 mid priced to higher end guitars at home. This experience was unfortunate, especially on our first ever visit to Bracebridge. Fortunately however, a few days prior, we'd visited the new Guitar Store in Huntsville called Music on Main and the owners were absolutely lovely. We've just moved to Huntsville from Toronto. We will definitely be returning to Music on Main and if we purchase another guitar or if my husband purchases another, it will definitely be at Music on Main as opposed to Precision Music in Bracebridge. The customer service was night and day.
