We had a lovely dinner here recently. We came in at 5pm without a reservation and were able to be seated quickly, even though it was already pretty crowded. I was a little nervous coming with two young kids, but they were very accommodating and brought out our daughter's food quickly after we ordered it. Our dinners were very delicious. Siena in Smithfield is a lovely and extremely attractive venue whereevery waitstaff individual aims to please. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed our first course - Caesar salads - crisp Romaine lettuce tossed in a tasty homemade lemon Caesar dressing with croutons & Parmigiano Reggiano cheese or Pasta e Fagiole Bianco soup filled with cannellini beans in a white sauce with prosciutto stock. The delicious Italian sliced bread as well as the phenomenal focaccia bread accompanied those dishes. Our entrees included Tagliatelle alla Bolognese consisting of noodles tossed with a Bolognese sauce made with pork, pancetta, a pasta Alfredo special, and Pollo Saltimbocca - a Scallopine chicken breast pan-sauteed with Prosciutto (but there was none on my entree), fresh sage leaves, marsala wine and roasted chicken stock, served with vegetable and potatoes upon request. We had dinner at Siena on 6/6-4 adults. Busy place food took almost 2 hours to get to us, and it was just warm Complained. By this time, it was 9:10pm. They wanted to make me a new dinner. Well, I live over 1/2 hour away and I didn't want to be there until 10 pm waiting for my food. They didn't take it off our bill. The waitress was so annoying trying to get me to have a dessert or tea or coffee. At that point I just wanted to leave. Glad I had a gift card. Went here for a birthday celebration and it was amazing! The servers were so friendly and accommodating for our large party. The food was so good! We had a set menu with some options to choose from. The caprese salad was so refreshing and perfect to start with. For the entree I went with the filet di manzo alla mamma and it couldn't have been better. For dessert I went with the torta chocolata and I've never had a richer piece of chocolate cake. Truly everything was a 10/10! Can't wait to go back. read more

This is such a cute spot for apps and drinks with your friends! Tried the vodka sauce pizza with eggplant and chicken and it was delicious! Loved the charcuterie board too . It was the perfect size for the two of us. Our server was very helpful when selecting the cheeses we wanted. Would definitely come back to try some entree menu items. read more

Went here for a family dinner with a party of 8 a few months ago and had one of those nights where unfortunately nothing seemed to go right (will spare details). Thankfully the staff were very attentive and apologetic; it really helped save the evening. Shout out to Tasha M for her kind and pleasant service! If you haven't been to the Smithfield location before, it's beautiful inside with plenty of parking available. The bar area is sophisticated and doesn't feel like a lounge. We were seated in the small room in the back that I imagine is available for private functions so it was fairly quiet; a great thing for a family dinner. Food was fairly average. Calamari looked phenomenal but was a bit tough and chewy. The fried peppers are a huge bonus. We had the crab risotto special and it was once again pretty average. There was a good amount of crab but overall it lacked a bit in flavor. The banana cheesecake was decent and a nice ending to the meal. read more

However, I was shocked to find no changing table in either bathroom -- despite the restaurant clearly welcoming families (there are high chairs everywhere). I had to change my baby on the bathroom floor. The floor. In 2025. At a family-friendly restaurant. It's honestly unacceptable and a major oversight. What an awesome and special place to spend an evening. We have been here many times for birthdays , holidays , etc. This occasion was for New Year's Eve. A lot of places fall short on this night. It's busy. Food is wrong. Reservations are late. Staff rushes you. Not the case here. We were say at our time and bread and water quickly brought over. As an aside please bring more than one slice of that delicious focaccia. I had to fight hubs for it. lol. They have a nice wine and beer list as well as some amazing cocktails. I had a lavender lemon drop. It was perfect. For dinner I started off with a salad with all kinds of tasty toppings. I had the baked gnocchi and it was so so cheesy and yummy. Hubs had the braised beer with pappardelle. Our food was Delcious , server right on point. This is not a cheap night out but I am a big believer of you get what you pay for. Everything was fresh and tasty. I have a big appetite so finished mine but hubs has a normal one and took half home. It's a really great spot. So, i will preface this review with the fact that I have been a longtime patron of Siena's. I started when they were a small little place on federal hill and have been a patron in both Smithfield and East Greenwich. I recently moved back to Smithfield and visited tonight ( July 3rd) . The food is always good and the staff attentive. But tonight was a different experience. We arrived at 6:15 and waited a bit to be seated but our wait staff was attentive and quickly took our drink order. 30 minutes in and we still didn't have our drink. It was busy and one bartender was probably not sufficient. However the biggest problem was a new tech system that staff was struggling with and that had a number of glitches. So after a very long wait for drinks and food the manager came by to apologize . Even the busboy tried to aid in our service! We finished at 9:10! Quite a night - this is on corporate though as their planning left their staff and customers very vulnerable and inconvenienced! I appreciate the many apologies and discussion about the perils of technology but maybe next time plan and support staff better and maybe comp a drink or dessert to show you appreciate to the customers patience and understanding! read more

For the 5th time, the New England Chapter of the NASPP organized a cocktail hour at the Siena in Smithfield. As always, they did a FAN TAS IC job. The venue is great...location....parking and the restaurant itself but it is the staff that makes the place shine. The prep to get the event organized...great. The serving staff...awesome. The drinks...5 stars...they even helped to create an event signature drink for us that everyone loved. They prepare a great menu that works out every year. We will 100% be back next year for year #6. Event had 60 ppl and we used the back of the dinning room (behind the horse). Five stars! read more

The food is always amazing here. But let me just talk about the manager Andrew for a second. He was amazing today when someone accidentally used the wrong card for our order's. Manager Andrew went above & beyond for a friend of mine when an error occurred regarding her card accidentally being charged $150, when it was only supposed to be charged $11. The manager voided the transaction but unfortunately it can take 3-5 days & she wouldn't have any money for her trip tomorrow so he personally Venmo'd her $100 out of his personal account- that is going above & beyond & he deserves a raise!! He didn't think twice about helping a loyal customer! This has happened to me many times & I have basically been told "too bad" but he went above and beyond & sent her $100 out of his personal account! Thanks again Andrew! I can't even begin to state how great of a person this guy was! My sister-in-law was extremely happy and grateful that they offered her a solution in such a positive way! Thanks again Andrew! We enjoyed our night out at Siena. We were seated on time for our reservation. Lots of nice wine, cocktail and mocktail options to choose from. Our waitress was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the fresh bread and butter. We started with the Inverno salad, lots of fresh greens, cranberries and walnuts. $15. The fried artichoke special was creative and delicious. The pastas entrees were good portions, fresh tasting, flavorful. $24 We had to try the Scripelle con Gelato for desert $11...flakey warm doughboys with vanilla gelato and warm Nutella...what could be better!! Swung by here today just to meet some friends and have a few drinks and seek redemption from my last visit when I was less than impressed with their Chicken Milanese. Ordered the Neopolitan Margherita and it was simply delicious. Sauce was tangy and zesty and it was the perfect side dish to accompany a couple of cold Stellas. Nice restaurant interior! Service was good! Food flavor was just OK, but the portion was so small and not really anything with it in the plate. Had the Cod, and just a small piece in the dish, and not really anything else. Very small dish for the price. Then we tried a desert. Same-thing, one little scoop of gelato and a tiny cup of expresso. Had to go somewhere else later as I was still hungry. Will not recommend to others! read more

My boyfriend and I stumbled into the Grenwich Siena years ago for our anniversary. They were gracious to seat us at a small table near the door on a fully reserved Saturday. We had incredible wine & and food, then we never found the time to go back. 2 weeks ago, we went to this location after finding out the Providence one closed, and this one reopened. I hesitate to write this review as I wish this gem would stay hidden, but the food is so incredible & the wine list is amazing. How can I not tell the world? We arrived at 4:45 hoping to get a bar seat but it was completely full, we assumed with regulars (older folks who can wait outside a restaurant at 4:25 for it to open). We weren't discouraged we just asked for a table in the bar instead. We got a bottle of an Italian Red 2018, reasonably priced and full bodied without being too heavy on the pallet. The waitress was very sweet, I believe her name was Stephanie, but I could be wrong she was a young Asian girl who was knowledgeable, professional & very sweet. She recommended the filet after having it, typically I get pasta at Siena but she made it sound very good and she was right. My boyfriend had the guanciale pasta and loved every bite, not too hot not too sweet. We split the short rib aranciani which was scrumptious. My only wish is this place was open for lunch on the weekends, they would make a killing! read more

I have been to the Siena location in Providence, so we tried this location. Great restaurant for a business dinner as the food and service is exceptional. The Bolognese is the best I have ever had, and I travel a lot. The restaurant had a classy atmosphere and the service could not have better. We also tried the tiramisu and a second desert that was similar to a funnel cake. But much better! read more

We ordered drinks first, my husband had the sangria and I had a Northstar. They were both good. My second drink was the federal hill martini, which was ok. My husband ordered a Henney and Coke, but was brought straight Coke. We had salads for our appetizers, they were ok. My husband had the filet special and it was cooked just how he wanted it and said it was good. I had the Frutti di mare and it was very good, my leftovers the next say were even better. We were very hopeful for a great experience. The ambiance was excellent - much better than the clubby vibe of the Providence location. Wait staff seemed nice and friendly. Maybe it's just me but I've always felt that you can get a pretty good sense of restaurant quality by the bread and butter that they serve. Butter straight out of the fridge wrapped in tin foil? Probably a cheap 1-2 star diner. Warm sour dough served with whipped butter at room temperature? 4 stars. Skip the butter altogether and serve a choice of fresh baked breads with chef's house made aioli? I'm primed for a 5 star experience! ... Well, Siena served us cold rolls next to a cool block of butter. Might as well be eating at Papa Gino's. But the Papa don't charge close to 30 bucks for their pastas. Al Forno's does. We held onto hope and ordered the arincini and a pizza for a group of 4. I must say, the arincini was rather tasty, served on a plate covered in gravy. Not bad. Then the pizza. The staff should really taste the food, because ours was a salt lick. It wasn't even the ham that was the problem. Someone salted the hell out of the grilled onions. Wow. Difficult to eat. Well, moving on to pastas. We had 4 of them. The gnocchi had a reasonable vodka sauce (nothing to write home about). But the pasta ate less like gnocchi and more like dumplin's from "chicken and dumplings" - aka hunks of dough. The bolognese was boringly flat. Pasta was bland but OK when eaten with overly salty bolognese sauce. I had the fra diavolo. I like the spice but again, very one note. And the frutti di mare was similarly underwhelming. None of our dishes were finished (other than the arincini). Why waste the calories? So we skipped dessert - not worth it. Overall, the food was OK. I can't give it more than a 3, when I feel like I can cook the food just as well at home. My wife calls it a 2. Not to be offensive, but we both agree that the quality at Cheesecake Factory is better. And so is the bread and butter! Maybe I'm onto something here, cuz any "fine dining" establishment that serves cold rolls and butter really just gave up somewhere along the way. Sorry Siena, but the 2.5-3 star food isn't worth the 5 star prices. For the same amount of money, I'd rather eat at Bacaro or Al Forno or even Massimo. Maybe that's why the restaurant was empty on a weekend? read more

To go for family was fabulous. We got one each with samples of all their salumeria, olives, and cheese. Put on a large carving board for beautiful antipasto plate. Also got a house salad which split easily for 4. 2 of their meatball appetizers- HUGE, easily a pound each. Split each into 4, ended up eating only half. Great chopped up next day for sandwiches. Was there about 2 weeks ago and I have been to Sienna in Smithfield many times before but this was by far the worst dinning experience I've had at any restaurant. I ordered the Potato Encrusted cod and for $30 got cod bits and pieces over god knows what topped with so many greens I had to move them a side to see where the cod was. I bit into what cod was there and it was terrible and salty. There wasn't 3 ounces of fish on the plate. There were a couple of shaved brussels sprouts and the smattering of the cauliflower puree. To be honest it looked like the plate had fallen then they recovered what they could and tried to hide it with more greens. Just a flat out zero star rating. My wife got the shrimp over risotto which was tasty but undercooked. The only reason I gave one star was because the other couple and my wife were some what satisfied. The waitress seemed annoyed but did try to be attentive. I should have sent the meal back but knew if I did, I would have been eating alone because everyone else had their meals. Making a reservation was key to dining here on the weekend, Great to have ample parking. Our table was ready about 5 min after we arrived. The service was good but it seemed like our server was a bit in a rush. I wish they would print the specials so we could have some time to digest the descriptions and make a decision. My husband had the bolognese, not much of a tomato element if that is what you are accustomed to, but very good.  I would say the portion was sufficient. I had the potato crusted cod.  The flavors and sauce were excellent but there was nothing potato about it.  It must have been dusted with ground potato flakes for a slight browning, I was expecting actual potato to make it "crusted" after my inquiry with the server.  The description said it came on a bed of shaved brussels sprouts, that too was almost non existent, I was hoping for a bit of vegetables with my fish. Again, my portion was sufficient, I could have enjoyed a few more bites, and I'm not a big eater.  Lavender lemon drop was excellent. Overall I would revisit, but maybe not on a busy Saturday night. read more

Party of 4 on a Friday night. Our sever was Sam and she was very good. All food...filet mignon, gnocchi, and short ribs...and drinks were good, with one exception. I got the pan seared scallops with risotto. It was delicious, but for $35, I got the five smallest scallops I've ever seen. Usually sea scallops are about the size of half dollar coin in width. Not one of these was even the size of a quarter. It tasted great, but not nearly worth the price. Maybe it was a small batch. If you're going to order them, I'd ask to see them first. read more

Had business dinner here tonight, and we stayed with the Lucca tasting board (Sopressata, Pecorino Toscano and Cerignola Olives), which was a good price for $14. Plus a portion of calamari fritti for $13. For my main course I indulged into a delicious Pollo alla Milanese ($19) - Two (2) thin breaded chicken cutlets topped with lemon dressed baby arugula & tomato salad & shaved Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. And I asked for a side of risotto. I enjoyed my fav Sauvignon Blanc, and for desert, a exquisite Tiramisu at only $8.50 Mimi was absolutely a pleasure to experience as a waitress - amicable, smiling all the time, knowledgeable and prompt. We've been to both Siena locations several times and in general had a great experience, but this time was different. The service was great, the atmosphere was great, but the food has changed a bit. In particular, the chicken saltimboca wasn't anything like you'd expect. There was a very small amount of chicken drenched in a marsala wine sauce with two shriveled up pieces of prosciutto thrown on the plate as an afterthought. Really didn't resemble any other saltimboca dish you've ever seen and tasted horrible. Not sure what else they do poorly nowadays, but we won't be going back to find out. read more

My favorite restaurant in Rhode Island. Every visit has been excellent. I got hooked on this place when a friend of mine had me try their risotto... best risotto ever! Besides their delicious risotto, there are several other favorites including their Vodka Penne, Vodka Pizza, and their Polpette (giant meatball). It's not on their regular menu but they usually also have a Filet Mignon special, their steak is also cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth. As great as the food is, they also have a fantastic drink menu with plenty of martini and sangria specials. I love Siena so much that I chose to propose to my girlfriend at their Smithfield location a few months back. read more
