We have spent an extraordinary amount of money in both of these stores. We rarely need to make returns, but we just had a recent instance of having to return 5 bags of polymeric sand because we decided to have the job done by a contractor. I saved the receipt and my husband went to the store to return the sand. It was a VERY UNPLEASANT experience to learn that there is a 90 day window on returns (with receipt) and NO EXCEPTIONS ARE GRANTED FOR A RESELLABLE ITEM such as polymeric sand! Needless to say, we have made our LAST purchase at Lowes and I will be sharing this VERY NEGATIVE experience EVERYWHERE I can.

Long enough not to take any bullshit from people, but still very nice. He always gives you an apple. He has nice pies and baked goods, and fresh fruit and veggies. This is what shopping used to be. Super markets used to be markets, and markets used to be fruit stands and that's what this is. Perhaps there is no place for a fruit stand in our world anymore. This antiquated idea of commerce (doesn't even take charge cards!!!) won't last in the age of facebook and for that reason is worth supporting. It's worth seeing and being a part of. His cash register is older than you are. He's been making his own way since time began by selling things that are good for you, made by farms, bakers and craftsman from up the road. There is integrity and honor in that.

Had to recently downgrade by two star after *two* consecutive price increases on bird seed/nuts. I…read morespend A LOT feeding the birds. I understand everything is going up, but this was sticker shock. Bulk was $1.99 for the longest time so when it went up to $2.49 in one jump I thought it was steep but I understood. Then, only a few weeks later it went up to $2.99 (or 2.89?)!! That hurt. So now I will be going back to Wild Birds Unlimited because they are actually competitive since this price increases after your 15% bird food discount (with their membership) and $10 off for every 200 you spend, the math speaks. There are still a couple of items that I will buy here but they just priced themselves out of my major bird food spending. Agway also went up but their sunflower chips and seed are still reasonably priced. No store loyalty incentive except for a specific manufacturer which doesn't apply to most of my purchases. Hopefully something will change and I'll return to doing the bulk of my bird food shopping there.
