They do give you a map, though, which we definitely should've paid more attention to. lol. Just keep going all the way to see more gorgeous views and scenery. I had no idea it involved a little hike, so I was hopping over wet spots in my cute dress sandals. It wasn't too bad, but don't be like me, wear some comfortable walking shoes! My sister used to play her soccer games there every weekend. But when I went there was no playground. It was just a big grassy area. Now they have a huge playground apparatus. I especially like this park because it's different. Most of the other parks are all cookie cutter kind of playground equipment. They all have pretty much the same design. But this one has more climbing thing. They have ropes to climb, a more challenging stairway to get up to the slide, hand bicycles, and balancing things. My daughter loves coming to this park. It always nice because we've been there a few times already and it's almost always empty. I gave only four stars because the flies there are awful. I don't even know where they are coming from since there wasn't a trash bin or anything nearby. But it was like you couldn't even stand in one spot for a minute. The flies just kept coming on you and it was getting annoying. Hopefully it was just that day. I'll test it out again.

Enter the dreamland of playground wonderland!…read more As I was searching on Yelp for Aikahi Elementary School for their Swap Meet event the first thing that popped up was their Playground...!?! So random...No...have you seen this land of happy dreams even as an adult. First thing you see is the giant Dragon with each scale encase a tile with art by children and those tiles are at entrance area as well. I wanted to take more pictures but it was filled with children "of course lol!" and didn't want to take their faces but the rock wall, Turtle hideaway, even a tree house looking play area I was just so impressed. I assume it's exclusively for the school students but open to all on this day did draw an impressive crowd understandably, and what a great environment to have the kids go outside and just have fun. So highly recommended the drive for any events they may have as this is an impressive park that will please all ages! Thank you!

While there's snow on the East Coast of the mainland USA, it's a breezy 80 degrees (in the middle of December) on the Windward side of Oahu Island in the 50th State! Yes! I took for granted my tropical paradise home. Traveling makes me appreciate our island lifestyle... Here's a look at one of our many neighborhood parks... Heeia is a laid back, residential district in Kaneohe. It's north of Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii. A popular park is Heeia Neighborhood Park because of the free parking, basketball courts, baseball field, children's playground equipment, and convenient restroom. There's even a few picnic tables - with attached benches - and water fountains! I'm just celebrating life in the Aloha State and wanted to share some sunshine with you wherever you are! He'eia Neighborhood Park, off of Haiku Road is nearby the Windward Mall Shopping Center and other shopping complex'. There's a small parking lot in front and, if necessary, the He'eia Elementary School's parking lot is utilized as an additional parking lot next door. The baseball park is named after the legendary Aunty Alice Hewett of Kaneohe. She is one of the greatest women to take charge and organizing sporting events around Kaneohe for the keiki. She's the best! Ultimately, He'eia Neighborhood Park is a nice place to come and relax. Or to enjoy a sporting event as a player or fan! Enjoy!!

This is the beach that locals go to and I am so glad she told us about it. The water is turquoise, the waves were calm and we sat under a huge tree that I didn't want to leave. I really wished someone told us about this beach on day 1. I loved how the shore was so short and it was definitely family friendly. However, there is not a parking spot to be found at ou town's most popular beach attraction; Kailua Beach Park! On to the local hang out near the Friendly Sherwood Forest. Plenty of parking, a nice walkway to outdoor showers & a rest room area to change & use the facilities. Plenty of shade near the ocean and the sandy beach makes that toes in the sand feel all so very real! Waves are coming in big today so a little boogie boarding is in order! Word to the wise, no life guards in this particular spot today, so buddying up, is the only safe way! Lots of local folks grilling, chilling and having fun with da two & four legged kids! A great get away with the comforts of all our State taxes provide! Living the Aloha!

Literally as Yelp direction kept leading me to Kapiolani Community College though close but not where it's at as it's actually to the left of Diamond Head State Park entrance which is quite easy to find. This little park is a slight hidden place that's pretty green and decently maintained with a couple of areas for you to enjoy one is closer to the entrance that has a lovely peek of the Wilhemina Rise area and a lovely place that I thought would be the perfect photo op spot for a cool gift from a thoughtful friend with BunBun is this cool cooler tote from TJ's! Using one of a bunch of stones and some benches for a place to relax and noticed a giant rock with a plaque that's a time capsule which will be opened on October 24, 2049! The other section is a bit more shaded as this circular garden has some stones placed with various peace quotes and though wanted to take more pics there was a gentleman chilling and didn't want to disturb him and majority of the area does have a path for easy access between gardens and up to Diamond Head as I've been here countless times and never knew this area existed is quite insane lol! A great spot for those that can't do the hike but enjoy a bit peace of time. Thank you!

There is a sign posted at the entrance, that was not there before of, no animals allowed among other things prohibited, but there were alot of pet owners, including myself, who came with their dogs to play for a while. In front of park, there is playground and basket ball courts. You had to cross the bridge to the grassy area. Below the bridge, there is a stream with where about 6 ducks hang out to drink water. I bet when it is rainy there is lots of water. It is not so good idea to skateboard or do biking riding tricks. Green grass area right next to the mountain. There is another entrance on left which only pedestrians can walk from residential area.
