They also stock loads of traditional sweets, penny chews etc, fresh milk, a good selection of greetings cards, general stationary, they have a lottery machine and a cash machine (however, you are charged for cash) Friendly staff and a convienient location. I think the newsagents might be called Village news now, it is next to Hampsons and Bargin Booze in Bromley Cross, opposite the Coop. After a vast magazine section and fridges of drinks and sandwiches there is a huge range of cards including some very cute easter ones, many a large box of chocolate son the shelves behind the counter and a long row of shelved near the back displaying everything from a wide range of tinned, jarred and packeted food to children's toys, home ware and stationery. If this was your local newsagent you may find yourself tempted to not leave your immediate locality...what with Wright's of Moortown down nearby meeting all your fruits and veg needs and two charity shops you could probably fill your fridge, kitchen cupboards, kid's toy box, desk drawer, magazine rack and meet most of your everyday purchasing needs in your slippers (if you felt like it)!

Fireworks(when appropriate) ice cream , drinks and stationary items and have an board for adverts in the window. As well as the newspapers(well it IS a newsagent!)they have an amazing array of magazines. They also have a National Lottery terminal and also offer a newspaper delivery service.

Considering the wilderness of retail that is Rawdon this place is really useful and well used by the locals. It sells all the usual suspects including a huge range of local and national newspapers, magazines, a range of cards, gum, tobacco, stationary, canned goods, drinks (including those super cheap but e-number-tastic little 20p cartons), chocolate, crisps and all sorts else. The staff are friendly enough although the shop has its restrictions - they only allow two school children in at any one time (which is understandable) and if you turn to the left whilst in the queue you will see a rather large, erm, *adult* magazine section staring you right in the face. This section, of course, only caters for the men of Rawdon. Being a hardened feminist one can rise above these things, sadly it is to be expected in any standard newsy. A reasonably priced and handy (no pun - promise!) little store.

A nice WHSmith store in Burnley town centre, it is part of Charterwalk Shopping Centre and has the…read moretown's only Post Office at the back of the store. While it is only a small store, it does feel slightly nicer than other locations as they've replaced the outdated carpet with a nice wooden floor, which makes the store more cleaning and more appealing. The selection is OK, although it is small in some areas they did have a nice selection of books and stationery. The drinks fridge and selection of newspapers/magazines was smaller than an average WHSmith store. 3* - Good store for books/stationery or visiting the Post Office but they don't seem to have the whole WHSmith offering you'd expect.
