I lived in Stuttgart 18 years ago, and this stand was my go-to stop when I was in the mood for a crepe. During a recent return trip, I had wondered if there'd be any chance this place was still in existence. Admittedly I walked a bit faster out of the hauptbahnhof and across the street to where I remembered the stand being, and lo and behold-- there it was! I was reunited with my favorite classic crepe-- lemon and sugar-- and it was as delicious as I remembered! They have several options, the line moves quickly, and it's priced right for a quick snack on the go.

Its small and not uncommon for people to share a table when crowded I have been told. It is very cozy and has a warm feel. They focus on various types of Crepes and have many to choose from. I had lamb, vegetable and goats cheese and it was great. The restaurant is not far from the famous church in the center of town that is in many post cards. Definitely worth a stop.

Der Kellner hat unsere Fragen einfach ignoriert. Ich fragte, ob man die Eissorte wechseln kann, und bekam keine Antwort. Mein Sohn fragte nach Fruchteis - ebenfalls keine Reaktion. Es fühlte sich an, als würden wir mit uns selbst sprechen. Da wir kaum Deutsch sprechen, fragten wir, ob der Kellner Englisch spricht. Auch das half nicht, und eine richtige Kommunikation war nicht möglich. Am Ende mussten wir einfach auf die Speisekarte zeigen und bekamen trotzdem nicht das, was wir eigentlich bestellen wollten. Leider mussten wir das essen, was gebracht wurde. So etwas haben wir noch nie erlebt. Was eigentlich ein schöner Familienausflug sein sollte, wurde durch den unfreundlichen und desinteressierten Service zu einer sehr enttäuschenden Erfahrung.

We tried buckwheat crepes with cheese, fried onions, and a sunny-side-up egg: yum. The portions are generous and filling, but that didn't stop us from ordering a chocolate crepe for dessert--mmmmm! We washed it down with a sweet hard cider. Sitting by the open windows, watching the street traffic on the alderstadt, listening to the cook sing along to the French music--we could believe for a moment in harmony in the world.
