Looking for a fun night out, celebrating something special, or just craving fresh food with a little entertainment? Shogun has a little bit of everything: hibachi, hot pot, Korean BBQ, and a full bar. They have separate areas designed for each experience, so you can pick your adventure. Absolutely gorgeous decor and state-of-the-art kitchen! We made reservations for hibachi, which I definitely recommend. Our table was ready when we arrived, so there was no awkward phase. One thing we quickly noticed: every hibachi chef has their own vibe. Some bring music and lots of personality, some are funny and interactive, and others are more focused and low-key. Let's just say... next time, we know who we will request. LOL. Ordering was easy, the presentation was fun, and fresh food cooked right in front of you is very awesome. Add a little sake to the experience and suddenly everyone at our table was more entertaining. Expect around $50+ per person depending on what you order. Shogun also automatically adds a 20% gratuity for parties of more than five. My one disappointment was the celebration experience. We had two people celebrating special occasions at our table, and unfortunately, there was zero effort made toward either celebration. For a restaurant that naturally feels like such a fun celebration spot, that was surprising and definitely an area where they could add a little more sparkle. FIRST time here and will be the LAST. We wanted to like and enjoy it but it started off strange from the start. We walked in and the place was pretty much dead. It was around 5:15 pm on a Sunday. Hardly anybody was in there but we were told there was a 45 minute wait for the hibachi table so we were confused. We sat at the bar for 10-15 minutes and eventually asked why such a long wait when there's hardly anybody in here and they told us that there was a lot of reservations....so whatever... we waited. We went to order edamame at the bar, but then the Bartender guy talked us out of it, saying he can't transfer the food ticket and he recommend that we order it when we sat down to eat. OK that was weird. Whatever.... after another 15 minutes when we finally got seated, it was as though you had to squeeze in between people, chairs, walls & columns just to get to the area that was around the hibachi table. I've NEVER seen such a dirty cooktop usually they're nice and bright silver and really clean, This one was dirty and grimy. There was no overhead vent. There was a vent alongside the cooktop, which was extremely dirty and disgusting and I was pretty grossed out. The area that we were in, the hibachi room was horrible! It was HOT and I'm always cold, but I was sweating and I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. They had huge round box fans on the floor trying to cool the area down, it was weird and disturbing. I don't know what was going on, but they piled in more and more and more and more people and it just was dangerous. We saw waiters carrying hot soup and salads lifted up over people's head, trying to squeeze around corners and in between the backs of peoples chairs and columns. The kids behind us were crying and whining about how hot they were. There was a couple in the corner who's hair was blowing like Beyoncé's hair at a concert, because of the box fan was pointed like right at them. The food ~ ughhhh ~ The rice was undercooked or something, it was crunchy and bland!?!?! There were hardly any vegetables at all. I ordered the filet mignon dinner, looked directly at the cook eye to eye and again told him I like my Filet MEDIUM RARE, unfortunately the Cook was side tracked, talking or whatever and he served me WELL DONE Filet!?!?! I actually said outloud AGAIN, Medium Rare please. I mean WtF ~ it was CHEWY and LOW GRADE. NOT IMPRESSED with this place, the Food, the Cook, the Drinks and especially the Temperature! This is by far the best shogun I have ever been to! I know it just opened but the quality and prices is so good. The restaurant is very clean and it is not busy for lunch. On mon-thurs they have lunch specials too! The hibachi chef John was so friendly and my entire family loved him. Filet mignon: The filet mignon teppanyaki is so good! The steak is juicy and not too salty. I really appreciated how the chef made all the food not too salty as most hibachi restaurants do. We had lunch here today. We enjoyed it. It's quite casual. The atmosphere is a bit loud. The food was pretty good and the service was good. We had hibachi (they also have sushi and hot pot). I had teppanyaki chicken with fried rice and vegetables and hubby had Teppanyaki steak. Both were flavorful and portions were good. Both came with salad and onion soup. Also two shrimp. The soup was great! The salad was ok. The dressing is like watered down ginger flavored mayonnaise. Not my favorite, but edible. The shrimp were really good. Probably get that as my entree if we go back. My portion of chicken and fried rice was huge! The chef was fun and friendly. It's worth the price compared to other places. The food is Good, service needs a lot of work! Sat us down and nobody came by for almost 30 mins to get drink order. Appeared they only had 2 servers on a Saturday night. A big party cleared out when we sat down and the restaurant was half empty afterwards. The Hibachi chef did a good job, but kept complaining about the downdraft ventilation, that definitely is in an awkward spot. Food cooked to order well and portions were a good size. When finished took 15 mins to get the bill and he brought it out for the whole table, when it was obvious we were 3 separate parties! They also put 20% tip automatically on the bill and left no spot for additional tip ( not that we were going to give any). I will not rush back, though may go to try their " hot pots". read more

The food was really good!! Shaggy dog roll was really tasty. Combo fried rice with steak and chicken, no peas or carrots was outstanding! The steak was cooked MR as requested and the chicken was really moist. I would recommend that they give you a knife or cut the chicken/steak into bite size pieces. Very minor!! The salad dressing was unique and tasty. Onion soup was just ok but I'm not a soup person. Very nice bar with all the TVs from the previous sports bars. Great selection of beer and wine. I will say that the manager went above and beyond for the service. Bartender didn't really know the menu but the manager more than made up for it by explaining things. We wanted to try new/different place today and that's how we ended up here this evening. It was little after 5pm and it wasn't too busy and we got seated right away. I guess the plan was to wait for more customers to fill the table for the teppanyaki chef, but it ended up just the 2 of us. We ordered spicy crawfish rolls and rainbow rolls to start. They were very big and tasty. When our chef showed up, we told him to please no theatrics or tricks. We just wanted him to cook the food and he was happy about our request, bc it'd make it very easy for him. We ordered shrimp/scallops combo and shrimp/lobster and scallops combo. He cooked them perfectly and timely manner and they were so delicious. Our server was very attentive. The manager came by our table and asked how everything was. We felt so welcome. Inside the restaurant is very spacious, but in my opinion, they could use more ventilation as I saw lots of smoke from cooking, but no where for the smoke to really go. Came to try the teppanyaki and it was amazing. I got the steak and shrimp. The food is so good and fresh. They did just open so you need to keep in mind that with new restaurants, be nice while they are working on their flow and training and be patient. It had just opened within the week so you could tell the staff was getting settled in. Flavors were good, the staff were all friendly, and the pricing was as expected for Hibachi with a party of 3. Only thing i would suggest with the Hibachi would be to include a fried ice cream or a sorbet. It would really complete the experience. Would recommend and will be going back. Hold them up to the Kobes in Adisson standards which closed down a little while back and although not quite there - closer than others we have tried. read more

I took both of my adult kids there after a movie next door at the Cinemark. We were all blown away by the experience. I got the steak and scallops Hibachi, highly recommended. The chef was super entertaining and cooked up some of the best food we had eaten in a long time. My son was visibly excited the entire meal as the chef was genuinely entertaining. Celebrated my girlfriend and her father's birthday here, and we had an absolute blast. The service was excellent and the restaurant looked great inside. Dexter was phenomenal and made it one of the best hibachi experiences I've ever had. He even played music while cooking, which added such a fun vibe to the night. I grew up in Cypress, TX, where the original location is and it's awesome to see the expansion! I've always loved that spot and this new location definitely lives up to the same great experience. My boyfriend and I came in not even a week ago with my friend and we've been there probably three times since then we're obsessed. Super affordable and great portion sizes on the sushi, they're willing to give you smaller pieces and doesn't change the quantity you get and it's sooo delicious. These guys work very hard and stayed open during the snow storm, which we love especially just living down the road. just got home from this Shogun Japanese Hibachi Sushi Hotpot Bar , we are very disappointed , to start off, our waiter Erika was great but the Chef who prepared the Hibachi ...We give him a -1 star, he does not deserve any stars at all. Our sitting location at the grill was the last 2/ and that did not help at all, reason we say this is, when the rice/and the vegetables where cooked, my spouse and I got the last portion and it was HALF of what the other 7 people got , and 3 of them where kids no more the 9-10 years old only. He served all 3 kids like they were adults, WHY ???? So what we got was what ever he had left. The Chef told me that he noticed that he messed up and was going to make more for us , but he NEVER did. Then when our meats where cooked, chicken / shrimp /scallops .. Same thing , he undercut us since we were the last in line, I paid almost 20.00 for scallops , the Chef cook, gave the first person about 10 scallops and all I got was 3 1/2 scallops only.., he new he messed up but never corrected this. For the shrimp ? He undercut us also with the shrimp, he noticed he did , and had to go get more from the kitchen and cooked more for us, I noticed that the reason he messed up was because he gave extra shrimp to other people on the table that NEVER ordered shrimp. WHATS UP WITH THAT ???We left there VERY disappointed, this is our FIRST time to Shogun and we assure you it will be the last time we go... If you want a Japanese Hibachi Sushi Grill that gives you enough food and does it right, we recommend HANA Hibachi & Sushi in Proper Tx. The grill isn't working and getting the help has been next to impossible. The manager was useless. Said we won't charge you but we really want to eat and he didn't fix that problem! We were so excited to go here because we love hibachi. Food was horrible. Chicken was like rubber, filet was tough and low quality. Ginger sauce was ice cold so your meat is cold after dipping it.
