Once my youngest began attending at the age of 1....never attending a daycare previously...cried every day for 1 month when I dropped her off (as Katie mentioned was completely normal), I still knew that she was in amazing hands. Exactly 1 month later, as Katie had mentioned, she stopped crying, jumping out of my hands to run to her favorite caregiver at the time. I really enjoyed the parental communication system through HiMama. The reports were always very detailed regarding my children's day-to-day activities. If medicine was required to be given to my children, they would indicate the time it was given. It was a big help for me to see photos and detailed reports on my children. It made me feel like I was right there with them. I knew I could always trust the staff to take care of my children. However, the biggest impact for me concerned my oldest child. I cannot thank Regina, Rachel and Erin enough for what they provided for my daughter. My oldest has special needs. I did not know this right away. 2 years into the future, before she began kindergarten, my daughter received an Autism diagnosis. Yet, prior to that diagnosis, I quickly noticed that several staff here were very well-trained and knowledgeable of interacting with and caring for children with special needs. Most daycares honestly have NO IDEA what to do with special needs children. Yet SMART Beginnings knows EXACTLY what to do. When my daughters' behavior reached maximum intensity, Regina contacted me right away to explain in detail what was going on. I asked her what she recommended. She mentioned behavior counseling and referred me to someone she personally knew locally. With Regina's extensive background in Education, as well as her extensive experience in working with special needs children as a former educator, she created my daughter's first ever B.I.P. (Behavior Intervention Plan). It was a major rollercoaster and learning experience leading up to my daughter's first diagnosis, as well as after the diagnosis. Flash forward to the present, she currently has diagnosis spanning from Autism, ADHD, ODD and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Yet I always knew that this daycare would be the ONLY daycare that I would truly feel comfortable leaving my special needs child in..... all because of the extensive knowledge, skill and background of the Director, Mrs. Regina, and the other staff. Also, just to add, when COVID began and most daycares shut down temporarily due to the outbreak, SMART Beginnings was LITERALLLY the only daycare in Ocean Springs that managed to stay open during the entire epidemic, implementing detailed instructions on how to manage the pandemic within the center in order to keep the staff and the children as safe as possible. I believe this speaks volumes about this center! So, in closing, this is why SMART Beginnings will always have a special place in my heart. They showed me how much they truly loved and cared about my children. They helped form a solid foundation of attempting to understand my daughter's needs, her struggles and her triggers, to develop a plan to best support her. The only reason why my kids' attendance ceased is because I had to move to Gautier. If we never moved, my girls would still be there in afterschool care.

We very much enjoyed his work. We had never been exposed to him before and this was really a treat. Anytime you get to be on a campus designed by Frank Gehry, that is a treat! Not to mention their saying of having experts on campus and as professors is true! One of my professors has even had her work displayed on a Netflix series. Everything is always really clean, I hope to see a janitor soon to say thank you. All the buildings are within walking distance, even the private student housing is literally behind the school. Do you want to go to the gym? No worries there's a fitness center on campus. If you're concerned with disability accessibility, every door has a button to open automatically and every building has ramps! I love the environment and experience. The the beach front view is amazing, reading while sitting on the white sand is like nothing else. The history of the Gulf Port Campus is rich and will make you proud to be an Eagle!

Kolbie is not only knowledgeable but also very encouraging--she never made me feel rushed or overwhelmed. Her tips and guidance were so helpful, and I could really see my skills improving with each session. I highly recommend this driving school, especially if you get the chance to learn with Kolbie. The course will get you your license bottom line. But not because of quality, professionalism, or…read moretruth in advertising. You are often left to your fellow trainees and senior classmen to help out once on the range backing training, pretrip inspection and brake checking. First off the range trucks are due for the scrap yard, they often break down and are manual transmissions so if you are trying to get your automatic license (the most common in the industry for hiring purposes) this creates yet another barrier to learning to back the vehicle properly while trying to find the right gear or ensuring it out of gear because the transmission is so shot. Next is the advertising of three weeks to get your CDL Class A. The website used to say it was three weeks until you had it in hand (check wayback machine for proof on their site) but now it just says 3 weeks of CDL training. That is, because at least in part to something outside of their control, the DOT requiring a 48 return once they get the training documents. And while that is outside of their control it should be part of the introduction on the first day of class and be part of an FAQ on the website. Not everyone has the luxury of time off if you are taking vacation time or leave to go through the course. Next is the 72 hour wait for the DMV once they get the paperwork that you passed the practical eval (pretrip inspection, Brake/pressure check, range backing and road test). This too was not gone over on the first day nor advertised on their website. Together that is a full extra week you have to wait to get your CDL. Lastly is the quality of after care once you are graduated. We had a large class and while I understand that paperwork takes time, they have been at this for literal decades. So there is little excuse to be so hands off once you pay them for the school. I called up to ask about the DMV situation and I had to call back again once it was clear they were not going to return my call to let me know it would not be until the following week to be able to go to the DMV to get my license. Last and not least is the staff. Out of the 5 people instructing (in class, range and road) there really were only 2 that were any good for the purposes of purely training. The rest were either sleeping, talking about their military time, or disinterested in anything besides having the paperwork, and their payment, done (and any deviation from that was met with stern words and looks). Overall, this is my second time going through this course. Had to drop my CDL because of a tragic family death, so that is on me for not being mentally ok yet. But the quality from the previous time has seriously dropped my evaluation from a solid 5 previously to a solid 3 stars for the reason outlined above. Would I recommend this course to anyone interested in getting their CDL? Yeah, I would. Not because it is the best priced (it isn't) or has the best quality equipment (it doesn't), but because they virtually guarantee you to pass by letting you come back time and gain until you get it right. Not because they are nice people, but because they can show they have a high graduation rate. Very different motive and a good business move I suppose.
