We went here during the Fairport Revival festival "thing" (for lack of remembering the real name of the festival), and had a great time! Live music wise-it sounds awesome in Short's!! Loud and clear. You can hear it well throughout the whole bar. There were A LOT of people in the bar, but it didn't feel packed. I had room to hold my drink and move around a bit to the music. Drinks are very strong. Be cautious and/or have lots of fun and call an Uber. Bathrooms are clean and well kept! Am happy to go back when I get the chance :) read more

I have been to this bar many times visiting friends while in Fairport and always liked it. But, we went on New Years Eve and could tell something was off when we tried to order food. We chalked it up to the kitchen staff being overwhelmed on a holiday, but still ordered. Next thing I know, the girl next to me was kicked out and so was I -- apparently because I was just standing next to her? I tried to ask what was going on/explain I was waiting for $60 worth of food I had just ordered. The male waiter yelled at me to leave and I again tried to ask what was going on. He gave me an unintelligible answer. Then the female kitchen staff came out and literally pushed me out of the building with her hands on me while I asked her to not touch me. Meanwhile my husband and best friend were upstairs at the pool table. I had NO IDEA what was going on. It was an unreal, unprofessional, and violating, experience -- to the point that I feel I was purposefully just scammed for money. I'm reporting to the bar & police. I will never go back. read more

i don't often leave reviews but honestly i would have LOVED this bar had the bartender not been a complete asshole. pierce or whatever his name is was visibility annoyed anytime i interacted with him and was rude on several occasions to me and other people at the bar. sooo disappointed and hope this bar gets better staff! read more

What a terrible establishment, I can't believe it's been around as long as it has. Some of the staff are very rude and are too busy socializing than serving the customers. It's definitely NOT a welcoming place. I can see why there weren't many people in the bar. I would never recommend anyone going here. read more

When live music was the latest trend (late 70's early 80's) there were some great bookings - Stevie Ray Vaughan, William Alexander, and the Dukes, to name just a couple of them. Food has always been excellent and the DJ (if there is still one there) is one of the better in the area. read more

Some of your staff works so hard, they are empathetic, polite and sometimes struggling because they are so busy. But One of the bartenders..whether he is a proprietor or investor or an employee I cannot say. Physically he is a large white male. He is rude, short, aggressive in his questions as if he is doing you a favor by talking to you. Like an order is a bother to you... but you're working bar? I work in the industry and have the utmost respect for every position. I have never felt so disrespected. read more

Survived two rounds with a friend from the area. Yes they have 2 bar size pool tables and a few good beers on tap but horrible mixed drinks. Ordered a Long Island Iced tea and it came in a mix??? $10 for a crappy mix, how hard is it to pour the 5 liquors in the glass that you need to use a cheap and terrible tasting mix. Worst Long Island in forever. So for the next Round switched to a beefeater and tonic, gross. The beefeater was fine but the tonic from the gun was rancid. My buddy enjoyed some good drafts and a few rounds of pool. Lower table is better than upstairs table. read more

The only thing that would keep me coming is the karaoke! The crowd can be great but can turn awful real quick. Staff were not very pleasant. It took forever to get a drink unless you were friends with the bartendars. If you rub any of them the wrong, forget getting any service let alone a drink! Wells were surprisingly pricy for a small cup. If it wasn't for the fact that it's the only actual karaoke bars in rochester besides the one in henrietta, I wouldn't come out this far. read more

Will never be going back to this bar ever again!!! Go there often with a group of friends normally a good experience, but tonight was quite the opposite. They closed the women's bathroom because some girl got sick, so two girls in our group went into the men's room while the guys waited outside and made sure no other guys would walk in. Bar tender sees what's going on has the bouncers barge into the bathroom and open the door wide open while the girls were using the bathroom still, kicks the guys out of guarding the bathroom door for the girls. It's not illegal in New York for a woman to use to men's room, especially when that's her only option. Will not be going back to this bar! read more

I went to Shorts Bar and Grill to spend time with a couple of friends when I was visiting home. What negatively impacted the whole experience for me was the pornography that is all over the walls of the men's bathroom in Shorts. I was taken aback by pictures of topless women in many places in the men's bathroom and was very uncomfortable. I would advise nobody to go to Shorts for their own health and wellbeing and so as to not support an establishment that shows pornography. These pictures are dehumanizing to those women and cause others to objectify them. In addition, these pictures trivialize how we view human nature and sex. It's these kinds of attitudes that lead to sexual exploitation and other kinds of harm to men, women, children, and teens of all ages. It is for these reasons why I give Shorts one out of five stars and would advise people not to go there. I also would formally ask Shorts to remove these pictures and any others like it in the location. read more

stopped in to watch the 'cuse game 3/22/14. there were about 10 people in the bar. bartender decided, for whatever reason, to completely ignore us. he was too busy moving beer from one cooler to another. after about 10 minutes we left and went down the street to the landing where we had dinner, a few drinks, watched the game and had great service. read more
