Early Friday evening at Sheetz on Hillsborough Rd. in Durham I was severely overcharged for my purchase. When I brought it up with the young dude cashier he argued that it was the correct price. I remained calm & polite. Called the manager/supervisor/whatever over. There was a line of several customers at that time. Then a third and the only other employee I saw working there came over: at no point did they consider opening a register for the line of customers directly behind me while I plead my case about the severe over charge ( a single item scanned for the cost of a case of the item). Anyone with any sort of idea of customer service should have comped my sale and been done with it. Listen. You have 2 similar choices on Hillsborough if you are looking for an unhealthy meal of burger, fries, and drink. Yes, there's McDonald's and Wendy's and Zaxby's, but a step below those is either Sheetz or Cookout. I always prefer Sheetz. The Good: 1. The place has phenomenal spicy chicken sandwiches, and blows Cookout out of the water in this regard. 2. The place is INCREDIBLY clean with outstanding COVID practices. 3. The menu is substantially large, and I feel like I can get a different thing every time I go and it'll still be moderately flavorful. The Bad: 1. Burritos are not worth the price point, especially if you go for chicken or non-meat. Go across the street to that food truck, or the couple small Mexican restaurants along Hillsborough, if you want a burrito! "Gas, fast food, convenience store, all near Duke" I confess I assumed that Sheetz was merely a gas station, perhaps with a small bit of supplies but I assumed no more than what one would see in an Exxon or equivalent. I was very wrong. First, they have a large selection of fast food: Real fast food, too-- burgers made to order, various sandwiches, etc. There is a "prepared food" set for those who want to run in/ out, but one can get a meal here like that from a decent fast food restaurant. Ordering is very convenient from touch-screen stations. One gets the receipt and then pays on the side. I will say the number of selections slows things down-- can't order a "#1" and move on (unless getting a preprepared sandwich). The sheer volume of selections makes everyone order slowly, so if you have a family all ordering on the same ticket, it'll take a good while. There were also lots of drink options-- and not just sodas or bottles. Chai, fresh milkshakes, "frozen hot chocolate" (I tried this-- was great), etc. The convenience store looked great, and of course, there's a gas station outside. I ordered the burger with doritos/chili/BBQ sauce. It was tasty and well-presented. The fries came with ~15 options for different dips (I just got ketchup). I got the "bag" size, and although it tasted fine, the portion size was very small-- I recommend going for one of the larger. And as I mentioned, the frozen hot chocolate was great (with little chocolate chunks, but still drinkable with a straw). Price was reasonable-- ~$10 for everything. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, too. And everyone working there was VERY friendly. This Sheetz officially opens tomorrow (I visited today for a "soft opening"), but it's clean and seems well-run. A-OK-- may up to 4-stars after future visits. read more

Definitely one of the best diners around for a good meal at a good price......and it's located in a Gas Station...If you are looking for some quality food, check out the folks at Sheetz....Have had their burger, pizza and other dishes and have not been disappointed....The gas prices aren't bad either when I have helped to fill up the tanks of friends' cars.....and I have had some luck in the found stuff category over there too.......Definitely worth going by if you are in a financial pinch.......and it's appetizing.... read more

I'm not gonna lie I'm a very undisive person but Sheetz knows how to satisfy a customer. I can always rely on a good a.s.s. meal from here especially at night. Went into store #570 about an hour ago on 10/10/21. Mask mandate signs for everyone incl. Vaxxed plastered on all entry doors. While I was in the store, tho, at least a dozen non-masked people entered. I left & called the store, but the woman I spoke with couldn't have cared less. She said she couldn't/wouldn't tell people to wear masks. When I said she certainly could tell them to wear masks because it's her store, she said "It's not my store, it's Sheetz's store." She also said she was with the police, and I said if she's unwilling to tell the non-masked to cover up or leave, she could ask the police to do so, but she clearly thought that was crazy. She was IN NO WAY WHATSOEVER willing to enforce store policy about wearing masks. read more

EXTREMELY slow service. 40 mins just to get fried cheese bites and coffee. I would not waste my time going here, the line was enormous the entire time I was there. I love this place, good food at a decent price. Being some one whose hours change, the fact the do full menu all day everyday really sits well with me. The sandwiches are of good quality meats, I do wish there were a few more options on the toppings, but it is a fair price for what you get. I highly recommend the pizza, but only the full pizza. It is better than most places that sell pizza but are not dedicated to pizza. Again my only real grip is there is a lack of topping options, I mean no bacon really?!? I come by as often as I can! 24 hrs and has great vegan options from the made-to-order foods to the snacks and drinks! They do have almond milk for their made-to-order drinks. Fried pickles are vegan. I usually get a burrito with rice and beans and tots with all the toppings I can get. Watch out for the Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce if you're vegetarian or vegan: it has chicken in it. They have a great chart that has the ingredients for everything on their site so you can check ahead of time what you can get. They are also a great spot to find Faygo! read more

There was a gentleman in line for was looking at some stuff to buy so I approached the cashier directly who refused to serve me unless I walk back through the line which had no customer waiting. He literally waited to serve me and waited for the next customer to ring them up and then me and kept on smiling like it was funny. I was very disappointed in the salad I got. My bowl was only half full and I only got 5 melon ball sized scoops of tuna salad. What a ripoff. I could have made this on my own, and would have had I known that I would be skimped. Since I didn't, I'm writing this review. I also find it very inconvenient that Sheetz cards can't be looked up with either phone number or email. Luckily mine was in my car. Otherwise I would have lost out on earning points. off and on the ice/fountain drink machines have not worked or leaked onto the floor. It has been about 2 weeks now that neither have been fixed. the floor is always wet and sticky, one side of the drink dispenser is not usable - no ice or drinks. Today, I went in for a coke.....still not repaired. ok - I'll get a pepsi....no syrup. I give up.....How long could it possibly take to fix the drink machine.
