Personally, I've always found Marikina's fascination with shoes a bit odd. That's not to say however that the Shoe Museum does not have its own merits. It's absolutely intriguing how First Lady Imelda Marcos managed to donate nearly 750 pairs of shoes to this cultural center - even more intriguing is how one could own that many pairs!
At less than a hundred pesos, you won't even feel the entrance fee making a big dent on your wallet, but you will feel it making a dent on your #artsy personality. Unfortunately, that dent won't be seen on your Instagram feed as pictures and videos are not allowed anywhere in the museum.
The Shoe Museum also displays the craft of shoemaking, from beginning to finished product. I've never heard of it being full, and it definitely wasn't when I went. It's a must to check out if you're trying to tick off museums to visit in Metro Manila. read more
