And now I have a receipt. Easy in and the out required some timing to cross the uphill traffic to the opposite side. I'm a pro at manual transmissions at this point, so no problem. This…read moreAral is across the street from the Ibis hotel, so it is a convenient place to get a drink or a snack (but the Rewe and other grocery stores and very close, so for most stuff it's better to "shop" elsewhere). However, like any good convenience store, it has a full selection of cold drinks (the blue Monster Absolute Zero is my drink of choice) and snacks. They also have a little "mini bistro" that I've been to twice now, the first time for a bratwurst and this time for a bockwurst, and both were good. The lady working was friendly and there's a little place to sit and eat. I would and will return for future drink purchases and quick snacks. Also, to speak to the car service part, while I was there a woman came it to ask about her car, which wasn't running right I presume, and the other worker (mechanic?) went out to look at it for her, and he seemed pleasant about it.

I hate to say it but these German cashiers really are not so friendly to Americans and I don't think they should work in a place where they're going to disrespect customers and insult our intelligence. Yesterday, my husband put gas at the ESSO gas station right off of ROB. The pin my husband entered was not being accepted which resulted in his card being locked. I advised him to call the number on the back of the card and he spoke to an awesome customer service representative: Ralph; who told him to come by this ESSO gas station to see what was the issue. When we got to this shoppette, we asked to speak to someone and these 2 German Female cashiers started giving my husband a very hard time (telling him to call the number which he did, then they tried to say they couldn't help us but then when some reiterated what we said, they basically tried to act like they were not wrong and said they could assist, which is what we had been telling them from the beginning.) Anyway, a sweet American cashier female looked into the system and saw that there was no pin registered to his card so they refunded my husband the amount he shouldn't have paid. Only reason why they don't get 5 stars is because the American cashier told us there have been many complaints about those two German females and I honestly feel this issue needs to be fixed. This is a Military establishment and everyone should be treated with kindness. If they don't want to serve us, they shouldn't work there, period. Other than that, Ralph is a great ESSO rep and so was Gabby!
