I live in Illinois, (which is where fun goes to die and they despise the 2nd Amendment) and I'm visiting the Villages for the month of May to see what Florida has to offer. 1st place I looked for was a nice indoor facility to get my weekly appointment for Range Therapy...and Shooter's World delivered. . Great staff, properly maintained, and the range options are without compare to any facility that exists in Illi-noiz. The sad part is that I'm leaving next Saturday and I'll only have this week to de here...unless we decide to move here in the Fall. If we come back for another visit I'll bring my Sig Cross 6.5 Creedmoor to take advantage of the 100-yard INDOOR range. To my knowledge, what a great spot this is they have a huge gun collection for sale. The range is definitely five star. Super impressed with the hundred yard rifle range. I took a lesson there. Not very impressed with the range. Small shooting areas. very closed quarters. Range safety officers routinely leave the shooting area so as not to be exposed to too much lead (according to one who told me). Somewhat concerning. When i have looked at merchandise, i have never been approached by someone asking if they could help. Management there seems quite detached. On a positive note- the folks who check you in are very nice. Overall, i rate it 3 stars. read more

Have been to this location several times. After today's experience I can say not only will I not go back but, I will discourage other people from patronizing this place. Before I even had a chance to pull my guns out at the shooting stall, I was berated by RSO "Steve" for pressing the wrong button on the stall's control panel. I was wanting to turn off the overhead light, and missed the inconspicuous dimmer knob with no icon indicating its function, and instead hit the button with a light bulb on it. I came here to spend my money and have a good time. Berating and speaking to your customers condescendingly is not good customer service. Will be looking for another range to patronize, even if I have to drive past this place. read more

Lots of available parking. Facility is well appointed and clean. There are more than a variety and supply of products on display. Personnel are knowledgeable and eager to help. Range facilities are a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. Overall the facility is organized and pretty nice but you pay for the experience. But then it IS in The Villages, so that's to be expected. read more

The experience is very safe and secure and overall amazing. If you like shooting, or you've never gone shooting, but you have a firearm and would like to have the opportunity and experience on actually know how to use it, this is the perfect place. I'm learning personal defense, and basic home defense, and this is a great place to start getting guided, mentored and practice with real guns. You can bring your own, or rent one to use at the range. There's a pre approval screening process for safety, and the staff helps guide with any questions about the experience or even purchasing a firearm. The price seems to be very fair... oh and ladies get in free to the shooting range on Mondays! Highly recommended for safety, learning and proper right done experience! Great time! read more

Great intro class First Shots, "like the kindergarten class to shooting ". Class instructor Hugh is awesome teacher. After learning the basics and ground rules of gun ownership and how to handle your firearm we got to shoot 5 rounds with a rifle. Signed up for the next step class, Intro to Handguns before leaving the facility. Speaking of the facility, it is like a superstore of firearms and accessories. So clean and open and many people available to help answer questions. My husband was raving about the professionalism and the culture we experienced today. Can't wait to go back! read more

I became a member of the range after moving to The Villages in 2019. I'm retired from 33 years in local and federal law enforcement and love the range - EXCEPT today was the first time I was concerned about safety. Range safety officers have been removed from the immediate firing area & placed behind the glass in the store area. Their response will be much slower if they observe unsafe behavior. I was a firearms instructor with the feds and this is an unsafe change. I'll keep using the range, but this is a change that shouldn't have happened. read more

lady that answered the phone would not ask one of the many workers on the floor to check if they had a Walther holster on the rack for my PDP Pro. She told me I had to come there and check myself, even after I told her it was a 40 minute drive. She said they had too many holsters for them to find out. Unbelievable. read more

A top notch range with friendly and knowledgeable people. The range safety officers are outstanding making this a very safe place to shoot. I recently became a member and I think the membership deals are very reasonable. Expert or beginner, everyone is treated well. I have not yet used the rifle range yet, but recently came into possession of an American Enfield that I'm going to have their gunsmith take a look at. I'm expecting the gunsmithing service to be just as top notch as the rest. read more

Hugh was an incredible instructor! Extremely knowledgeable and kind, as with the rest of the staff. Facility is immaculately clean. Every staff member greeted me and offered to help. I came to this location to attend the "first shots" instruction class. Information was great but unfortunately due to Covid, they are no longer able to offer rental equipment for free. Weapon, ammo, eye and ear gear used to be included in the instruction course but is now offered for approximately $60. I would have wanted to know about this change beforehand but I understand Covid has changed businesses. Bathrooms are insanely clean. And they also have a bar inside! Shooters World offers a variety of products at different price points although it did seem pricey. Definitely worth checking out! read more

First impression, these are first Class facilities. The Staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. The Ranges are better than any I have visited over the years. Twice I have used the Gunsmith they worked on a few different Fire Arms of mine. They did an outstanding job I will continue using them in the future. Take Your time visiting this Shooters World. You will like how clean it is and you will feel safe. They have a snack bar from Coffee to sandwiches I sometimes take lunch and get a snack. My husband is a finatic but weve never gone to a range together..well while on vacation in Ocala kid free we decided to make the 40 min trip to Shooters World. Despite the horrible reviews we had a great experience! Big dude with the beard is clearly not a people person & somehow ended up working a job where he needs to work with the public... its unfortunate but he knows guns and demands a safe environment for ppl going into the range & thats what matters. It was clear to me that this fellow was the one that has been reported to have a nasty attitude.. at first he did but once my husband just gave it back to him he switched & started to like us lmao. & Just a fact id like to point out there were multiple woman working in this gun store & thats something I love because girls love guns too!! I would suggest this spot to anyone whether youre a first timer & or just for sight seeing or a seasoned vet this is a quality safe range. Beautiful area & they've got anything you could possibly need right in house. Even a gun Smith & a coffee shop. read more

I have seen some low scores so I went with curiosity. Everyone was friendly, helpful and respectful. I cannot think of any reason why others gave low scores. I ordered a weapon online through their website which states processing takes 3-5 days but most weapons are received within 7 days. This statement is a bold face inaccurate statement. It has been 10 days and I have not received my weapon as of yet, I have called the store multiple times and they just refer me to corporate. I have emailed corporate multiple times and have yet to receive a response. I personally feel that they have taken my money and provided no product. I will never order from their website again, highly recommend if it's not in store don't buy anything from them. I have ordered out of state before and only waited 5 days. read more

Fabulous place. After many years of not shooting any firearms, I finally got out to a range, and I'm glad I found Shooter's World in the Villages. I stopped into another range first, but was not impressed with it, as they offered no help, telling me I had to take an $85 class becore I could shoot on their range. I proceeded over to Shooter's world and was blown away, (pun intended). My initial impression was that the place is immaculate! (Check!) The folks were very informed and helpful. (Check!) The range master I worked with was extremely helpful, and made my return to shooting with my recently acquired Glock 26 VERY enjoyable, offering no-nonsense tips that made it obvious that he really knows his stuff! (From one old Eagle Scout to another, he was awesome!) (Check!) These folks made me feel totally welcomed, and as a result I need look no further for my home range, as not only is it spotless and well-kept, but it was obvious that the ventilation system is also well cared for, so I have absolutely no worries about injesting any lead, leading to lead poisoning, as has happened elsewhere. (Major Check!) Even if you do not yet own a firearm, they have a great selection to choose from on a per visit, rental basis. (Check!) I'll be returning to introduce my wife to the world of firearms, so we can both not only enjoy shooting together, but can get our CC Licenses to secure our own personal safety, moving forward. Yessir, Shooter's World in The Villages checked all the boxes, even for folks like me that are not Villages residents. We're going to be checking out options for a new weapon for my bride on our next visit, as their selection of available weapons is also excellent. I need to clarify this rating. The store and range are a 5. The staff is great. This review is specially directed at a class recently presented at SW. It was a general overview class presented by a "Lead Instructor" who is reportedly a city cop in a city well south of The Villages. While the instructor did have a few good points, he was WAY off on some critical issues. Even directly contradicting state law. He appeared to be using slides from Shooters World University. So while I highly recommend the store and range, stay away from the training classes as they may be using the same slides. I was also disappointed that several weeks after raising the issues to SW I have yet to receive a response. read more

Beware that the Fletcher store is super strict about their dress code. I have been to other ranges, where there is no dress code, so, was very surprised. Unfortunately, the receptionist didn't say anything about it, and we went ahead and spent an hour looking at various pistols, only to head over to the range to shoot a few, and be told by a "jerk" in the range, that we weren't "dressed for the occasion". This guy was pretty impressed with himself, and was very rude. We were actually having a good conversation with another employee in the range, and this guy decided to interrupt our conversation, to make his little speech. We won't be giving this store any of our business, plenty of other places to shop at. read more

Never been to store where the associates are as unhelpful as this place, 10 guys standing around discussing fantasy football instead of meeting and greeting anyone. I had 2 extremely simple questions both of which the answer was " I don't know". It sucks to have a large gun shop this close that has such terrible customer service. Great setup with products and shooting range. Very nice professional staff processing you in and taking care of all your needs effectively.

They are blatantly overpriced by huge margins compared to anything you can find elsewhere. I'm talking hundreds of dollars on guns, as much as 500 over msrp on one. I saved 300 buying online compared to them for one particular pistol. Also their transfer fees are outrageous. Every other FFL in the villages is 20-30, this place is 50. It's a great place to go look at guns because they do have a massive selection, but then please go buy online and don't support this highway robbery. The shooting range is very nice however and I do have to give credit for that. Also the gunsmith is friendly and helpful. read more

Horrible customer service. Extremely expensive ammo prices. (Just go online and use ammoseek.com) 50¢/1$ per round for basic 223/556 is insane. RSOs do not know what they are doing. Their firearm prices are not competitive. Do NOT use their online site, it is just a drop shipping website. Just another corporate store trying to scam elderly people of their social security checks. After Shooter's World suggested that I contact them, I called and spoke to a manager (can't remember her name). I very politely explained my grievances and quite frankly, she didn't want to be bothered. She said that complaints were handled on their website. While not horrible, the entire experience only reinforced my decision to take my business elsewhere. read more

I joined this week at the Gold level. Took two friends to shoot at your facility in The Villages today for the first time since I joined. We never did get to shoot. Your staff was very unorganized, unfriendly, first told me my ammo was ok after two of your employees inspected it, then changed their mind. The three of us left without shooting. I asked for a refund of my membership, and was refused. I spent $ 500, and can't use the membership. Not a good way to treat your customers. read more

The worst buying experience ever, #1 in setting expectations, they told me the date it would be ready! and inexperienced sales people whom do not communicate to each other, and rude as hell, I don't need an attitude when I am spending 600 on the gun, 200 bucks for ammo, a handgun gift, for my wife. She bought the gun, and wanted it Cerakoted for my wife's liking, we were told a 5 day waiting period and they could coat it and have it ready, while waiting for the background check. I call today to the gunsmith they said it was done, pick it up, they did nothing but put my wife's gift on hold, didn't coat it, we wasted a trip, the personnel set my expectations . I would have waited 2 weeks if they said that, the people in the gunsmith shop need to think about what they say, this is a nice shop but crappy help, with bad attitudes, no one owes you nothin, the range prices are horrible, my range from Maryland , Machine Gun Nest , charges 20 dollars for range as many as 3 on one lane. This-place was a horrible experience, I won't spend a cent there ever again! I shoot distance competition and shoot a lot, my advice , buy online avoid smart asses! I've purchased many guns, and never had to deal with inept employees, find a serious shop that cares about your business. Being told we can kote it while it's vetted, easily have it ready then argued with ,,, you told me when it would be ready! We found the same gun priced at 499.95 picking it up Tuesday Cerakoted! I called ahead to prepare to send my firearm from this: "Shooters World" here in The Villages, Fl. Upon arrival to the store I walk in with five boxes of ammunition and the rifle which I wish to ship. I'm a vet...100% disabled and I've got a spinal issue which causes dreadful pain. I suddenly need a chair because my pain level goes from about 6 to about 9.5 and I MUST sit down. There are zero customers and about 7 employees standing mostly together. The manager "Leland" approaches me to tell me not to sit on the slightly eleveted countertop. I ask for a stool and he says he doesn't have one. (He's very aggressive and rude). He said there's a single chair somewhere and I ask him will he bring it. He takes offense and tells me to get it myself. (I can't lift this chair...I'm in very high pain and basically a whipped pup. I sit down on the floor (remember there's not a single customer so I'm not trying to disrupt his business). He tells me: "Get out of my store". I tell him to call the police. He tells a subordinate to call the sheriff and I decide to leave. I'm getting ready to find out if there's a civil rights issue here seriously..;...I told him "You are a very unkind human being". Fantastic customer service during COVID 19 Challenges Patty and Scott provided amazing customer service at The Villages Shooters World today. I needed some supplies after hearing that some places were selling out. I called and Patty asked what I wanted and put the charges on my credit card. She told me what time to be in the parking lot and then brought the supplies out to my car. She even put them on the hood of my car so we could stay 6 feet apart! Wonderful customer service. read more
