Part 1 of 2.. One of MANY poor experiences at this place!!…read moreI waited for almost 10 minutes with ONE customer in front of me, and TWO staff members in store. Whether or not one was supposed to be on a register, the one girl did everything BUT, including talking on the phone, and taking a smoke break AND additional personal call on her cell phone with patrons still waiting in line. And the gentleman behind me made the same comment, as soon as he walked up in line behind me, sharing that this is a common occurrence for him as well, and we both frustratingly joked that we thought we were standing in a "SPEEDWAY"... This is not the first time I've had this negative experience with this particular staff member; there have been NUMEROUS encounters with her that I can recall, whereby I took notice that she was doing other things besides her job; or not managing her time/customers appropriately. Just recently, she refused to accept my roll of quarters as payment, nor would she give me $10 bill in exchange of $10 roll of quarters and the same girl refused and said that it was against company policy, which I found odd since I thought a gas station was always in need of more coin change. Regardless of the reason, she was extremely rude to me treated me like an idiot for even making the request. I then asked for her to give me "change for a $20 bill" and she sarcastically replied, "Now THAT I suppose I CAN do", speaking in a very condescending tone. Not only have I witnessed other patrons being told they are not allowed to use the restroom, I've also been denied this myself. And the few times I have been granted access, they were absolutely disgusting and it made sense to me why people are often denied this...because your staff doesn't keep them clean, and would maybe rather spend their clocked in time taking smoke breaks and personal calls, especially this particular girl... Most of the time, she seems frustrated and distracted and just does not seem to enjoy her job at all. The other girl, manning the register at the time, is quite friendly, just very slow. I've seen her there several times before and do not believe she's new, but seems to struggle with simple tasks, seems to get easily distracted during transactions. I'm all for being friendly, however a conversation with a patron should never take longer than the transaction itself and if both cannot be succeeded at the same time, maybe she needs more training when the store is not congested with people who are just simply wanting to pay for gas and move on...??) --anyway, my review as follows: Too bad it is not an option to give ZERO stars BECAUSE I SWEAR-- this is the SLOWEST and worst gas station ever!! Depending on the direction from which you are driving, it tends to be the most accessible for its location ONLY, as it can get very congested throughout the day and the stop lights at this intersection are already lacking in speed, which just adds further insult to the injury of frustration I gain, each time I make the mistake of stopping at this dreaded gas station. It takes a lot for me to take MORE time to actually leave a review; therefore, this means it MUST be REALLY bad, and from the other frustrated patrons I tend to be stuck in line with, who seem to share the same sentiment, I now am convinced that I am not being hypersensitive!!! It's a double edge sword because the staff that works quickly (when they're actually working and not taking a smoke break with a line of people at the one open register they unfortunately abandon their unskilled staff peer to manage...and then STILL take even more time to come back in from their break and correct/assist, as we've all stood anxiously awaiting their cigarette to burn out and/or for their personal phone call to end, OR the pleasant workers are SOOO slowwww, and seen to have no idea what they're doing, and shouldn't be left alone to fend for themself, THEN be trained on how to do so with 5+ people waiting in line. (Check date & time was 11ish am) Being a former human resources manager and customer service specialist I cannot stand when I see a line of people and a staff member gives the phone more attention than the customers who are standing right in front of them. It is "classified" as a convenience store and ironically named "Speedway" though, not only is it MOST inconvenient, rather it is one of the slowest gas stations I've ever been to!! I would never hypocritically comment on something that I haven't done myself and one of my very first jobs was at a gas station as a cashier/attendant, and no matter how bad my day was going or how rude some of the customers could be, a major part of my job was to have a smile on my face and be pleasant and helpful to each and every person that walked through the door. If your staff is not properly trained, or people tend to annoy them and they have a difficult time masking this emotion in front of the patrons they are supposed to be tending to? (TBC)

I also have Shell rewards so I was able to get another 10 cents off per gallon. While I did not go inside, the outside seemed clean and the pumps were quick. Would definitely stop by again next time I am in the area!

The biscuit was actually better than some fast foods in the area and I appreciated that it has a 'better before 10am' written on it, gives you that little peace of mind. But the best part is the slushies! I'm a fan of them and they have a few different flavors hence the lack of bottle water in the picture. They have a few more different hot snacks that you can grab and go, the one thing I would've loved to see was an all in one meat biscuit or croissant (Bacon and sausage or bacon, ham and sausage). Definitely coming back for those slushies though.

Every time I go into the store I actually had a situation where my car had broke down and that's the closest place. I can get it. I went in as a regular and I did ask if I could leave it there Because I knew my son-in-law wouldn't be able to get to it for about three days which saved me a pretty big bill in towing. They were so kind and understanding about it. I stopped in the next day and they didn't make me feel embarrassed or anything. They just treated me like the loyal customer and like I would expect a friend to treat me. This is what I would want from my employees and especially anyone under distress. They all three deserve recognition because it wasn't only this but every other time I've been in there Even if it's been a bad day their smiles and personalities and great Customer Service always make me leave their feeling good. So I feel I needed to leave this reveal because I would want my employees to get the recognition. They deserve when they act as professional and kind and helpful as these three. Thanks guys! I'm used to gas stations having a full kitchen and coffee bar lol anyways.....I frequent this location because it's close to the house and it's on the right side of the road for me. Pros: multiple fuel pumps that work, lots of drinks and snack options, boiled peanuts!!!! Lol and the staff has always been friendly. Cons: small location, if it's a busy time of day and you're claustrophobic don't go inside. If you are used to food in the gas station and wand a grab and go lunch this ain't it. Needs updated, shelving, register, doors....it's just an old place and shows. My biggest problem with this location is that every other night it's closed or open, the hours seem to be inconsistent. It is supposedly a 24 hr place but that seems to change by the day/week and when it's closed the pumps are also off. Parking is not to hot if you are only going to get drinks or anything besides fuel. Yes there are parking spots but they are in inconvenient places.
