We were a little concerned we might not be able to drink and…read moreparty because it's split with a neighbor but drinking and partying is definitely the majority of what's happening here on midsommar. It's probably different on other weekends... Our neighbors were all older and I'm sure we must have annoyed them but they seemed friendly towards us when we saw them each time and we never heard them anyways. I think it's a little cheap that for a cabin for 8 for 3 days they gave us 2 rolls of toilet paper and no hand soap but there was enough general supplies to clean up at least. The other stuff we had to buy at their store... The weather was really bad for us but there is a good sized beach and appeared to be lots of trails in the woods. Can't comment on the "sommarland" part, the closest we came was playing mini golf (which is fairly bad here but then who really cares and as an American I might be used to some over the top mini golf spots). The staff was really eyes closed to all the drinking (which was great for midsommar) but at the same time people didn't do anything overly dumb or annoying besides loud music and tons of drinking of course so it didn't require a heavy hand from them. Hope it stays that way -- and don't take my review to mean you should/can come here and be drunk jerks. Supposedly they don't rent to people under 25 to try and keep the destructive drinkers at bay thou the last night we were woken up to 2 girls literally trying to break in our front door and screaming like banchees running around the house and ringing our doorbell 70 times. They eventually tried to crawl in through my bedroom window (which I think was basically impossible) and at this point we started talking through the window (i was in a half alive state in bed and only woke up at door bell ring #67) and they became somewhat normal. Whoever Mark Jacobasson is (the house they thought they were trying to get into), they really wanted to make his night ^^ anyways people definitely drink a lot in leksand so be prepared and up to it haha. Bring your own sanitizing and toilet paper supplies and you'll have a really fun midsommar here. Oh and one other thing, if you don't have a car be prepared to take a taxi from town because while it is walkable and we had to when we left, its a bit far. 180 sek got 6 people from town to the campsite and we did that multiple times. This is a combination of a hotel, loges, a campsite and a bowling. There's also a restaurant on the…read moresite. I stayed in the hotel 3 nights with my family, so the hotel the main focus of this review. The site where the facilities are located is simply wonderful, with it's lake and forest. Specially with snow the site is great. The parking spot in front of the hotel has electrical connections for your car heater. There's enough room on the parking area and it's close to the hotel. Getting luggage from your car to the hotel is no big thing. The hotelrooms are a little small and look descent, no old 'garbage' furniture. The beds are very good, box-springs. Even for me, taller than the average Sweed, the size of the beds is OK. We had a room with 2 separated beds next to each other. A third bed for our daughter was also in the room, as we asked for. On the floor was laminate. In the room are plenty of wall outlets. Charging a phone, tablet, or electrical toothbrush is easy. The room also has a TV. The breakfast buffet is very good. Lots of choice in bread, yoghurt, exotic fruits, fruit juices and of course coffee and tea. The hotel, including the breakfast, is child friendly. Not only baby-seats for the breakfast, but also napkins, and plastic milk cups show that kids are welcome. I first thought of giving this review 4 stars, but there are some negative aspects as well. When I tried to clean some water that we spoiled on the floor, it turned out that the floor was very dirty, the cleaning paper was really black immediately! I expect the floor to be cleaned now and then. The beds and towels are not cleaned/replaced daily. They just skipped our room during cleaning. Specially since we paid around 2700 SEK for 3 nights, I really expect more regarding cleaning. To summarize, it's a great family hotel with lots of handy facilities, in a wonderful site. The cleaning is not what you would expect for this price.

Hotel is pretty but our double rooms 41&42 were really poorly planned with wardrobe blocking when entering, feeling a bit like claustrophobic in the rooms and if you take a shower room gets boiling hot. Paper thin walls, think the guy in room 43 had a sever nightmare yesterday. Smell of cigarette smoke as soon as someone took a break even though windows were close. Best thing with the hotel to avoid a 2 star was that they have a small pretty cozy spa. There's separate saunas and two jacuzzis a baby-pool (I think) and a small 12x4m pool with a water jet for swimming lessons. Breakfast was ok, a little bit better than average. Bartender was going to mix a espresso martini, he just took a hot espresso and a shot vodka and thought well, here you go. safe bet is a local beer or a rhum.
