This is where I go to get my makeup, family prescriptions basic medical supplies. Most of the pharmacists are really helpful and are more than happy to leave the confines of the pharmacy to recommend a remedy to your ails or help you find an elusive item. I am a big fan of the Shoppers Optimum card because the points can really add up to cash very quickly, especially when I keep my eye on makeup deals and purchase when they are promoted. read more

The pharmacists are SO rude! While waiting for my prescription I overheard some rude comments being said about me. I was so embarrassed and when I built up the courage to call to speak to the manager I found out that the pharmacist I saw was actually the owner. That was enough to make me boycott this place forever. I love Shoppers, but I go to No Frills now because they're nice to me. read more

The owner needs to give his head a shake. He questions your prescriptions and makes you feel like a drug addict. He either has little man syndrome or thinks he's a doctor. All shoppers drug marts are a franchise purchased by the head pharmacist so I boycott this store all together. I have heard such horror stories about him. read more

I am a little surprised in reading these reviews as I have had very good experiences in this store.I'm wondering if some of the reviewers are possibly reviewing the wrong store/location. The pharmacist actually gave me a number to call the Dr on call for sylvan lake ( I didn't even know there was such a service in Sylvan) when my 4 yr old had an ear infection..The dr was able to see us right away and I was able to get my prescription filled at 930 pm. Saved us a trip to the hospital. I'm so grateful to her for providing that. The makeup selection is fantastic ..I always seem to get a hello as I walk in and they helped me find the perfect foundation color for my skin. I love getting optimum points especially when its bonus point days. I think its a great place to shop! read more

Very disappointed with pharmacy. If my doctor is prescribing something - the pharmacist should not second guess my doctor and expect me to explain. I found them rude and judgemental. (Not all the pharmacists - mostly the 2 men) read more

I moved to Sylvan Lake about 7 months ago and transferred my prescriptions from a Safeway Pharmacy. Each visit I've had to the Sylvan Lake Pharmacy has been unpleasant. The women behind the counter are not friendly and mistakes are made. I haven't even met the Pharmacist, because he or she is never there when I come to pick up my order. Without my knowledge, they shorted me on one of my medications. When I ran out and tried to get it refilled they said they couldn't refill because I had just had it filled a month before. I told them I used all they had given me. They had apparently charged me for three months but only gave me a month supply. The Assistant discovered that the remainder was left in their drawer for the entire month. Do they not check on unclaimed meds? Insulin is to be stored in a fridge until picked up. When I picked up mine it was sitting on their trolley...warm. Safeway would mark on the container how many was "owed" and insulin was always handed to the customer from the fridge. In the hot summer, they even provided a small freezer pack to keep the insulin cold for the ride home. If I could, I would transfer to a Red Deer Pharmacy but I am a senior and can not always get there. I believe that is what Sylvan Lake Shoppers Drug Mart relies on, so their is no need for them to have great customer service. Always check to make sure you get what you were prescribed. read more

I have been a loyal shoppers drug mart customer 15+ years. I buy top shelf cosmetics, expensive perfume, and all my toiletries at Shoppers. A new resident to Sylvan Lake, I have only spoken to the Pharmacy three times. Two of those three times, the person I spoke to was rude, short and was lacking in customer service skills to say the least. Sounds like a culture at this location, and I will not spend another cent in there. read more
