In 2018 I suffered an industrial accident which left me permanently disabled. I was referred to and…read morehired Guinn Law Team, owned by James Guinn. Over the next few years he became what I thought was my trusted friend and advisor. We spoke candidly often. Following his divorce during Covid things changed. I had 2 consequential injury claims that seemed to be going no where for months. Failed medical and prescriptions, unresolved or unexplained claim settlements that remained pending until he announced his retirement and the sale of his Firm to Micheal Lew, just a few months ago. I never received any letter of the transfer of power nor a request for my authorization for my files be forwarded to this man I don't know. A month ago I received a call from Mr. Lew. The conversation became redundant since he seemed to know little about my case, nor offered me a new Client/Attorney Contract. Following that I awaited his promised call back which never came, maybe a letter, nothing. I sent an email to him with my concern and complaint on July 1st. I received no reply. This week I received an email showing his "disengagement" letter to both my case workers at Saif Corp. which means I no longer have a lawyer. Almost immediately I got a call from my case worker who said "now we can talk". She gave me the tools to resolve months of multiple delays in one day. Micheal's resignation is the best thing that could've happened to me. I think the guy is too green to help anyone proficiently if that don't have a cut and try claim. Please protect yourself and screen your lawyers before you sign anything. This guy wasn't even smart enough to ask me to sign anything! CF

I was represented by Nicholas with Workmans comp case and I was in the dark most of the time as he never explained anything. The only thing he did accomplish was getting me more money in my monthly payments to live on ,as I was off for seven months, however he misguided me and had me sign a document that caused me to not receive a settlement. I now live with a nerve injury caused by my comp surgery which causes pain daily and zero monetary compensation for that. I would not recommend Nicholas Cordes . I truly believe that the lawyer you hire to represent you, should represent you, and this guy completely let me down ,he was on board with my employer instead of me.

I initially had a positive experience with Hooten and Chen LLP. Communication with Mr. Chen started…read morestrong and there was early momentum. My case involved long-term exposure issues tied to a workers' compensation matter, so I understood the added complexity and the need for careful handling. Over time, however, progress stalled. While I was repeatedly asked whether I was willing to move forward and sign, I was never actually provided with documents or a concrete opportunity to do so. I made it clear I was prepared to proceed, yet meaningful action and filings never materialized. Instead, communication became fragmented and slow. After nearly two years, I was referred out to another firm due to overlapping employment termination issues. Unfortunately, that referral resulted in being effectively dropped by both parties, leaving me without representation and forced to navigate the process independently. Since then, I have undergone surgery and am currently in recovery while pursuing specialized aquatic rehabilitation therapy, all of which I coordinated myself. At this point, the outcome of my medical recovery and claim progress has come from my own persistence rather than legal advocacy. While I understand the risks involved in challenging large employers, clients deserve transparency, follow-through, and continuity of representation. My experience felt more like being delayed and passed along than actively supported. If you choose to work with this firm, I strongly recommend securing written timelines, clear deliverables, and documented next steps from the beginning.

I got lucky. I can't recommend this law firm enough. When I first started contacting law firms to…read moredeal with my disability case, I chose to go with Schneider, Kerr & Robichaux (SKR) based on mundane things like returning phone calls in a timely manner and answering my myriad of questions patiently and informedly. You can "fight City Hall" and having come from a public service career I knew this to be true as long as we remember that we are the tortoise. This can be a long process (I filed my initial claim on 4/27/17 on my own and won my case on May 21, 2019) and you need patience constantly. The staff and attorneys gladly guided me through all the processes to get to the finish line. I asked to meet with staff in person more than once and they made appointments with me. As I got closer to my hearing date, gave me guidelines for getting letters from friends and former business partners to submit to the judge. My attorney, Geoff Keirnan, met with me and coached me on how to best answer questions. On hearing day, he prepped me again and the whole hearing took less than 30 minutes with me doing most of the talking. On July 8, I received my check for my back pay of 24 months from the US Treasury. What a mind blowing event that was. I would highly recommend them. All they do is disability law. There is always someone to talk to or they return phone calls promptly. I want to personally thank Brian P, Zack F, Bernardo, Charlie M, Kim S and Geoff Keirnan who all worked with me and on my case so that my win can only exist with them, not without them. Don't go this process entirely alone. File initially on your own and then start turning to an attorney for assistance. Know your history---work, medical, mental and social---and write it down. Talk to your health professionals about your condition. Call past providers to encourage their participation in the process. Ask friends and colleagues to write letters as you get further into the claim process. Update the law firm for any changes that occur that effect your health and your daily life.

I spent the entire time trying to get them to even show up to their own appointments. They were no shows multiple times. I haven't worked in ten years.
