Since then, I've called at least five times to check on the status of my return. I spoke with his receptionist multiple times and with an account/tax manager twice. I also left messages specifically requesting a call back from Brent himself. It is now December, and I still have not heard a single update. The complete lack of follow-through and communication has been incredibly disappointing, and I am now seeking a different CPA. I do not recommend this firm.

That is considered the gold standard in accounting. Even with Forbush's significantly above market fee, I was comfortable. However, my work was delegated to an overworked newby, whom I suspect was not even a CPA. When I received an unexpected and unexplained refund check from the IRS, I brought it to his attention. He didn't know what to do, so he did nothing. The result of this inaction was an eventual penalty by the IRS. I finally obtained Brent Forbush's personal intercision with the IRS, but it was to no avail, even though the mistake was really made by the IRS. I did not get what I paid for and I have now taken my business elsewhere. I do not recommend this firm for individual tax preparation.

She proceeded to check me out, throwing the cost which was more than she had quoted me at the receptionist desk and THAN adding an extra charge for an EIC credit she added on because it "saves you money." The awkward silence that both engulfed us when I told her I wasn't going to pay that amount. Home girl just sits and stares at me, no words! Okay..., so I asked if I could get recommendations on where to file for free ( times are tough!) The lady refused to tell me and continues bringing up I'll have to pay fees regardless. So to avoid the awkwardness of it all because again this started because I chose not to pay the outrageous $170. I asked if I could get a snapshot of my tax return. Annoyed she said " Absolutely, Not." It gets a little more awkward after that statement somehow. But It was clear neither one of us was gonna have it our way. So I reach over her desk, grabbed my W2 and walked Right the fudge out. I ended up finding a free tax return site Taxact.com I accessed it through my ADP portal when downloading my W2. I got every last penny of my return, and saved my money being able to file for free. In addition, The website is backed by the IRS and is super user friendly. Good luck and don't get scammed!
