Great find in Placentia. My wife and I were looking for a new breakfast location to try out. Atmosphere was great. Seating outside was nice and food was great. My wife had the avocado breakfast burrito and it came with pico de gallo on the side. It was pretty big because she only ate half of it and She said pico de gallo was real good. Since I was hungry order combo breakfast and added side of hash browns. What I liked about the food it was made so anybody can add salt and pepper to their taste buds. Lastly ordering food was quick and service was great. The employees were friendly and did a great job of filling up our coffee cups. We were at a basketball tournament near by and wanted to grab a quick breakfast! This was so good for both adult and kids meals. The kids loved the chocolate chip pancakes and the bacon! My boyfriend told me about this neighborhood breakfast place, and insisted I check it out. I had a late morning work shift, so I grabbed him and we went on a Monday morning. It's pretty "hidden" in a corner spot, of the Target shopping center, near Don Jose's. The place is larger inside than you'd assume, and has outdoor patio seating as well (although traffic noise may be an issue). Once we entered, we were greeted warmly by two cashiers, working the counter. The menu can appear intimidating at first, but is organized well, and I learned they serve lunch too (maybe even dinner, as I blanked on their closing hours). I decided on the veggie omelet and was happy egg-whites were an option (I had asked). It comes with hash browns, toast of your choice, and avocado slices. I didn't end up eating those, since I'm managing my calorie intake (but took them as leftovers, for a lady staying with me). I likely could have asked for fruit, but spaced on that. The restaurant was clean, decorated nicely, and grew more crowded as time went on. They had a big screen tv and I saw high chairs stacked to the end, showing they're kid friendly. The omelet was delicious. Mine came with mushrooms, tomatoes, and onions, plus swiss cheese. It was served hot and one lady came by quickly, to ask how everything was and to refill my coffee. I was taking pictures, like a typical Yelper, and they brought me a brochure to see their menu items better. I will easily be back again, soon, and would recommend this place to others. read more

Came with family for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Ordered at the counter and waited for a table to become available. Got a table a few minutes before food was ready. They ask that you not be seated until you get a number for your order, which is nice to prevent table-hogging). Two of our four orders were prepared slightly incorrectly (added ham when I explicitly asked for no ham, and forgot avocado when my wife clearly asked for it to be added). Waitress apologized sincerely for both mistakes. Food was good, portions were large, and prices were reasonable ($30 for 2 adult and 2 kids, adults drank water). Restroom was decent; paper towel dispenser batteries were dying; informed waitress and she thanked me. Parking was easy since the neighboring restaurant was closed. I understand this place is known for their friendliness and breakfast menu, the breakfast burritos in particular. I can see, however, why they are not known for their tuna sandwiches. I ordered a tuna sandwich today and it kinda sucked. The tuna salad on the sandwich was really runny and very salty without much flavor from seasonings which should always be included in tuna salad. The bread was good and perfectly toasted but they didnt leave off the items that I requested be left off. Although, I'd rather sit down and order from a menu, rather than fast casual Shortyz makes up for it with exceptional service! My daughter and I decided to share a bacon and avocado breakfast burrito and it was plenty. I would defiantly order it again. The coffee was good and they have flavored creamer.
