The main problem with Shugah Boutique is that it's overpriced. They sell some nice clothes from brands that you see in shops along Adelaide street in the city (Princess Polly, My Monkey's Uncle etc.), but they're usually more expensive here. Maybe it just seems a bit overpriced because you're not shopping in the city for something to wear to a party, you're just peeking in on your way to Coles next door, but either way I've never bought anything here because it seems too expensive. I often browse, and it's nice to have some eye candy between running errands at Coles and the post office, but the fact that I've always left empty-handed is saying something (let's just say I'm not known for my sensible purchasing history). The staff seem okay. They basically leave you alone which I think is preferable to the dreader hoverer, but there have been times when a simple hello wouldn't have gone astray.
Shugah Boutique is surprisingly busy and popular despite it's location amidst more practical shops like the supermarket, bakery, and newsagent so it obviously appeals to lots of people. More power to them. It's nice to have somewhere to browse clothes in Newmarket, even if it doesn't inspire me to purchase. read more
