Don't waste your time or money at the cold springs location. The game master was very inattentive and the props are falling apart. We were given a clue (without us asking) that was not correct. As a result we lost a lot of time trying to do it the way she instructed and she did not intervene. I finally said forget what she said and did it my way (which worked). There were supposed to be clues on the wall only seen by black light but many of the clues were missing/ not legible. I have been to 15+ escape rooms with many companies (4th one at Sherlock) this was by far the worst experience of all of them. Don't go. read more

What a difficult thing to do- translate a race against the clock immersive experience into a virtual one during a pandemic. I wasn't sure how it was going to work out, but having the chance to attend a virtual event and give it a whirl, I was pretty excited. I've been missing escape rooms, and this time I didn't have to leave the house! Overall- this was a lot of fun! Considering the limitations presented by distance and safety, and different levels of technological experience and equipment on the side of the users, it was much better than I expected. The actor/victim (Aiden) was good, attentive and responsive to our suggestions, we were able to see the whole room, as well as his personal view. The puzzles were about what you'd expect from in person, and while it was a little harder to read things due to logistics, it still worked pretty well. The 'how to' tutorial at the front of the escape room (the whole thing handled nicely by Xander) was interesting, though only laid out how to really work the system using a laptop, so we had a few players struggling throughout to get the best views of the game itself. I feel like perhaps it was made a little easier, in terms of puzzles, because it was harder to spread out a group of people and have them all search and etc. to find clues, and we got out of the room handily. It didn't have the same rush of anxiety that being trapped in a room personally and feeding off of the excitement of your friends can get you, but I was engaged anyway. I was a little curious what would happen if we'd failed to help our victim escape. If you're missing escape rooms badly, this is absolutely worth the time. Thanks so much for having us! read more

We had a great experience in the Shed Room. We did have a few clues but we got off track and were guided in the right direction. Thanks to Kaden and his clues we managed to escape. Kaden did meet his own demise while we were trying to figure out clues. Suddenly he reappeared and started talking to us again. There were a few equipment hiccups but the crew stepped in and gave a wonderful clue for the faulty item we couldn't get to work. Amazing thing was that it played a religious station. This is so much fun!! I participated in a virtual escape room (the Shed) through a Yelp elite event and it exceeded my expectations. I was curious how an escape room would work virtually, and also a little skeptical that it would be as fun as an in person experience. This did not disappoint! The set up was awesome with having a view of the room and a view through the victim.... also, it was pretty fun to just yell at someone to do things throughout the room. It was a little bit of a learning curve and takes more attention to detail over the computer but I highly suggest giving the virtual experience a try! read more

I've long been a fan of Sherlock's Florence location and I only recently found out about their Cold Springs Location. I came here with a couple friends and tried out "The Shed" escape room. There were multiple rooms within our experience which was great to make it feel like we were continuously discovering something new. The puzzles were difficult but logical, and the surprise "twist" at the end made for a really fun escaping experience. What I like about Sherlock's is that they're great at recommending rooms for your group too. With only three people, we were told that the room would be a challenge (but we managed to squeak out with 30 seconds remaining. If you have fewer people, you may want to call and ask them for a recommendation (as rooms like "Motel Room 13" are difficult and better for larger/more advanced groups). Something else that Sherlock's does well is that they record video and photos while you're in the escape room in order to build up sufficient material to embarass you after you've escaped (or failed to escape). Without the burden of a doubt, I can say that I will definitely be back to do the rest of the escape rooms at The Cold Springs location....since I've already done all of them at the Florence location. Love love love these escape rooms! I tried this for the first time at the florence location during a Yelp event and used a discount code to try this spot. Both are great you can't go wrong. We were in The Shed. I think it was a mid level room and we had a team of 3, one who has done plenty of escape rooms, myself, and one who was trying it for the first time. It's so much fun watching how every person thinks and how they deal with the stress( though fun) of trying to figure out clues. We got out of the room with 30 seconds to spare. The highlight is the videos and pictures they show you at the end. It's so funny to realize your mannerisms or reflect back on your thought process and laugh at yourself. read more

I recently went to Sherlock's Escape Rooms as part of a bachelorette party and had a great time! It was my first escape room, so I wasn't sure quite what to expect. But our guide Jade led us through everything and was really friendly and funny! We did the "Motel Room 13" room. The room was very well decorated! It was super fun to try to escape and figure out the clues. Some of the clues were very difficult! Jade was great though and she could tell when we were getting stumped and would ask if wanted a small hint. Even after getting several hints, we weren't able to escape. We had 5 people and apparently made it just over halfway through in the hour time period. Each room has a different difficulty level. The Motel Room 13 was a 9/10 difficultly. If you've never been to an escape room or to Sherlock Escape Rooms, I'd definitely recommend it! From start to finish, it was a fantastic experience! read more

I just finished doing an escape room with my husband for his birthday today (on December 17) and we found it very interesting and unusual. We did the Lost Kingdom and it proved to be very challenging, but a good experience. The room followed no logic at all. Our game master had two rooms and didnt pay attention to us when we needed help. She didnt know what we already figured out so the clues she gave us didnt help at all. The one drawer closed on my moms hand and hurt it as well. I don't recommend this unless you are not a logical person cause it made absolutely no logical sense. read more

I was really hesitant about doing a virtual escape room, I've done a few in person and just didn't know how it would work. Essentially there is an actor who you help solve puzzles throughout the room. I was able to experience this escape room as a yelp event, and it really was a great time. At first it was a little awkward giving the "victim" stuff to do but as it progressed we all got more and more invested and were truly immersed in the experience! HOWEVER, the absolute BEST part of this experience is how involved I was in the experience helped me feel like this was a normal experience, which was seriously incredible. After having a great time at the "Yelp Cracks the Code" Elite event in Florence, I was excited to use my generous 50% off coupon code for the Cold Springs location. I had a friend come into town who had never done an escape room before so I knew that this was the perfect opportunity to introduce him to the awesome experience of one. I decided on doing The Shed - I heard it was difficult but I had also heard great things about this room so I figured I would give it a shot. While we didn't escape the room, we came pretty close and had an awesome time. We could not stop laughing throughout the entire experience. Needless to say - the room was a bit creepy and we are both very jumpy people. Watching the videos afterwards was hysterical. I was also ecstatic to have Lauren as my game master - she brings so much fun to the experience and was extremely helpful throughout the process. I loved that The Shed had multiple rooms and was not necessarily a linear escape room. It was definitely challenging and I would love to go back and try to get out with more people. I would recommend having 3-5 people in order to get out of this one. What I love about Sherlock's is that the price of these rooms goes by person rather than a set room price divided by the amount of people participating. The $26 per person rate is affordable and worth it - plus the business has deals posted on facebook and their yelp page to defray the cost! Solid change of pace, very different but pleasant outing for a group, but could use a little more vetting for first arrivals as we seemed a bit rushed into the rooms in question without comprehensive explanation as to how it works entirely, clues being parceled out, things of that nature. My boyfriend and I went here at 3pm on a Thursday on a whim, escaped The Shed, and it was a blast! The Room Master, Pirate Steve, was fantastic. We were the only people there, and he carried the enthusiasm of someone catering to a large group. Needless to say, he clearly loves this place. We made it out with only thirty seconds to spare (thanks to some hints from Pirate Steve). We had such a wonderful time, we are planning on trying a different room very soon. read more

Fun but not well designed. One of the coolest puzzles doesn't work consistently so we wasted about 15 minutes trying to solve it only to learn at the end that the computer was down so it was essentially broken and therefore unsolvable. Apparently that's a frequent issue. Clues given by staff (Lily) were either too specific or not helpful and making everyone in the group stand on one leg in order to get a clue is asinine and annoying. There are better designed escape rooms in the Cincinnati area - go to those instead! read more
