Called to make my next appointment with Joey only to find out he was going on vacation for a month. It had been 8 weeks since my last cut so I took a chance on whoever was available at Westover, based on Yelp reviews. I walked in, waited less than 5 minutes, and got Vito. No muss, no fuss, very old school. Reminded me of when I was a kid. Loved it and paid exactly what I would have paid driving crosstown.

Looking for a local barbershop I came across Altered Image, I called before coming in an hour in advance, was told that they had barbers available anytime no appointment was necessary. They took my brother, paid a ridiculous $30+$10 (TIP) for his shape-up, but again, I support it They, then told me at 10:30AM they could get me in the chair by 11:30AM. Already I'm thinking, an hour wait and there are FOUR barbers sitting down texting and chatting not working at all? FINE. I waited the hour plus more. 11:50AM someone ELSE comes in and gets sat in front of me. At this point i said, I've been here for almost two hours now with an appt for 11:30 and people are still walking in and sitting in front of me? They just allow you to wait in their lobby and ignore you until you don't have a choice but to get up and to somewhere else! GO TO ANY OTHER BARBERSHOP! They will get you in right away and treat you GREAT! This barbershop will have you wait HOURS, IGNORE YOU, All while they sit on their phones to make sure their wives aren't cheating on them back at their studio apartments. Pathetic. Sad story for a small business. Side note. If this barbershop is the ONLY option that you have, do not get sat in the females chair, she will butcher your hair for practice.

I stopped by late in the afternoon this past Wednesday, right before closing and was quickly greeted by Nick Love, who gave a phenomenal cut, thank heavens! I appreciated Nick's attention to detail. If you plan to patronize Colosi's you'll have to pay close attention to the signage in the small plaza where they are located, since the plaza itself looks a little lifeless since their next-door neighbor (the Hi-Lo smoke shop) has closed. I said whatever works the best. She asked if I wanted a 5 or 6. I replied I have no idea what that means. So for the last 35 years my hair has been at least 6 inches long on top with sides tapering. She cut it to about 3" max on top AND 1/2 INCH ON THE SIDES! She used a shaver with a depth clip and just buzzed it off. Good thing my fist visit was free. She didn't even blow the cut hairs off me.
