Second time I went to the fish department and there was no employee in sight. Waited 10 minutes and still no one showed up. Asked another employee to page him but never heard the announcement. Needless to say I will never go there again- I had to go to Whole Foods and pay more. Then I went for the MM fruit punch on add 4/$4- none on the shelf. Went to get a raincheck- clerk said he can't give one. Called the department who said it was on the header. I am disabled and it would be difficult to go back there and get it. Asked her to being it up to the front - what a sour looking face she had on that she had to do something for a customer. I used the self checkout and it kept breaking down. ShopRite is clean and organized. The shelves are fully stocked and there is plenty of helpful staff available. The seafood counter had a nice selection and variety of fish and shellfish. However, some of the food looked as if it had been there quite a while. There is ample parking. All of the staff looked hard at work and made it efficient to get in and out of the store in a timely manner. read more

This shop rite is actually really budget friendly and the best part of it all. Throughout the whole store. You are able to buy locally sourced food from CT at a reasonable price.EX.honey Plus side, whoever is buying the inventory is an amazing person because they have a lot of healthy alternatives and conscious food brands. The David bread, nut pod creamer, jovial brand pasta, wholesome brand agave. The line for redemption center for plastic bottle is mostly short and quick. I've been shopping at ShopRite in Orange since it opened in place of the former Stop N Shop. I've been in this area my whole life and this is usually my go to chain grocery store since it's so close. I've unfortunately noticed the decline in this store starting in 2024. Last year, I was doing shopping for a family member while on the phone when a man ( who seemed drunk or intoxicated) began harassing me and telling me to "get the f out the way" among other vulgarities. After this, I went up to the manager on duty : Esmeralda who told me this was normal and "he's just like that". Basically justifying the actions of a person who was harassing a customer. Dismissing it completely and doing nothing about it. After this, he was following me until I left the store. Everyone was a bystander and did nothing ( but that's the world we live in ) I'm very disappointed in management & the Garfalo Family for not protecting their customers when they come to shop at their establishment. My second issue, is the bottle room. I use this bottle room to refrain from going father away from home. I buy a lot of water, so it adds up when I go and redeem them. This bottle room is pretty much always dirty and smells like beer or urine. I understand many people go here a day, but why does it always smell this way? Lastly, the most recent incident, the promotion on ShopRite's rotisserie chicken. I went yesterday to purchase a chicken which is originally 7.99 but 5.99 with your plus card. Upon inspection and carving, me and my family noticed this chicken was undercooked and bloody. Not everytime do we get a chicken is it bloody or undercooked, but we have had a few times where this took place. It's disgusting & a waste of money. If someone didn't have the utilities to reheat this chicken, what would they do? Eat this bloody chicken? Yes, you can go back and return it but why the hassle? You come to a place like this so you get what you need with no issues after you pay. The ShopRite in Orange is declining and I hope that management and Garfalo Family changes their approaches and change service overall. To whom it may concern, shop at this particular supermarket often. They are very unprofessional they don't care about the needs of others. This is online shopping. I have so many seniors who are home bound and need groceries. They leave the groceries out in inclement weather ect. They expect seniors in their seasoned age with walking devices to go out and get their groceries in all types of weather. You call the shop at home employee's you get unprofessional people who don't know the contract policy. Telling seniors they have to call the delivery company. Isn't that ShopRite's job you have the contract not the shopper. Help I am tired of dealing with rude non professional people from the orange, CT store and Milford, CT store. While checking out at the self serve checkout. I had an issue with a coupon on a package that was on there product. An employee came over to wait on me he was rude I understand that there are alot of issues with the virus but really then the manager Nick was even rude. So excited to get a shoprite that is closer since they carry things that the other competitor grocery store doesn't... but this place has went down hill in their customer since they've added staff from the recently closed West haven location. The staff has become unfriendly and rude... a smile, a hello, anything would be nice from a cashier. Used to like the cashiers, Now I wish they had made this 100% self checkout. Since Covid 19 began I havent shopped at Shoprite since they cut their sales and raised prices when Covid 19 began. I joined BJs and their prices for 95% compared to Shoprite I found was better. .99per lb for Chicken, Bagels 6 for $2.99 vs Shoprite Chicken 1.59 per lb avg and 6 bagels 4.99 amongst many other items. Milk 100% whole is $2.69 vs Shoprite which is 3.59 per gallon. I make Kefir with milk. I bought milk at shopwrong because I couldnt make the trip to BJs. Milk separated to be just water while making kefir. Disgusting! They must water down the milk for the Shoprite brand milk. That never happened with the BJs milk and its one dollar cheaper for the same gallon of whole milk. SHOPWRONG read more

Went to the Orange Shoprite to return some spoiled frozen shrimp I bought yesterday. The customer service clerk was straight from DMV type casting, unpleasant, curt, didn't seem to want to be there Got my refund and went to buy some whole wheat or rye bagels there were none. There were also none yesterday when I bought the shrimp. Bakery worker was equally uninterested when I inquired about them ever having them Her reply: "we get the and they go." This was at 11:30 am. This has been my third time that I have purchased contaminated food. 1. About a year ago I purchased their fried chicken. The chicken was old and they refried the chicken and sold it to the public. I got sick that night. 2. Six months ago I purchased a six-pack of rolls. I open the package that night and ate one. The next night I wanted to make a sandwich and the 5 that were left were molded. 3. Yesterday I purchased a six-pack of frosted donuts. I ate one and the taste was that of burnt food so was the smell. I opened the package removed the frosting and the donuts were burnt to the point of being black and they covered them with frosting. Quite possibly the inept collection of people I've ever seen working under one roof. Power tripping or completely clueless mid manager at the registers asking people to space out to 6 feet when we're already 10 feet apart. Quality of meats suck. Anarchy in the parking lot. I normally love the store. I shop here 2 to 3 times a week. Normally, all of the staff is friendly and accommodating. Joaquin, however, needs an attitude adjustment. I was overcharged $3 on a prior purchase and went to customer service to see if they could do anything. The clerk at customer service was as sweet as could be, but the "manager" Joaquin had a stick up his ass. There were three signs stating the price that I should have been charged, but he acted as though I did something wrong. I was the one to suggest removing the incorrect signs, so other customers would not be misled. I received zero apologies. I have worked in the food industry and customer service my entire life. He handled the situation very poorly. Very disappointing, I will be going to stop and shop in the future. read more

This store is horrible. The parking lot has a bizarre layout, and that is the nicest thing I can say about the place. The water machine return was broken and it is not close to customer service, so they cannot see to help with it like at other stores. I had to leave there and wait in a long line just to get the tickets for them. Then customer service was rude when I got there. The store has a large aisle for shampoo for some reason, but in general the layout makes no sense. I could not find any of the food I was looking for. read more

Newly renovated. It's very up to date with all the grocery stuff you'd ever need and then some. I mean, they have a burrito bar lol. Fresh produce. The only thing is they need more people working the deli and seafood stations. I waited about 10 minutes at each. The checkout was decently fast. Buyer Beware.....purchased 3 Pillsbury Crescent Dough sheets on Weds July 5th...went to use them this morning ...package would not open...checked the freshness date....use by May 30 2018!!!!! Really!!! This is partially my fault for not checking freshness date at the store. There was an employee dealing with product near were I was trying to reach into refrigerated area to get what I wanted and didn't move when I said excuse me, this frustrated me I reached around him put the product in my cart....BUT...as a consumer I feel it is Shoprite's responsibility to make sure the product they are selling is of good quality. Received the worst service in the deli department ever. Bought my lunch from the deli and the agent there refused to warm it up. His exact words! "If you want hot bar food pay the hot bar price" then turned his back and walk way. When I told the store manager what happened, He said they don't warm food there, not even the food they sell. There is a manager at this store (Oranger Ct) that is so rude and disrespectful. I could not tell you her name because she did not wear her name badge. You try to explain something and she doesn't want to hear it and her response is " I know how to do my job, I'm right". Well obviously that statement is wrong because she didn't even listen to what was being said to her. From the moment she came into contact with me she had NO customer service quality. How she became a manager is beyond me. If this is how Shop Rite allows their managers to treat their customers I don't know how that are in business. Never again!! This is the third time in 3 weeks that they have sold spoiled/ out of date food. The first time my friend bought sliced apples that were on the shelves two weeks beyond the sell by date. Now for the spoiled food ... She bought hot dogs two weeks ago and when she opened the package a thick slime came out of the package and just now I bought a package and it was the exact same thing!! The hot dog dates were still ok but somehow that good was left to spoil in the store. I'm going to the store for a refund but part of me doesn't want to even step foot in that door. The produce manager Courtney is absolutely terrible. I witnessed him last night speaking down to two new employees who he was "training". He had absolutely no right to talk to them that way and in front of customers. When I confronted him about it he put on a nice show of "looking up" who the manager was before storming down an aisle. This store's cashiers, front end managers, and store managers need to be trained in customer service, tolerance, and cultural diversity. For too long I have endured discriminatory practices with this store. Their cashiers are rude, and short with patience. They have no respect for the customers. I have been discriminated against because of my disability and my ethnicity while shopping there, by both employees and management. They have no problem stifling the funds out of the lower income communities, but will treat the people from there like they don't matter. Shame on them, and shame on the corporate officials who do nothing about it. The day front end manager at Jessica and the store manager Nick at the ShopRite of Orange location are prejudice/racist and should not be in a position where the have deal with a diversity of cultures. Long overdue grocery store to replace the old dilapidated stop and shop that had been there! Updated and the staff is friendly and customer service oriented , self checkout aisles are ample which is great. Meat and fish selection MUCH more diverse than stop and shop ..
