It is my opinion that West Painting, Inc. is an untrustworthy contractor. After stripping the paint off the front of my house Mark West advised me that he made a mistake/typo on his quote, and that the labor cost for my project would be double ($20K+ instead of $10K). It is important to note that this was the labor price alone and didn't include materials or paint. The main body of the house is stone that required no paint. The $20K+ he was seeking was only for eaves, soffits, and fascias on a small 1900 SF house. Rather than honor his word by doing the job for the quoted price, Mark West instructed his crew to leave when I refused to pay the additional cost. He is either ignorant of his trade and estimating, or knowingly utilized bait and switch tactics to secure my business. Either way, I believe that Mark West is unprofessional and can't be trusted. Prospective customers would be wise to have an attorney review any contract or agreement presented by this individual.
