    Our car was smashed up so badly that insurance wanted to total it at first. Jason &co worked within our budget and helped us find used parts to keep cost down, and had the car looking good as new within a couple weeks. They were extremely patient and helpful, and kept our situation in mind: each time we stopped by or called them, they helped us do what we wanted to do, not what would make them the most money. We're so grateful, and you will be too if you take your car here.

    I brought my vehicle to Auto & Tire Doctor in Truckee for an oil change and tire rotation…read more After the service was completed, I spoke with Daniel at the front desk and mentioned a concern about making sure the under-body panel used during the oil service had been properly secured. During that conversation, I happened to notice that my tires did not appear to have been rotated correctly. I had requested a tire rotation, and Daniel confirmed that it had been performed. However, upon inspecting the vehicle, I could see that the passenger-side tires had been swapped front-to-back while the driver-side tires had not. I was able to identify this because the tires on my vehicle have different tread patterns, making it easy to determine whether they had been moved. When I pointed this out, Daniel initially maintained that the tire rotation had been completed. After I showed him the difference between the passenger and driver sides, I was given several explanations regarding tire placement, vehicle handling, and concerns about the condition of my tires. None of those explanations addressed the fact that one side of the vehicle had clearly not been rotated. Eventually, another employee stepped in, acknowledged that the driver-side tires may have been missed, and immediately offered to bring the vehicle back into the shop to correct the issue. I appreciated that he took responsibility and worked to resolve the situation. My concern was not the mistake itself. Mistakes happen. What I found disappointing was the response when the issue was brought to Daniel's attention. Rather than simply acknowledging the possibility of an oversight and correcting it, I felt my concerns were dismissed and met with repeated explanations that did not address the actual problem. During the interaction, Daniel also made comments about wanting to "get this lady out of here" and referred to it being "Tuesday" while discussing the situation with staff. Whether intended that way or not, the comments came across as dismissive and unprofessional, particularly while I was trying to resolve a legitimate concern regarding work that had not been completed. The tire rotation charge was removed from my bill, and the work was ultimately completed correctly. I appreciate the employee who stepped in, acknowledged the issue, and resolved it. Based on this experience, I would encourage customers to verify that all requested services have been completed before leaving and to carefully review any work performed on their vehicle.     I brought my Toyota Highlander in for a simple rear bumper replacement after it was damaged in a…read moreparking lot. They replaced the bumper and painted in perfectly, no problem, but the paint they applied didn't match the paint on the rest of the body of the car. When I first pointed out the issue, they denied there was any difference. Then they tried to explain the difference as resulting from painting on the plastic bumper vs. the metal body. When I pointed to the plastic front bumper which matched perfectly, they said that only the factory could do that and that no body shop could match the paint. Now I've had many other vehicles repaired at body shops and never once had an issue with matching paint. They offered to paint the car again, so I asked what they would do differently the second time. They said they would order the same paint from the same supplier and use the same process. I asked why they would expect a different outcome. They said it wouldn't change, so I said that was a waste of their time and mine. They then offered to repaint the bumper in a color that I felt matched as a courtesy. But that it too would look different on plastic than the metal samples they would provide. I said it's their job to pick a paint to match, not mine. I suggested that they try different paints on the old bumper that they had removed so that we'd see what it really looks like on plastic. "Oh, we can't do that". Having ignored the only logical path forward, that was the end of the conversation. I left with my multicolored car and will not return. See photo. I will go to another body shop to have the car painted properly in a matching color. I have rarely encountered a business which so fundamentally misunderstand or outright ignores the basic tenet of the service they provide - to restore the car to original condition prior to the accident. They were perfectly content with the work they had done and offered no reasonable solution to the readily apparent problem they had caused. I would strongly recommend that anyone prospective customer think twice before using this body shop.
