Generally okay if the item you want is in stock... But I would strongly advise against ordering anything that is "due in a few weeks" and I definitely wouldn't recommend using a Cyclescheme voucher. The communication and aftercare when things go wrong is absolutely abysmal. I ordered £3k of bike and accessories. One of the components was due in a couple of weeks, the rest was in stock. I received an email that my bike build had been booked in and was given a delivery date for my bike. The delivery date came and went. No communication at all. I contacted Sigma to be told that the component had been delayed. Only because I chased was the rest of my order sent. A couple of months passed by. No communication at all. I contacted Sigma only to be told that the component had been delayed further - by a whole year. The delay might not be their fault, but the lack of communication is. Because I ordered on the cycle to work scheme a refund was not possible. And instead was told I had £379 store credit. In the meantime I'd made an order for cash so asked if they'd be able to refund and apply some of my store credit. I was told that someone would contact me to discuss. After a couple of weeks I chased Sigma (again!) to find out how to use my £379 credit as no one contacted me. And I was told that no, they couldn't apply the store credit to my previous order. So I've been messed around, ignored, and have had nothing constructive offered to help with the situation. All I have is store credit to buy some stuff that I don't really need or want. I've been given a hollow apology - but actions speak louder than words. When things go wrong, how a company responds can make the difference between customer loyalty and never using that company again. Worst customer support ever. Made an order - after like 5 days they shipped ( or at least provided tracking number). That tracking number was only show up as tracking info received without actual package. After a week or more without any movement i contacted them and they was looking into it for another 2 weeks without any replied. Than i contacted them in chat and they told its lost and asked what i want reship or refund. I said reship and 5 days later contacted again them and they wasnt aware about reship and said will contact me again. And they just refunded me in the end instead of reship without asking. Sigma Sports is quite a beautiful shop, kind of like the nightclub of sports shops. I doubt there's many places in London with a better range of tri gear, and so I'd say it's worth the trek (plus it's right next to delightful Kingston where you can do a whole load of other shopping/riverfront enjoyment while you're at it). Customer service is excellent, they've got loads of knowledge and helpful staff to advise you and not make fun of the fact you are buying a tri suit the day before the race. I was really happy with the suit I got - they guy insisted I try about 8 on and explained their pros and cons which was reassuring considering they are quite expensive. It showed how useful trying the gear on is that one make fit well in size L but I eventually bought another brand size S! Sigma Sports is a cyclist paradise with more bikes, parts, and gear than you could ever want (although it's tempting to think of that as a challenge). Arranged over two floors, the entire ground floor is devoted to hardware whereas the top floor holds clothing as well as a Triathlon section. It's not usual for 90% of the customers to be decked out in lycra with a cycle (primarily road bikes) in tow and the store welcomes you dragging your cycle around with you (how else will you know what you want to upgrade?). The staff are very knowledgeable and there is a pretty high staff to customer ratio so you know you can be in and out in a flash. Pretty good thinking since I don't want to be spending the day there, just get what I need and get back to putting some miles on the bike! I went it for a tri-suit fitting and the triathlon guy helped me with getting the damn thing on (quite hard when you don't know what you are doing) and even suggested I bring the suit I had bought online to the store and he'd make sure it was the right one for me. That's customer service...even when you aren't a customer of theirs! The store stocks all major brands and some I've never heard of but imagine to be of top quality given the company they keep. That being said, all this isn't cheap and you pay for the quality and selection. If you want a bargain buy while you potter around the city, I'd recommend Evans or Cycle Surgery. But if you are looking to up your game and get some proper kit, there are few places better than Sigma Sports. read more

25 days old, 6 rides for a total of just 270km and they are wearing away. Apparently that is natural wear and perfectly acceptable. It's not. I'm not an idiot, I've been riding a bike for a long time (way before Sigma Sports came into existence). I won't be buying from them again, my previous two bikes have been purchased through them but poor quality and dreadful customer service like this means I will no longer trust their products. read more

What a brilliant shop! I came in here in search of a pretty simple part that all the other bike shops in Kingston didn't stock (3mm headset spacer). Within around 30 seconds I was presented with 5 different options all in different materials and colours! The fuzzy haired chap in the workshop was very helpful, running around the shop to bring together the different options for me to choose from and was very patient when I made him bring out a steel rule to measure the thickness of the spacers to make sure I had the right one. Overall a polite, speedy service and was made to feel welcome from the moment I entered the shop. I would give 6 stars if I could. read more

I'd like to love this shop as the content is very good, but my experience of a few of the staff and customer service is just awful. I went back to return a pair of shoes and they were far from helpful. The young guy serving kinda grunted and didn't engage at all. This was followed by the older manager who was pretty much the same. Unfortunately I have to agree wholeheartedly with previous reviewers A.v and brent p. I am 50 years old experienced road cyclist. I initially enquired with Sigma Sport about Campagnolo Super Record 11 prices.They quoted me almost £600 more for the groupset than their nearest street retailer competitor. At the end I bought from them Campagnolo Shamal Ultra 2011 wheelset. After few months of light use these wheels developed creeking noises around the aluminium "nipples". Brought them to Sigma Sport to be checked and trued if necessary. Got them back latter in the day after being told by the mechanic that he "adjusted tension on them, they are ok now". After quick inspection of the wheels I noticed to my horror that the mechanic twisted almost all the bladed spokes out of shape/straight line. One of them so severly, there was no other option but to replace it, as it couldn't be straightened (about 2 weeks wait for replacement spoke). Was told by Workshop Manager to put those wheels on my Cervélo bike and ride it (?). Same day I raised the issue with R. D. - Senior Sales, who in turn brought back J. T. - Sigma Sport co-owner. J. T. clearly annoyed, eventually said: "I better give you your money back otherwise this will run and run", then took the rear wheel to the mechanic to remove the cassette, which was still attached to it. Mechanic took to the task with such skill and attention to detail that he damaged the "lockring" on the £250 SR11 cassette. I pointed the damage to J. T. who now looked at me with visible anger. Following morning I brought back to the shop Campagnolo quick release skewers (which formed original part of that wheelset) I forgot to bring on the previous day. On my way out I was approached by R. D. who told me in the strict, angry tone, pointing his finger at me, that: "J.T. told me to tell you not to come to this shop again". Needless to say neither me nor my bike will be coming back. Appalling customer service, rude on the phone and could not spare any time in the shop to discuss gear with someone new to the sport. I think they are only interested in people spending 1000's of pounds! Would avoid at all unless you don't need any kind of customer service. read more

Having started to take my cycling a bit more seriously other than my work commute. I decided I needed some comfortable lycra, helmet, cleats and shoes. Popped over to Kingston Upon Thames shop, lots of high end and mid range helmets, helmets you need to try on. Answered my anxieties on cleats and shoes. Tried on some Assos / Gore cycling shorts, went for Assos. Not that much more than their online competitors, their experience and knowledge were worth the little extra. I really like the new store and the range of products and services is unbeatable. I recently bought a new bike there, feeling nervous about such an expensive purchase and not knowing that much about what I was looking for, but the staff without fail were really friendly, helpful and not at all intimidating - despite the reputation they have for just being for serious cyclists. I think the women's range of clothes is great and the only drawback is that it is very easy to spend lots of money there! read more

This used to be a really good bike shop and in some ways it still is. Since moving in to the current shop, the plot seems to have been lost a bit. Service is no longer top notch and there's an air of distain on the part of the staff team particularly the owners when they bother to appear. It has all got a lot more expensive than it was and there are other options which are cheaper. Go and look by all means but then go home and buy on line where you can. read more
