Food , ambiance , and service were all excellent! We felt warmth from the heaters right when we walked into the enclosed porch. We can't wait to come back in the daytime so we can enjoy the views. We had the lobster, crab, and shrimp salad and the Miso Black grouper. After I asked for a little more of the Miso sauce the fish was excellent. It just needed a little more sauce because it was a little dry. The salad was so full of flavor and I would definitely get it again. We also had the flourless chocolate cake. It came wira go ice cream which didn't really go with the chocolate but would have been better with a lighter dessert. It needed maybe a berry ice cream or vanilla instead. This was a bit of a drive from where we were staying in Sarasota. BUT let me tell you, it was absolutely WORTH every second. One thing about me is I LOVEEEEE some boujee drinks and GOOD food, it's one of my favorite things to spend my money on actually lol. The ambiance is on the up-scale side. We dressed up for the occasion. The occasion being eating some good a** food lol. We made a reservation. When we arrived the table wasn't ready so we got expresso martinis at the bar while we waited. They were 10/10. We were seated outside right on the water. Beautiful views. Our waitress, Kennedy was phenomenal. She was amazing, so patient with all of our questions, and even gave my cousin a hair elastic to put up her hair! Lol. She gave us recommendations on the menu and the local area (because we're from out of town). Okkk so for the FOOD! Everything is ART here and all of the flavors are just bursting in your mouth one at a time with every dish. Appetizer - crab cake - soooooooo good. Freshest ingredients. Highly recommend. Main dishes - I got the scallops with lemon Risotto and sautéed spinach. YUM. My cousin got the filet mignon with brocollini and she loved it. We also got a side of mushroom truffle Mac and cheese and honestly if I could eat that everyday for the rest of my life I would be 100% satisfied it's easily the best mac and cheese I've ever had. We also ordered the specialty dessert which was chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and icecream. It was the most exquisite and flavorful dessert I've ever indulged in. I took away one star because whoever was in charge of valet parking that night was extremely unprofessional. When we pulled into the parking lot, he chased us out pretty aggressively, almost hitting us head on with the SUV he was driving. It was ridiculously unprofessional to say the least and definitely started the night off on a BAD NOTE. But the food and the staff inside made up for it all! 8 pm dinner reservation on a Thursday, we came early and got drinks at the bar (red sangria was gross and Ruby Red cocktail was pretty good). We were seated at a two seater booth looking over the docks. Pretty crowded and loud. I was facing the AC/fans so a bit windy. Ordered the guac/shrimp ceviche which was nothing special and crabcake which was pretty good (no filler, all crab) for apps. Partner got snapper which was ok and I got the grouper-really good. Both dishes were served hot! Our white wine was brought out after we started eating, but it was a busy night. Small circular Basque cheesecake (made in-house) w/ a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which was ok. If you do not have a reservation, there were plenty of open seats at the bar. Valet parking. We took an Uber from our hotel a few miles down the road. Pretty views of the water, docks and boat especially at sunset time. Nice vibe, probably always fairly crowded. Family friendly. Always one of our favorites. We arrive by boat and the dock hand is super supportive to start the experience off. Staff checking in is always friendly and quick. Food....AWESOME! Christmas Eve dinner last night was great. I have eaten here over the past 4 years about 8 times and it's been consistently good. You do need a reservation from all my experiences. The wait staff has never let us down from what I remember and our reservation has always been on time. The restaurant has one of the best water views in Sarasota, they have valet parking and a little store attached for someone in the mood to buy something extra after dinner. I've tried a lot of things on the menu and narrowed it down to seafood being their strong point. We ordered 3 snapper entrees, one fried chicken with Mac and cheese, calamari app, truffle fries, and tuna tartare. The snapper entree with the rice cake was fantastic, Mac and cheese was awesome and unique, great Asian twist on the calamari, truffle fries were some of the best I've ever had, and the only thing that was off a little was the espresso being slightly sour, but the meal was a success overall. A wonderful visit This Shore location is at the north end of Longboat Key. I've always liked the drive on Longboat Key from Sarasota so I was in good spirits when we arrived. I would normally gripe about a place that does not have customer parking and only offers valet parking, but I won't. The open-air setup and the relaxing water view was wonderful. We were with friends so the conversation kept flowing, that always improves a meal. We started with a basket of Truffle Fries, plenty enough for all four of us. The truffle aroma arrived before the basket, a moment of anticipation. The photo shows four dipping sauces, it comes with two, we requested a couple more that were more for salads than for dipping. There weren't many choices on the menu and I did have trouble deciding what to order. One of our friends offered up a recommendation, their Miso Marinated Black Grouper, so that's what I ordered. Everyone else at the table ordered variations of salads, which all looked great. The plating for my grouper was also impressive. Our food arrived in about 20 minutes, about the time we ran out of fries, and we got started. My thick piece of fish was firm and had a bit of a crust from frying. I slightly noticed what I assume was the miso marinated treatment. The sticky rice cake where the fish topped was definitely sticky and went well. I particularly liked the shiitake mushrooms, too bad there were so few. Service was nonintrusive while we conversed but still provided a high level of attention when we needed it, including filling a few special requests like bringing salad toppings as dipping sauces. One of the most incredible restaurants on Anna Maria Island, the food, the amazing staff, and the romantic ocean setting far exceeded our expectations. Never a disappointment when we dine here. Such friendly waitstaff from the valet to servers - so welcoming. We were seated immediately and were able to look out at the view with the sun still shining.... Started with the charcuterie board and a beet salad- both had great flavors from the pistachio crusted goat cheese on the salad- to the board with the multiple cheese and olive bread. Every time I go to Ana Maria Island, or anywhere near here, I always make a reservation at Shore Longboat Key. I've also been to the Saint Armands Square location in Sarasota, but the views here cannot be beat. Pro tip: when you make a reservation ask to be seated near the water. This restaurant is known for its beautiful views. I also really appreciate that they have an outdoor air conditioner, which helps with the Florida heat and bugs. In terms of drinks, you can't go wrong here. I typically order espresso martinis, but have also gotten a great Manhattan here. As for food, don't miss out on the rosemary bread and spreads appetizer. My party is always impressed by anything that they've ordered. I typically go for the kale Caesar salad, which is vegetarian, but I like to add grilled shrimp. I also recommend finding out which desserts they have available that evening. I've had some of the best Keylime pie here as well as chocolate cake. Their desserts seem to be seasonal, but I have yet to be disappointed. Be sure to add a little extra time to visit the Shore retail shop. Though the prices are high, the quality is exceptional. All of the designs are done by a mother, daughter duo, and you can go online and order the outfits as well. I'm a big fan of the styles they have, and have several of their pants and tops. The food was good. We got the Som Tom salad, and grouper sandwich. It's a chic waterfront restaurant with a huge bar. After a table got up and left, I saw the waitress pour water from customers glasses back into the glass bottles of drinking water they hand out to other customers. I felt a little weird that she did that cause she put it back with the other bottles of water they had out to new customers. We love this place! The food, the service, the location, the view. The food is always great, the drinks are always interesting, and the service is generally good. They only have valet parking but you can park on the street if there is parking. We call it a field trip because we live 45 minutes away, ironically probably less than 20 miles away, but traffic and surface streets make it a longer drive, especially getting out to the islands. The manager there is not accommodating and borderline rude. We have numerous issues with their meal, like multiple items being out of stock, then dinners being overcooked. One was so bad we couldn't eat it and it turned her off from the restaurant. Awful experience. Pretty but thats it. Stay clear. If you want to get what you order or have a nice overall experience, maybe go next door to Mar Vista Dockside, it is more beautiful and the management and customer service is superb. I pointed at the one I wanted when I ordered, but brought me the one with pepper instead of the one I ordered. I don't really like pepper that much. I ate it, but was disappointed. The branzino was not that great. They were also out of chicken, which someone in my party wanted, leaving them to order something he did not want. The kids enjoyed their burgers though. We also requested to sit outside, but the outside was closed. That was disappointing, I wish I was told that, as I would have made reservations elsewhere.The inside where we were seated was very dark, you could barely see. The portions are also very small. I would rate 3.5 stars if I could. Started out a little rough - we arrived on time for our 5:45pm reservation and they claimed our res was at 5:00pm. I asked why no one contacted me and turns out they recorded my cell phone number wrong even though it was the number I called on. No one apologized or cared. So they only had a high top left in the glassed in room which was quite hot. Besides that the food was good but a bit pricey for what it is. I got the crab cake app which was exciting for me because it was GF and you never see GF crab cakes. I enjoyed the blood orange margarita and the shrimp and scallop risotto. I came to Shore for lunch with my family, at the suggestion of my aunt who lives locally. It certainly lived up to her high praise! First of all, the view and ambiance really can't be beat. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. The food was also excellent! We shared their kung pao calamari to start, which was bursting with flavor. It had a slight spiciness to it, but nothing too crazy. Just enough! The calamari itself was great, with a good balance of rings and tentacles. For my entree I opted for their signature miso marinated black Grouper, served with a rice cake and a delicious sauce. I'd definitely come back here next time I'm in Sarasota, and would love to try their dinner menu as well! read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants on LBK. We come here often.Our favorite entrées are the fillet and shrimp/scallop risotto. This past week a new waitress did not place my order to the kitchen correctly and unfortunately, I had to send it back and did not have the opportunity to enjoy my meal with my friend. But here's the best part. While I was disappointed not to eat at the same time, they did comp my two cocktails, my entire entrée and surprised us with a dessert on the house!!! Wow!! That is amazing customer service. Everyone makes mistakes and I totally get that. But they made every effort to make it right!!! down a residential you go. at the bay (east) end of Broadway, you are met with valets and an elegant entry. beyond, is a lovely view of the docks on the bay, and at night, twinkling lights of Sarasota in the distance. you are also welcome to arrive by boat. this enhances the casual elegant ambiance. the fire pits are nice on a winter night, thought more to look at than for the warmth, rarely needed here on Longboat Key. The excellent, relatively low key menu is delish. Love the burgers...really. Menu items are the same as at their St Armand's Circle location. Both restaurants have a shop of lovely, resort wear. but, on Longboat the view adds so much. The docks are lit below, so even at night you can see fish Below and birds afloat.
