This is a great sized farmers market in downtown Fort Wayne with lots of different types of local…read morevendors. Nothing massed-produced or MLM garbage - just honest-to-goodness Fort Wayne made or grown goodies. It took us about 45 minutes to look at all the booths. I wish there were more vegetable/fruit stalls, however. There's only like 3 total while there are about a billion jewelry makers and bakeries. My ears aren't pierced anymore so I had to walk past all the earring sellers. We ended up buying some tomato plants, bagels, a delicious strawberry shortcake cookie to share from Rocky Rhodes bakery, two tasty mac and cheeses from Baby Got S'mac, and some pretty artwork of local Fort Wayne landmarks.

I visited the Fort Wayne Farmers Market during the winter (well, late spring), on the last weekend…read moreof the season that the farmers market is held indoors before it goes outdoors for the summer months. It was located inside Parkview Field, the home of the Fort Wayne TinCaps baseball team. I like this farmers market a lot! It isn't huge, but the vendors are all great and there is a lot of variety. I got a root beer candle from Modest Wick, and some maple syrup from Metzger Brothers Farms, and honey sticks from Bee Great Local. There was also lots of fresh produce for sale, many kinds of baked goods that I managed to avoid through sheer will, and crafts made by local vendors. Also, I had the best cafe Cubano of my life from Laz's Cuban Cafe food truck, which was parked outside of the farmers market. I don't know if Laz's is always here, but if you see them and you like great coffee, get a cafe Cubano! You won't regret it. Many of the vendors at this farmers market accept credit cards, but some only accept cash or check. Metzger Brothers Farms was one of the vendors that I had to write a check to because I didn't have cash and they didn't have a credit card reader. So to be safe, you might want to bring cash to this farmers market.

Fresh, Local, Organic, Unique, AWESOME!…read more Yellow Springs Farmers market is the best in the area!! They are open every Saturday morning May to November from 7 am to noon, But don't arrive at noon or you will be disappointed. As their website says, with over 20 different vendors, they have fresh and organic fruits and vegetables from many different local farms. They also have organic meat, cheeses, and eggs. There are fresh baked goods and even a few great gluten free vendors!! They have local honey, local maple syrup, and even a place for fresh cut flowers. My personal favorites are the organic and local veggies, local honey, Flying Mouse local maple syrup, and the organic bacon. Once, I got some organic ham too and it was amazing!!! For people with food allergies - Lots of gluten free products. You will be amazed! Plus some free samples. You'd never know they were gluten free. I wish I could remember the name of the vendor, but one of my favorites has a completely gluten free kitchen because she has Celiac disease, so no cross contamination issues!!! For people with pet allergies, be careful. There are almost always people who bring their dogs. Also don't miss Yellow Springs Winter Farmers market - not as many vendors or variety but still worth the trip! Tips: Go early!!! You won't get the bacon or the pick of the produce if you go late. Park behind Tom's Market. Easy parking. Bring your own reusable bags. It is Yellow Springs after all. LOL. Bring plenty of cash in lower bills if possible. Ask questions. No one here minds talking about their products! Bring a gluten free friend along. They will thank you!
