After reading so many good things about this place, we decided to come enjoy the AYCE sushi/sashimi. I have to say that our waiter was very very nice and attentive and that's the reason why this restaurant is getting a 2 star. We were excited to try a little bit of everything, so We ordered salmon and tuna, crab ran-goons, shumai, salmon avocado rolls, chicken teriyaki, shrimp teriyaki, banana tempura and green tea ice cream but unfortunately all the food was straight up BLAND and found about 5 bones among the 20 pieces of sashimi. They were out of red bean and only had 1 cup of green tea ice-cream!!! We usually eat more than 20 pieces but we stopped eating right after our first order. I usually eat sushi twice a week at Suki Hanna and I feel like I disrespected them by coming here. If you're looking for an abundance of sushi choices, this place is for you. They have affordable lunch prices which end at 3PM, and happy hour prices from 3PM-7PM. Keep in mind if you order rolls, they serve about 3 or 4 rolls for happy hour instead of 6. I appreciate them having meats such as steak and chicken as "side" items, because it helps me keep my portion sizes small. Never the less, everything I ordered was full of flavor, not needing the accompanying sauces. My only disappointment is in the decor, very drab and lifeless, and the lack of variety in their menu. There's no noodle soups, noodles or rice options unless you're ordering from their Hibachi section. Shiso Sushi sure is yummy. It's one of my favorite sushi spots. They serve sushi and habachi. The main reason I come here is because the sushi is good and the happy hour is amazing!!! If you come from 3-7pm they have happy hour everyday. Their sushi rolls are great prices. Ranging from $1.50 to $3.00 for the nicest rolls. Where else can you get tempura for $3.00?! My sushi of choice is Salmon and Advocado roll for (4pc) $2.50, Emporer Roll (4pc) $3.00 and Yummy Yummy Role (4pc) $3.00. That's a lot of sushi for $8.50. During happy hour I also enjoy a glass of Plum wine for $3.00 but they also offer other wine options, beer and sake hot or cold. I also get a Ginger salad for $2.50. My friend got the Nori Salad for $3.75 which is seaweed! I included a picture of the happy hour in photos. These prices are amazing. I've had their edamame before it's warm and yummy. For the non sushi eaters they have hibachi from chicken to steak. I've never ate here during non happy hours but their menu prices are good to begin with and they offer cuisine sushi. As for service and atmosphere this place is OK. I do like the warm colors for decor and nice lighting but it's a little outdated. The have a tv from the 90s lol and some flat screens. I don't like how close the tables are either. It can be awkward when your sitting two inches from a stranger while your trying to sip wine and have girl talk. The service here is ok. While you have their attention... servers are very receptive but other than that they seem a little un-attentive. They are always busy and well staffed with three servers for a small restaurant but they always seem to be at their register playing with their hair and chatting instead of checking on us. While I know we all need a little breather at work, I think it be more professional if they went behind the scenes to socialize. This isn't my first experience with the server not being attentive. The only thing I had was the lunch special sushi, which came with miso soup, a small salad, sashimi, and california rolls. The only part of it that was actually good was the miso soup. The salad wasn't a salad. It literally was the lettuce that you see in a burger, with a large tomato slice that you would see in a burger! I had a hard time eating that. It was topped with this strange sauce. The sashimi was okay, there were two salmon, white tuna, yellowtail, and I can't remember what else. The rice underneath the fish didn't taste good! Didn't taste like normal sushi rice. Plus there was no little dab was wasabi like there normally is! What?? The california rolls were so bad. The crab meat was left just as a big chunk, which I had never seen before in these rolls. The rice, again, didn't taste good. Overall I had to just force it down to eat something. The happy hour menu is a great time to try a lot of their menu but for half the price, and the portions are generous! Our waitress was very attentive and filled my water at least 4 times since I drink so much of it, she was very friendly. We tried all sorts of appetizers and sushi but my favorite was the gyoza and tempura shrimp roll. My friends nigiri looked incredibly fresh, we all commented how beautiful it looked. This little hole in the wall gets slammed during happy hour from the times I've been but the wait isn't long at all, people are constantly in and out. I ordered the Spicy Tuna roll and the JB (Japanese Bagel) roll. My friend had the Avocado roll and the Spicy Tuna roll. Maybe if I had ordered the Avocado roll I would have been spared a severe upset stomach. The food was fine. Nothing memorable. But I had a horrible upset stomach that I never usually get from eating sushi. That being said, the prices were REALLY affordable during their happy hour. We had a very bad experience at Shiso sushi. We will not be returning. We had a party of 5 with a toddler. We came for ACYe sushi's but when we were seated we weren't given then AYCe menu. We came in two hours before close. It took forever for a server to come by and one woman did but when we were literally in the middle of ordering drinks without saying anything she just left...she finally came back after we flagged her down but it took 20 mins to get drinks. Then when they weren't happy that we asked for AYCE sushi. They begrudgingly gave us the AYCE menu. We quickly got our first order in and it took an entire hour to receive any food. They aren't like normal AYCE sushi where they send out what is ready. They hold it all back until the entire order is ready. Very inefficient. We did get one more round of sushi in before we left but it was like pulling teeth to order at this place. Also the sushi (rolls and nigiri) is really not good. Very poor quality sushi. The nigiri has way too much mediocre rice which totally kills the quality. The rolls were honestly bland. The only item we did enjoy were the crab Rangoons. read more

I ordered steamed pork dumplings (6), and 2 sushi rolls (4 rolls each) for less than $10. Not only was it cheap but pretty tasty. The dumplings were fresh and light with a subtle but good pork flavor. I ordered the Philadelphia roll and the yummy yummy roll, both delicious! I am not the biggest sushi connoisseur so I usually stick to basic rolls so I can't speak for the more adventurous rolls but I really enjoyed both rolls.
