I was looking around for the best price for my budget and I found this massage parlor that had a pretty good rating so I decided to give it a try. At first I requested a quote through Yelp and was not going to go through with it, but my back was hurting too much. I don't know the name of the lady that was sitting at reception but she was very friendly and nice. I got massaged by Daisy and, lemme tell you she got some strong hands. I asked her not to massage my feet as I do not like people touching my feet and she accommodated my request. She was constantly asking if I was okay as to not crush my small fragile body it's her strong hands Parking may be tricky cuz when I went there , there was only one spot available and it didn't look like anyone was parking on the street. But it was dark and I could be wrong. This is a great place to get a massage! My friend and I have been coming to this specific location (they have 3 different locations now) for quite a number of years. Always extremely nice customer service and good to excellent massages. The owner is always friendly and sweet when we've been there. She also gives great massages the few lucky times I was able to get her as my masseuse. The parking can be tricky as the lot is tiny and is shared with at least one other business - but we usually manage to find parking in the front and it isn't too much of an issue. I usually go with the swedish massage, but have tried the combo, hot stone and hot oil massages - all great. I really like how I get some stretching at the end and I feel really relaxed when done. With that being said - you do have to make sure and communicate your preferences on pressure level as some masseuses are softer/harder than others. I've been there twice so far and the first was good-she used great pressure and listened to my about my problem areas but then the second time I had someone else and it felt very rushed of a massage. She would leave the room to get stuff for minutes at a time and that cut through my hour massage and then she didn't make up for that lost time. Normally, I love this place. I come here whenever I have back ache and soreness. However, there are times they disappoint you - especially when you're pregnant and trying to get a parental massage. Today, I called at 9:58am to book a prenatal massage, which they usually can offer and do a great job. My normal masseuse, Jenny, wasn't in today. So I said I'll take anyone who's good and can offer prenatal massage. When I came at the appointment time, they said they can only do light and medium pressure, which is fine. However, the masseuse I had clearly seemed VERY uncomfortable to massage a pregnant woman. First, she asked me if I ever had massage. I said yes. I come almost very weak when I could. Then, she asked to shorten the time of massage. Said it's not good for the baby. Um? Ok. I cleared this with my doctor, but, I didn't want to debate about it. Sure. Shorten the time I already booked. Then, during the massage, she clearly was NOT comfortable. She barely put ANY pressure on me. She repeatedly asking: "Are you okay?", "Are you ok?", "Are you ok?" I told her that I used to get deep tissue massage before I got pregnant. So I am used to getting massage, and I am not asking her for deep tissue right now, Just regular massage is fine. She was still VERY uncomfortable. Finally, I said, if you are so uncomfortable, maybe we can switch a person? She got the front desk lady, Anne, to talk to me. Anne said that they cannot offer massage to me because it has to be light to medium pressure, which I had no problem with. But, then Anne kept on talking about they are concerned about my baby and can't do much massage on me... I ended up leaving the place 15 minutes after my appointment time, with a bunch of oil on my back and no massage. They were not apologetic for taking my appointment even though they could not offer prenatal massage, and that I blocked 2 hours of my day to get massage. It was absolutely disappointing and frustrating. They should NOT offer prenatal massage, if that not what they can offer. I did not ask for deep tissue or anything more serious. I had my doctor's approval to get massage. But how they kept on saying that they are concerned about my baby, so they cannot offer regular massage to me, other than putting a bunch of oil on me...was very unprofessional. Before I got pregnant, I also had several times disappointing experiences, where the masseuse just put a bunch of oil on you and lightly rubbed you. But, today was definitely the worst. read more

The good: It was easy to make appointments online. I paid $80 for a pregnancy massage and got it while 37 weeks pregnant. I thought it was a great value compared to other places that offer similar experiences for more money. They gave several reminders via phone call prior. The massage space was relaxing with dim lights and a comfortable temperature. My massage therapist had warm hands (or warm oil in her hands) and they were smooth and strong. I had a pillow to hug so I could lay on my side. I fell asleep toward the end of the massage so that was relaxing. After 5 visits, you can get 30 minutes free with a stamp card. I liked the aromatherapy scent in the lobby area and the look of the archways into each massage room. The bad: My ribs felt uncomfortable laying on my side but that's probably just due to pregnancy itself. I wish the table were softer but I think it needs to be adequately firm for the Thai-style massage. The entire hour I was there the same song was playing on repeat. While it was a relaxing-style song, it was very repetitive and I wish there was a little bit more variation. You could hear cars pass outside but it was white noise. It might bother others but was ok for me. The interesting: It felt like an authentic Asian massage in that they asked you no questions, you don't fill a questionnaire, and the therapist never introduced their name. Was in increased need of a good deep massage with an emphasis on my neck & shoulders. I normally go to a spot in Long Beach/Lakewood but this place was more convenient for me on this one day. Made a same-day appointment but had a last-minute masseuse change because some of them have tired hands later in the day, so keep that in mind if you want someone in particular. They accept both cash and card, even with no additional fee for using a card and no reduced fee for using cash. The parking lot can be a bit small and difficult to get out of during peak hours but patrons seem to be in and out rather quickly. I had a combination of Thai and Swedish massage with check-in hot stones. Nok was my masseuse and compared to others I've had, she was a bit light on the pressure without me asking for adjustments. It seems that if you want increased pressure, it'll qualify for a different massage and cost more. At other places though, I've gotten massages with increased pressure and it costs less. I think the massages here are good in a pinch but if you have areas needing attention, better to go elsewhere with specializations. Not really a fan of the tip guide at the front desk where it shows you that with a smaller tip, the cartoon masseuse will not be happy... I think there are better ways of handling that matter. Cons: Parking lot is tiny... literally 3 spots. If you try to go further in & you have anything bigger than a Smart Car, you're doing a 48 point turn to get out. I've been going here for years. I have a therapist I work with regularly and I'm grateful that she has gotten to know me so well that she can just tell where I need the most work. When she is gone out of country I'm miserable. I've tried other therapist but they just don't know my issues and think they are helping but are not. I've learned I just have to wait for my therapist and not settle for anyone else when she is gone. If you talk to the owner she can usually set you up with someone who may be a good fit for you. I don't trust anyone else to do that at the moment. Also the girls may not ask and if the owner isn't there the receptionist will not ask if you have any issues ie areas you need work on, or areas that are tender or you don't want touched. You will have to make that clear when you go in. I like the office but it is very loud with outside traffic and front office noise especially when music isn't working. They have great specials and their prices are very reasonable in my opinion. read more
