Unlike in the London bars, this place is clearly about good friends coming out to have a good time. A great mix of the older and younger lesbian and a very friendly and un-predatory place. We managed to wander in on Karaoke night (score), and there's nothing about really getting a feel for the place when people are warbling bad pop tunes down a microphone. There was a nice enough selection behind the bar and a few drink offers. There's a large beer garden with plenty of seating, a main bar area with a dinky DJ booth and another room with the obligatory pool table and additional seating. Surprisingly, there's only one toilet - and all night I had no problem in going for a tinkle. I wish I could move this bar down south with me, but I can't. And if I ever return to ole bham- I will certainly pop in again.

Bar prices are good, where you'll typically pay less than £3 for a pint. It's a male only venue, primarily for bisexual, gay and bicurious guys, and you find guys getting intimate, as such venues permit, away from critical others etc. If you want to party, without breaking the bank, this is a reasonable venue to look at, as bar prices are good, as mentioned. You can get to meet some of the friendly locals, as well as out of towners visiting. You can think of it as a place to finish off, after starting your evening elsewhere, paying a couple of pounds for admission - depends on which day - or visiting late afternoon to get to meet with friends or make some new ones.

The venue is very deceptive, from the outside it looks like a small pub when infact it is a decent size club venue with a large room at the back for shows and performances. We were treated a very realistic Madonna impersonator complete with outfit changes and backing guitarist. I was surprised with the quality of the act that it was free entry all night, apparently this is the case all the time! Its safe to say a good night was had by all especially Jamie T who really harnessed his inner queen of pop. I will definitely be back to Eden soon i'm just gutted I left it so long before making a visit.

It was a sunny evening so we headed straight outside to the terrace area. When we arrived I was instantly impressed. When we walked in we were greeted by smiles all round and a funky bass line. I'd say it was 50/50 male and female in there which gave the place a great vibe as the other places I've been in the area had a predominantly male crowd. Later we found out that the shower is not hot, and the shower room is filthy- the walls and grout not cleaned in a long time, echoed by the dirt found in corners of the room and also a Dirty chair in the room. 2 coat hangers. We just left in the morning and caught a glimpse, no acknowledgment, no good morning, he must know how bad this place is. Now seeing other reviews, this place has gone downhill over last 12 months. Although this place can be a little quieter in the week it's always friendly and welcoming. The drinks are reasonably priced and the drag is fierce, if that isn't the recipe for a great night out I don't know what is.....Fans of all things pop and chart stick to the upstairs, if you are more into dance/bass music the basement is the place for you. Wherever you are dancing make sure you are upstairs for the cabaret, some of Birmingham's best drag acts grace the stage every Friday and Saturday night. Not to be missed.

The bar is very elaborately designed with large chandeliers and art work on nearly every surface or wall. The designers/owners have definitely adopted the 'more is more' approach here and it has worked well for them. The bar feels cosy and full of personality with welcoming bar staff and an equally lovely outside area/courtyard. As we all know happy hours/two for one offers on cocktails are a very good thing....Loft lounge has a two for one on selected cocktails most evenings after work! The drinks are well made and taste as they should, on our last visit our drinks did take a little while to come but the bar was very busy so this was completely understandable. If you are in the area loft lounge is well worth a visit. Great for meetings, lunch or as I mentioned a little after work drink with friends. It would be so easy to say 'it's missing something' but let's not be too negative…read more Part of Birmingham's main gay run, Missing is a smaller bar/club than most but doesn't let that stop it from shouting out its loud and proud status. The last time I visited in late 2011 was a Saturday night at about 6/half 6 - I was there for two hours and it genuinely felt like it was past midnight, such was the full-on nature. The DJ was already spinning tunes very loudly (prepare for cheese, dance and a Lady Gaga remix or four) and the crowd, although it wasn't very busy at this time, was shaking its collective bootie to 'Glee' songs on the dancefloor. If this sounds like your idea of hell, you'd probably be best to avoid. However, if you're up for a laugh, it offers a fun diversion and probably less of the 'sceney' attitude from other establishments in the gay quarter.

The maintenance and brand image standards have gone down and now the club is usually dead. The club consists of a front bar that plays electronic, dance and house music etc, the main room that has a stage and plays mainstream music as well as some cheesy classics, a drum and base room and a VIP room that's almost never open. There's also a small smoking area and a few booths to chill out in. The toilets are disgusting because once they start getting dirty they aren't cleaned though-out the night; so it seems. There are some good points though, hurrah! As you may have guessed from the name this place is cheap as the drinks start at one pound fifty. What a bargain right!? The service is good as the bar staff are friendly and chatty. Some even like to dance around the bar! I think the only time Skint actually comes to life is during the Gay Pride festival and even then it's not too bad. It's open from 8pm to 4.40 am.
