We have maintained our insurance coverage and followed the instructions provided by the office, yet we continue to be sent back and forth between staff members and billing without clear answers or resolution. The lack of communication and coordination has created unnecessary stress during a situation that is already medically urgent. Delays in treatment for patients with chronic illnesses can have serious consequences. Again, my concern is not with Dr. Ventrapulli's medical care, which I value, but with the administrative process and the difficulty in getting timely assistance from the office staff. I hope the office can improve its communication and patient support moving forward.

Interestingly enough, my spiritual counselor commented on how at least four or five other clients of hers complained vehemently about the abusiveness of ucla to her within the same week I had mentioned all this office's abuses. These complaints and negative reviews of this doctor's office are some of their most accurate and honestly authentic accounts of having to deal with such abusive offices like this one. Note Regarding signed authorization forms: When the patient provides the entity with his own signed authorization form to obtain a copy of records and go over policies like insurance coverage, communications, and the like, the entity is obligated to accept the form that the patient provides over their own forms. Any form of manipulation and coerciveness and pressure to sign their forms in addition to the ones you already provided them is unlawful under the Privacy Rule and these are bad business practices on their part. Under any circumstance, do not succumb to their abuses and intimidating tactics to strongarm you into al their phishing schemes to find excuses to know things about you that is none of their business and as they try to look for excuses to withhold sending you a copy of your own medical records to you. WE must be steadfast and persistent in knowing our rights as patients as these entities will stop on no account taking away what little rights we have in the first place, even when they are in the wrong. Report them to the Office of Civil rights but be ready to stay in the saddle with them for the long haul.

Given the advanced stage of my Restless Legs Syndrome, I have been prescribed very strong drugs including Methadone. Without this medication, I cannot sleep and have to walk all night with pain in my arms and legs. This cascades into insomnia, which triggers migraines, which causes me to miss work, risking my high level job. As a highly controlled substance, I have to have the doctor call right around when I need a refill. Twice now, my doctor at this center has been impossible to reach and does not return calls in a timely manner. This week I had to call 5 times over 3 days to get my prescription taken care of. This is horrible patient service. When I asked why it took so long to get help, I was given a string of excuses about how busy he is. Then don't take on new patients if you can't do something as simple as fill a prescription or call your patient when she is having issues with her medication. I won't be going back to see Dr. Padilla and I advise you not to see him either if you need responsive care for your RLS. According to Yelp, the UCLA Westwood center gets poor reviews as well. I'm going back to my old doctor. The hour drive for appointments is worth it when refills are placed the same day and medication issues called into the doctor are returned the same evening.

I am a knowledgeable medical consumer, and I was impressed by both his long experience and manner. However, my shoulder replacement is one of his failures and I am left with 30% use of my arm. Even Dr. I said "I am sorry you were part of my learning curve." I WENT TO HIM BECAUSE OF HIS EXPERIENCE! It turns out he didn't realize the prosthesis was too large, which he only discovered during surgery number 2 to correct what he thought was a tendon rubbing against the implant. By then it was too late. I recovered from that surgery only to find that I still have poor ROM and constant pain. What still bothers me is how he could not know the implant was too large. Weren't he and his team supposed to plan out the surgery using information from the CAT scan to avoid such an occurrence? It took 11 months of repeated agonizing weeks during which I could not drive, care for myself, or even cut my own food before he decided to operate again. That was 7 months ago and I know now I will forever be in pain and have limited motion as a result of the shoulder replacement. I only discovered this when I finally sought another surgeon's input and upon viewing my x-rays, he was able to explain why I continue to have pain and poor use of my arm. Oh, and I also have tingling in my fingers since surgery #1. I can barely type. And I'm a writer. As horrible as my surgical experience was, getting though to him or to his people and going for appointments was even worse. I'd wait days for a call back, which often was simply ignored. If he hadn't given me his cell phone number I never would have gotten through. I only texted him when I was in agony and he responded "your nerves are on fire." That was November. I had the second surgery in March. So you can see how slowly things progressed. Sure he's affable. And you can't argue with his resume. But I am not one of his wins. For the rest of my life, I will be crippled due to his failure.
