I found one here in excellent condition for $400 and was very happy with the purchase, especially as they had a sale on that day for an extra 10% off. Watch their Facebook page and Instagram for sales and for new items in stock. The only negative I had about the store was that there was a very faint smell of cigarettes but it was not in the clothes so not really a big deal. The lady in the store was friendly and helpful and there was no pressure to buy anything. With the fashion industry having such an environmental impact, I've been trying to buy fewer things by buying quality clothes that will last a longer time and buying consignment whenever I can. Will definitely stop in here whenever I am on the hunt for a new addition to the wardrobe.

Furthermore, they even included a hand-written Thank You note to express their appreciation of supporting their small business during these hard times. I also picked up some greeting cards and stickers that I fell in love with, which were also Montreal-based. They also had a little corner of cute pins that you can decorate your clothes and/or bags with. The staff here were super friendly and were all knowledgeable in terms of the information on the designers. For whatever reason, the artists they carried just appealed to me the most - personal aesthetics I guess. I visited some of their websites later and was not surprised to see many of them working in other mediums and having professional portfolios. It's not cheap, but it's worth a look if you're in the area. There were a fair number of accessories and other home goods I could pass on, but the hits are worth the trip again. You can tell the owners spent a lot of time curating their collection thoughtfully. I will definitely be back for more fantastic finds on my next trip to Montreal.

I used to sell yarn and fabric, so I loved the different textures and materials on display, from a luxuriously dense knit sweater to an elegant silk blouse. The design of each item was trendy but approachable -- I am a jeans and t-shirt kinda lady but I saw things I would wear. So why didn't I come home with a whole new wardrobe? Price, of course, sigh. Les Étoffes is definitely a special-occasion boutique, and alas I was only sightseeing. I ordered the dress on a Thursday morning, paid for standard shipping and assumed it would arrive sometime next week since I live in Alberta. Imagine my shock when it arrived the NEXT DAY. Opened it up and everything was beautifully wrapped in ribbon with a beautiful note to boot. The dress is gorgeous - it will definitely need some hemming but I could not be more thrilled. I 100% will be buying from here again.

I asked if I could get a new one as she rolled her eyes and walked away to get a brand new one. again the prices are good, just don't have high expectation for customer service.

Very interesting to peruse the boutique as the do carry brands and many old nostalgia and vintage wear yet in a modern setting which is clean and well merchandised. I didn't grab anything on my visit but I want to come back as there are many cool pieces to spice up that wardrobe or add some flair to that closet of yours.
