Met a friend here for hibachi. If you like hibachi, you would likely like this place. A bit dated on the outside, but the food was good. So was the service. Drinks were strong.

Hibachi chicken with fried rice and vegetables. Compliment hibachi shrimp.

We had lunch here today. We enjoyed it. It's quite casual. The atmosphere is a bit loud. The food was pretty good and the service was good. We had hibachi (they also have sushi and hot pot). I had teppanyaki chicken with fried rice and vegetables and hubby had Teppanyaki steak. Both were flavorful and portions were good. Both came with salad and onion soup. Also two shrimp. The soup was great! The salad was ok. The dressing is like watered down ginger flavored mayonnaise. Not my favorite, but edible. The shrimp were really good. Probably get that as my entree if we go back. My portion of chicken and fried rice was huge! The chef was fun and friendly. It's worth the price compared to other places. It is a $3.50 add on to have fried rice and I found that strange. Overall, it's good.

went here with a friend and we split the lunch special. honestly a great deal $20 for 2 special rolls and you can add a third for $8. the rolls themselves are HUGE and very filling. the lunch combo also comes w a soup or salad. the drinks were typical dallas prices lol $14-$16 for a cocktail but they were really good, def tasted like they use quality ingredients behind the bar.. service was good, we were really the only people there lol like 2 pm on a tuesday. place was really cute and spacious, i'd return to check out the hibachi for sure

Grill with awkward downdraft where chef stands

The food is Good, service needs a lot of work! Sat us down and nobody came by for almost 30 mins to get drink order. Appeared they only had 2 servers on a Saturday night. A big party cleared out when we sat down and the restaurant was half empty afterwards. The Hibachi chef did a good job, but kept complaining about the downdraft ventilation, that definitely is in an awkward spot. Food cooked to order well and portions were a good size. When finished took 15 mins to get the bill and he brought it out for the whole table, when it was obvious we were 3 separate parties! They also put 20% tip automatically on the bill and left no spot for additional tip ( not that we were going to give any). I will not rush back, though may go to try their " hot pots".

The food was really good!! Shaggy dog roll was really tasty. Combo fried rice with steak and chicken, no peas or carrots was outstanding! The steak was cooked MR as requested and the chicken was really moist. I would recommend that they give you a knife or cut the chicken/steak into bite size pieces. Very minor!! The salad dressing was unique and tasty. Onion soup was just ok but I'm not a soup person. Very nice bar with all the TVs from the previous sports bars. Great selection of beer and wine. I will say that the manager went above and beyond for the service. Bartender didn't really know the menu but the manager more than made up for it by explaining things. I will definitely be back!!

Came here alone for hotpot, and it was pretty good! The tables for hotpot were really big, so i had a lot of room for myself & the portions are pretty big as well + fresh. My server Javen was also super helpful and attentive to me when I was deciding what to order. definitely visiting again!

Shogun just recently open so we give it a try The food are amazing the service was ok. My daughter get hotpot but they didn't give her a soup bowl.she use the soy sauce dish or dipping bowl so she can eat the hot pot. We understand that maybe the staff was getting settle in and overwhelmed because they just open. But the food are awesome. And very spacious.

We wanted to try new/different place today and that's how we ended up here this evening. It was little after 5pm and it wasn't too busy and we got seated right away. I guess the plan was to wait for more customers to fill the table for the teppanyaki chef, but it ended up just the 2 of us. We ordered spicy crawfish rolls and rainbow rolls to start. They were very big and tasty. When our chef showed up, we told him to please no theatrics or tricks. We just wanted him to cook the food and he was happy about our request, bc it'd make it very easy for him. We ordered shrimp/scallops combo and shrimp/lobster and scallops combo. He cooked them perfectly and timely manner and they were so delicious. Our server was very attentive. The manager came by our table and asked how everything was. We felt so welcome. Inside the restaurant is very spacious, but in my opinion, they could use more ventilation as I saw lots of smoke from cooking, but no where for the smoke to really go. As we were leaving, more people started to roll in. We will definitely return next time.

Good service, exceptional atmosphere, good food…read more I ordered the Edoko #1 roll, pumpkin tempura, and squid tempura. The Pumpkin and Squid Tempura was nothing special, but was good. The Edoko #1 roll was the standout of my meal. Most rolls that have this many ingredients are mediocre because none of the ingredients are distinguishable, but this roll was great and presented very well. My only gripe would be that the roll was hard to fit in one's mouth My partner got some robata, pork Gyoza, and the hot stone beef. The robata was good, and the pork Gyoza was great, but the hot rock was disappointing. The beef was extremely thin and you only got a few pieces. Cooking on the rock was difficult, causing the beef to stick and shred. Finally, the beef was served with a large portion of regular slice mushrooms that seems to still have the dirt from the package on them.

I got gyoza, yakitori chicken, yakiniku short ribs, and the hot rock. The gyoza was more equivalent to mandu (had rice noodles inside, and a lot more fried and crispy than usual gyoza), but I enjoyed it alright for the price. My chicken was average at best and lacked flavor even with the sauce it was drenched in. The short ribs were the highlight of what I ordered, and had good grill taste and plenty more than I thought I would be receiving. The hot plate however was incredibly gimmicky, even more so than I expected. The meat was flavorless even when dipped in ponzu and even with the provided butter it stuck horribly to the rock. The mushrooms weren't that impressive either, and you get maybe 7 tiny slices of beef. Do not get this dish if you come here. Bf enjoyed his pumpkin and calamari but said the tempura skin lacked flavor. However, he greatly enjoyed his sushi roll for the price and noted he would get it again. Overall, for the food I personally received, it was average at best and for sure overpriced. You can get similar better food nearby at a better price at Umiya off of Preston. I personally do not really wish to return for the price tag. Note that parking here was a bit crowded on a Friday night. We parked a 3-5 min walk away.

Their menu features a variety of nigiri, sashimi, specialty rolls, Japanese appetizers, and lunch specials that make it easy to mix and match. Some favorites include their chef-inspired rolls, fresh sashimi options, sushi combinations, and flavorful appetizers that are great for sharing. It's a nice spot whether you're a sushi regular or someone who likes trying new dishes. Our only small note was that we waited a little longer than expected to be greeted and for water after being seated. Once we were helped, the experience was much smoother and the staff was friendly. Overall, Hanakin Sushi is a solid Plano find with quality ingredients, a cozy setting, and a menu full of options. We enjoyed our visit and are looking forward to coming back to explore more of their dishes. Everything did need a little more seasoning and flavor.

The vibes inside are very moody mid-century modern "Mad Men" vibes and our waiter as well the hostess were very welcoming and patient and happy we were there. Food time. The Furikake rice with the Gyutoro was really good. It was this perfect balance of first appearing to not seem special to omg this is incredible. It was just a subtle surprise that was really unexpected. The spicy crunchy tuna roll was the only sushi roll we ordered. It was very tuna forward and whatever they used to create that crunch on the exterior on the roll made it one of a kind. The Brussels smothered in their fish caramel sauce was rather delightful. The sauce wasn't fishy at all and the sauce wasn't too much. Really happy with this dish. The shrimp Karaage however was heavily sauced and did overpower the dish for us. It was really unfortunate because the fried shrimp on its own you could tell would have been great. If I ever order this again, I'll ask for the sauce on the side. The real star of the show for us was the Iberico cooked inside their hearth. The pork was cooked exceptionally and you could taste the smoke in it. But that broth it was it was sitting in, they could build a whole ramen dish around this in my opinion. Excellent dish. Can't wait to come back and explore some more.

Starting with the positives, our server did a fantastic job (9/10). The staff is attentive, professional, and well-trained. The ambiance and vibe of the restaurant are also quite nice, earning a solid 7/10. However, for a restaurant where the food is supposed to be the main rage, it completely missed the mark on value. The dishes are undeniably overpriced for what you get. While the presentation is high-end, the actual taste and quality of the sushi and nigiri were just "ok"--honestly, no better than what I've had at several other standard Japanese restaurants in the area. When you are paying top-dollar prices, the food needs to deliver an exceptional flavor experience, not just look pretty on a plate. I didn't feel the value matched what was paid tonight. Would I go back? It is an absolute "no" for me. Sorry Uchiko I know my review won't matter given the restaurant was pretty busy while we were there.
