You know it's been a cracker of a night if you ended up at Showys. Usually preceded by free-flowing drinks, some crazy antics and a lot of laughs, a visit to Showgirls is a generally guaranteed good time. Generally. What can you say about a strip club really. Compared to some others (I'm no expert), it is one of the less seedy ones. Being on the main strip (ha) it does have visitors like yourself who are innocently looking for a bit of fun, rather than just being full of gawking older men. Nothing against the men. And due to it's popularity, the dancers are of a pretty good standard. On the night I went the girls were gorgeous and talented. I would recommend taking a couple of fivers to give the girls - I feel uncomfortable just going to watch without giving anything. But that's just me. What could be better than ending a night out on the drink than ending it at Showgirls? It's dark, seedy, naked girls dancing; It is a strip club after all, and it is pretty awesome. Compared to some of the other strip joints in town, this establishment is relatively clean (Perhaps clean is not the best choice of words, hmmm let's say less dirty), and the dancers are very attractive, not to mention talented. I'd usually choose Showgirls if I had to choose a strippers to go to at the end of the night, or even at the start of the night for that matter because before 7pm they have free entry. And besides, Showgirls is right down the bottom of town. To visit some of the other strip clubs would involve a long walk up Queen Street, and no one is keen for that at 2am. read more

I've had a very memorable experience at Showgirls. It was one of those weird nights where you end up somewhere and think "hmm how did we manage to end up here..oh who cares..?" My overall opinion of the place was hey.. not bad!! The show was EXTREMELY entertaining and definitely worth the money you spend to get in. I was right up front getting close and personal with the girls, who I thought were gorgeous and great performers. The things they can do on poles... well I could only imagine attempting that. It made for a really fun night! Not the kind of thing I might do every weekend but if the time is right or the opportunity comes knocking I won't say no. It's a good bit of fun! read more

What a load of bullocks! I go outside for a ciggy. As I go back in the women at the door ok's me. The bouncer Steve who has his back to me talking to the women at the door comes up and grabs me and starts pushing and prodding me to go back to reception.at which stage the women at the reception pretends she doesn't recognize me when she clearly said she recognized me when I was out for a ciggy 15 minutes b4.Rainy night so not busy. This place is TRASH. The girls are terrible dancers and don't even try to be entertaining. Worst of all, they accused my man of using his phone when he didn't have his phone out AT ALL. So we said fuck that accusing ass bullshit and when it came down to it the bouncer said "it's because of the dreads." So basically, this is a RACIST establishment and they don't want Black people in here. We're spending our money but they still want to target and racially profile paying customers.
