I specifically explained when scheduling the appointment that this was not simply a routine visit. My OBGYN referred me for a CT scan on JULY 16th due to dysfunctional bleeding and persistent lower-left abdominal pain, but because of my insurance requirements, I needed to establish with a PCP in order to obtain the necessary referral. I made all of this VERY clear when I scheduled. Despite the urgency, I waited the five weeks. I also took a HALF DAY OFF FROM WORK and lost wages in order to attend this appointment. When I arrived, the receptionist told me I did not have an appointment. I immediately showed her my appointment confirmation. At that point, the explanation suddenly changed: now I supposedly DID have an appointment, but it had been "rescheduled." I told her very clearly that I NEVER rescheduled it. Then the story changed AGAIN. She claimed she had called me on August 27th. I pulled out my phone and checked my call history and voicemails. Nothing. Then she claimed she had emailed me. I pulled up my email. I have several emails from this practice, but conveniently, NOT ONE informing me that my appointment had been canceled or needed to be rescheduled. Then, unbelievably, she claimed she had called me FROM HER PERSONAL CELL PHONE. She began rapidly scrolling through her own call history trying to find evidence that she had contacted me. She couldn't. She then checked the office phone. Again, she couldn't locate a call to me. At that point, she claimed the office phone "only logs calls for 24 hours," despite the fact that I could literally see older calls displayed on the phone. At this point, the issue was no longer simply a scheduling mistake. Mistakes happen. What was completely unacceptable was watching the explanation repeatedly change every time I was able to demonstrate that the previous explanation wasn't true. No appointment...appointment was rescheduled ... we called you ...we emailed you ... I called you from my personal cell ...the office phone doesn't keep the records. Which one is it? I was then told I could "have a seat" while she waited to speak with her manager. When I directly asked whether I was actually going to be seen by the doctor that day, the answer was NO. I was then told they could "accommodate" me the following day. That is NOT accommodating a patient. Accommodating me would have been recognizing that YOUR OFFICE apparently mishandled my scheduled appointment, that I had confirmation of the appointment, that I had waited five weeks, that I had taken unpaid time away from work, and that I was trying to obtain follow-up care for an unresolved medical issue dating back to JULY 16TH -- and finding a way to make it right. Telling me to lose additional time from work and come back another day because of YOUR scheduling problem is not an accommodation. What makes this even worse is that I had difficulty with this SAME receptionist when I initially tried to schedule the appointment. I overlooked that experience because I needed a PCP and was willing to give the practice a chance. Clearly, that was a mistake. I can tolerate an administrative error. What I cannot tolerate is being given one explanation after another as each previous explanation falls apart, particularly when I am standing there with the appointment confirmation, my call history, my voicemail, and my emails in front of me. Patients entrust medical practices with their HEALTH. At the absolute minimum, they should be able to expect basic professionalism, accurate scheduling, accountability when an error occurs, and honest communication. Instead, after waiting FIVE WEEKS, delaying an already-needed medical referral, and losing wages to attend the appointment, I left without ever seeing a physician. If this is how a brand-new patient is treated before they even make it into an exam room, I have absolutely no confidence in how this office manages actual patient care. I would NEVER recommend this practice based on my experience.

However, they have been under new management for a couple of months. All the previous providers have left the practice. I was never notified that my provider left the practice. In fact, photographs of my former provider and others are still on the webpage, so how was I to know they left? I never received a phone call or a letter in the mail. I found out about this recently when my insurance request requested a prior authorization. I went to their new website, and my provider wasn't listed. So I called to ask about this. The first time I called and the phone rang forever with no one picking up the phone. When I was finally able to get through, a young lady answered the phone. I told her about my situation with the prior authorization and she told me that my provider was no longer there. I was told that I had to come in and see a new provider and when I asked why , I was told have a nice day and then hung up on. I wasn't rude; I just had questions, like who my new provider is and why they need me to come in, since I just had an exam two months earlier. And I don't know why, but they called me back 10 minutes later and said they suddenly had an appointment for me the next morning. So I came in to see what was going on. My new provider was very young and I'm not sure how much experience they had. While they were nice, she informed me of the new policies. For example, they began charging for blood draws in the office that had previously been free. It was $35, and now it's down to $15; otherwise, I have to go to another location to have my blood drawn. They put an order for me to have my blood work drawn, even though I just had it drawn 6 to 8 weeks. I asked for a prior authorization which I was told they would do, but after two weeks, I went to my pharmacy and they said they never received one. The front desk used to be helpful, but recently when I went in, everybody was sitting around in a circle talking to each other, pretty much ignoring that I was there. This used to be a very warm, friendly practice that put the patient's needs first. Now, it seems this new management is very business-oriented, looking for ways to make more money at the expense of providing good customer service and focusing on my healthcare needs. I am now leaving this practice, which makes me sad. I feel very sorry for older people who go there. They probably don't know who their provider is anymore and will have to start over with a new provider from the beginning. It's hard to find a good medical practice for your routine healthcare these days, especially in Boca Raton, where everybody is moving towards concierge service. I wouldn't be surprised if this place goes out of business in the next year.

He also had his receptionist slam the receptionist window in my face because I asked them to wear a respirator in an ongoing airborne pandemic. The receptionists also threatened to call the police on me because I asked for a letter saying he was refusing to do the examination for disability and refusing accessible accommodations. This is the only time I have ever reported a medical healthcare worker to the Florida Dept of Health as well as the AMA. This is not a doctor that should be allowed to practice and should never be assigned to vulnerable immune compromised patients from the social security disability office. I was thankfully assigned a different doctor for my evaluation who did mask with their staff and was the exact opposite of this office. I would say run away but if you are disabled then get out of there as soon as you are physically able to do so. Never ever go here. If I could give a negative review I would of below zero I would.
