I've gone to Shepard's 3-4 times by now, usually when my regular place is booked. I've always found them to be polite, responsive, and very helpful. Unlike most places around Sneads Ferry, I can usually get in for an oil change on the same day I call, and with my business being very driving-heavy, that's really important to me. They were also the only place in the Sneads Ferry/Holly Ridge/Topsail area that could get me the tires I wanted on short notice, and they installed them for a VERY reasonable price. They also charge less for an oil change than my other place. I love the friendly, upbeat service here, too. They're always very sweet! read more

Wanted to charge me two hours of labor for a ten minute job I learned to do on YouTube.

Took my vehicle here to get a head gasket changed. They ended up keeping my vehicle for over a month I called twice to check on the status and they told me that if I called again they would just stop working on it and push it out the door. The people there are very rude and the most unprofessional people. They ripped my seat. Told them the heat didn't work and it still doesn't. They over charge u for all the parts. They don't ever tell u the truth. read more

God forbid you bring your vehicle to these people. They didn't even what the spark plugs were on my car. I brought the parts in and they said these aren't for your vehicle, these aren't spark plugs. Are you kidding me?!? What a waste of an auto shop. Then they want to over charge and say it's going to take this amount of hours to fix when in reality it's hours less than what they say to fix it if you take it to a different shop. All they want is your money. Greedy people who take and take then give back a car that has more problems than what it originally had. Do not go here!!! read more

Stopped by this shop looking for used parts out of their yard. The woman who works the front desk was very pleasant and very helpful. She even walked me out into the yard to help me find the cars that I needed to pull parts off of. HOWEVER... after we found the car parts that I needed she told me that she had to talk to their yard manager for the prices on the parts before I could go out and pull them and she couldn't find him while I was in the office so she took my phone number and said she would call me with the prices. I still haven't recieved a call and have no plan on returning since they don't seem to care enough to even attempt to sell me parts. read more

Not even really going to go into detail on why they are terrible. Mostly terrible customer service took them 2 weeks to get power steering replaced. Then I get my vehicle back and the tie rod is bent that's going to cost me out of pocket. Horrible service and wrong charges. Charged me for towing after just getting my car back, after being there for 4 days. Charged me for a used ignition module (nobody asked me if they could put a used one in, or not-I would have said no), and it failed. So, they picked it up and charged me $75 for towing, when I was sure it would be under warranty. They told me the 2nd time that they would put a new one in, and charge me the difference. The sales slip says that they put another used one in, but they charged me another $152.54 for the 2nd used one. The first sales slip has another person's name and address on it, with my phone number. I tried repeatedly to get Mr. Shepard on the phone and the customer service gal said she would ask him about the towing charge, but she would call me back. I said, no, please have HIM call me back. I finally got a voice-mail from the gal, who said that he would not be covering the towing charge. I have not heard from Mr. Shepard to this day. read more

They take the time to ask more questions and find the root of the problem. They use quality products and get you in and out as quick as they can. There mechanics do good work and they warranty their work as well. That is something that is helpful when going to a mechanic shop. read more

Got fixed what was broken, can't complain about that. However each time I went there something was always not right. Had a belt replaced and a week later I hear a noise and find a long screwdriver knocking against the fan housing. I had A/C work done and I find the valve caps missing. It's the little things like this and the length of time it takes to get service completed that guides my ranking. read more

I would give a zero if I could. Turned my car in one week before my vacation and asked them to fix everything wrong with it. they said that should be plenty of time, they ended up keeping my car for 12 days because they said a bolt didnt come in, and I had to drive a different car on my leave coating me an extra 700 dollars to get that car ready, I took it to vw and it was done in 4 hours. Total cost was 1600 I paid to get my car fixed from shepards on the 27th of December. On the 5th of January, mind you the car might have been driven 80 miles since I picked it up, my engine light came back on. I took it in for them to see what's wrong and they called me saying it would cost 700 dollars to fix because now the air pump had water in it from a crack in the line. I said I found it hard to believe it's just coincidence my car is broken less than ten days after paying 1600 to Shepards and wanted another opinion. They tried to get me to pay the diagnostic fee of 70 dollars again, I did not. Absurd. read more
