My mother has received very good care at this location. Everyone has treated her with the most kindness and she is very happy there.

It is heartbreaking having to see a close loved one, whether that be a parent or grandparent, have…read moreto enter a nursing home. But it is beyond blood boiling when they are treated as a dollar sign instead of a human being, and that is exactly what happened here. I read the reviews of this place, it seems the owner can respond to positive messages however ignores the ones that they have hurt and disappointed. My grandfather was treated unfairly, was looked at as "giving them a hard time" because he was depressed. These people are not giving you a hard time, they are having a hard time. Administration here was just absolutely disappointing. Front desk was disappointing. As someone who works at a healthcare facility, I've seen first hand how the drivers treat the ones they transport and it's heartbreaking. This place will be good to those who are bringing a dollar to their pocket. They will disrespect those who choose to leave due to their lack of compassion. I've never in my life hoped more than now that a nursing home would change my view on how I've always heard them to be, but all this place did was prove me right. It's about money, it's about the revolving door of income. Not properly caring for those who need it. (Those who read this, yes my grandfather was able to pay. He chose not to because of their scheme. When it came time to leave, they disrespected my family and lacked any sort of compassion for his situation.)

When the hospital discharged her, Richardson Community Hospice was willing to take her in. Shortly after arrival, however, they determined that she did not qualify for hospice care. We started looking at other options. They never pressured us to get her out quickly. Mom did not want to go to a nursing home, so we explored at home care. I made arrangements to come out from Connecticut to be part of her care team. By the time I got there on a Thursday night, Mom had definitely qualified for hospice care. She passed away Sunday morning with my sister and I holding her hands. I am so glad Mom was able to spend her last few weeks in a beautiful facility with wonderful caring staff. They were a big help after she passed as well, making phone calls and arrangements for us.

The dispensation of pain medication and doctors at hand were limited, the essential care of my mother was secondary at best. I had to request several times for water and sanitary products which were not promptly delivered. Staff is not always at hand, and when confronted a handful of temporary nurses, different nurses, were of different opinions and excuses. This was not a dignified nor respectful way to see to the end of life of a family member. If at all possible I would suggest elsewhere for the cost.
