The store it's self has a really great vibe and nice girls working there. They do have a website but it's not the best so always best to come on by or even call if you have something in mind. What caught my eye today was the Barbie in the lingerie never seen a sexy Barbie before I'm for it. Hope to see more fun store front creations on my next passing by.

When you…read morestep inside the store, you can see the Marie Antoinette-era/boudoir-inspired decor, from the colors, the furniture, as well as the frilly/girly tops, sweaters, and dresses. I especially liked their tops, as I am a huge fan of ruffles - the cut and the design is really pretty and would be great with a sweater/cardigan ensemble. I purchased a really cute bag from Matt & Nat here, a Montreal-based vegan line of purses - the store had a really nice selection and a variety, so check them out. Any purchases come with a lovely reusable store bag, so that was super awesome! Service was very friendly - Catherine was all smiles and very accommodating and made sure that I found everything that I was looking for! :D +ask for Catherine :D +great selection of Matt & Nat vegan line +Marie Antoinette-inspired designs +located off of St. Catherine, across from Kazu

However I was so impressed with the online experience I had to write a review anyways. So first I was very excited that the dress I was interested in was available in plus sizes - i used the sizing chart and because I was inbetween I sized up deciding if I needed to I would get it altered. if I didn't like it I could send it back because they have a solid return policy. I ordered the dress on a Thursday morning, paid for standard shipping and assumed it would arrive sometime next week since I live in Alberta. Imagine my shock when it arrived the NEXT DAY. Opened it up and everything was beautifully wrapped in ribbon with a beautiful note to boot. The dress is gorgeous - it will definitely need some hemming but I could not be more thrilled. I 100% will be buying from here again.

I was ready to drop over 1000.00$ for my wedding dress & 5 brides maid dresses and they didn't seem to care. waiting almost 25 minutes to check out, and the cashier wanted to give me the sample dress without a garnet bag... the dress was worn multiple times and not so white anymore. I asked if I could get a new one as she rolled her eyes and walked away to get a brand new one. again the prices are good, just don't have high expectation for customer service.

I can believe it. Here's a quick list of cool, vintage and even designer items I have found at this Fripe-Prix Renaissance. Le Creuset Enameled Dutch Oven, new, brown, unused with the sticker still on it. Retail price: $250 FPR price: $5 Le Creuset enameled cast iron frying pan, white, in near mint condition Retail price: $150 FPR price: $5 Azzedine Alaia sweater, navy blue, slightly used, no holes, no stains, Made in Italy, 100% wool Retail Price: $2000+ FPR price: $7 Aquascutum navy blue trench coat, never worn and still had the tags attached Made in Great Britain, 100% wool Retail price: $2000+ FPR price: $35 1960s/70s era Chrome General Electric, round tea kettle On ebay: $100 FPR price: $7 I have also found Italian Merino wool sweaters for $7, large heavy, metal decorative mirror in sunburst design $12, ceramic clay plant pots for 50 cents, 1970's Viking Blender for $7 with metal machine parts, not the stupid breakable plastic kind they have nowadays, home yogurt making machine, Depression-era glass goblets in ruby or cobalt blue, Calvin Klein and Banana Republic hoodies, giant snap-top jars for keeping dried foodstuffs for $1, complete book series of Harry Potter and A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones), foldable IKEA garden table $5 and a whole slew of other stuff. You get the idea. Mind you I didn't just stop in here once or twice and happen to get all this cool stuff. I walk by this place practically everyday on my way to the metro so I usually get in a chance to duck in and have a quick look around. That and having a trained eye towards quality goods will eventually land you something if you're persistent enough. I really dislike the disposable, throw-away aspect of our culture and there really is truth that one person's junk can be another person's treasure. Plus Fripe-Prix Renaissance's mission is about helping persons who are usually disadvantaged get some skills and build up the confidence to stand on their own. Shopping here is just a win-win situation for everybody.
