We had a great experience at Silver Diner in Fredericksburg, VA, and the reason it's a five-star visit is 100% because of our waitress, Liberty. The food was good -- enjoyable, but not mind-blowing -- and I'll also mention the dining room was a bit loud, so if you're looking for a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, just keep that in mind. That said, Liberty was absolutely incredible. She was professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. Our drinks stayed filled, she checked in at the perfect times, and everything felt smooth and taken care of without ever being intrusive. It's rare to get service that polished. Liberty is the type of employee who deserves real recognition -- a raise or a promotion wouldn't surprise me at all. Five stars because of her. We'll be back, and we'll be asking for Liberty again. read more

Quick Snap: I love the enjoying the retro vibe of Silver Diner. I go for the excellent cuisine. Customer Service has been amazing each of the three times I was there. I've been able to enjoy the new Silver Diner of Fredericksburg 3 times. Twice with my husband for brunch and once with a friend after a late movie. I've tried the gluten free BLT and the "Smash-burger". Both were extremely tasty. I even ordered the smash-burger twice. But my favorite item from the Silver Diner menu is their hot chocolate. It's warm, rich and feels like a hug. I can highly suggest this farm to table, local chain and I can especially recommend this location. The managers are artists it shows in the quality of the food and also the great attitudes of the staff. Bravo! read more

I was excited last night for the chance to go to Silver Diner. I grew up loving the old diners up North--the stainless steel that shined like a freshly waxed Airstream, the booths you could disappear in, and enough gleaming glass to make you feel like you were eating inside a jukebox. I remember the flavors from the diners along Highway 1 and 301 as my family made that long haul between Rhode Island and South Carolina. Those places could fry a piece of fish so good you'd slap your mama and ask for seconds. So naturally, I thought that's what I was getting as we walked in the door. We were met with a smile and seated fast. Everything looked clean and bright. Our server appeared in about three seconds--so quick I thought maybe he'd been sitting in the booth behind us waiting for his cue. Drinks were ordered and life was good. The bride ordered fish and chips with a side salad--Thousand Island on the side. When the food arrived, the dressing didn't. Our server said he didn't hear her ask for it. I ordered a hamburger and onion rings. I got a hamburger and fries. He said he didn't hear me either. Now look... I wear two hearing aids and tend to talk like I'm hollering instructions across a construction site. If I order onion rings, most people on the next block know about it. But somehow, the one man who needed to hear it did not. The burger was just okay. The fries tasted slightly better than McDonald's but looked like they'd been studying under them. The bride's fish was so over-breaded and stiff that I wasn't sure if she should eat it or shingle the roof with it. It had that "kept warm for a couple of hours" crunch that no one in the history of fried fish has ever asked for. Ahhh well. You can never go home. But you can go to Silver Diner--once read more

First time we have been here.. always packed on weekends! KAIT was our server and a great personality, and I always had a smile. She even had time for a small conversation. Our food was ordered precisely delivered. It was nice and hot even up till the ice cream on the apple pie.. the bathroom was very clean. Usually when I go to this Silver Diner, I have a nice/chill experience. Yesterday, I went in around like 9:00 with my friend & we had an incredibly rude server. Not sure if she had a bad night or something (im a server myself, I get that), but she just treated us like a second thought & even ignored me at one point when I tried to ask a question about the menu. On top of that, when we were heading out, the manager stopped us and asked what was up and kinda made a little scene (mind you that same server came and stood there like she wanted to say something). Weird & unprofessional. Hire better staff (not the host though, she was an angel). read more

Now that I am local to the area I have dined at this restaurant several times for breakfast and lunch and always enjoy the experience. Service is usually very good but the food is always excellent. The variety of options and the menu and the focus on local-ish ingredients is appreciated. The non-dairy "milkshakes" are a standout especially the minty grasshopper which I highly recommend. While this location is meant to look like an old-fashioned diner, some of the other locations lean even further into the retro style. For example some locations have a jukebox with the table side consoles while this one does not. read more

The food was very disappointing bacon was burnt to crisp , potatoes had more onions than potatoes , the biscuit was so small I should have ordered toast . For some reason the egg whites were folded under the yoke and not completely cooked.The menu was very very limited and nothing like the normal weekly menu. Kendyll was amazing. Super attentive, great with recommendations, and was willing to work with my picky(snobby) palate. Then, they brought us out chocolate and strawberries as well as our pie for dessert. They were celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary with us. The staff were kind, sweet, and just overall welcoming. Fairly new Silver Diner to this area and expect it'll improve as more ppl gain experience. Service wasn't bad and the food was good. Average experience but not at the level that the other 3 I've visited in NoVA/MD. The manager for one announced to his staff that member was a no call - no show (fair) and proceeded w you know what happens to their job. While not a bad message to communicate but not infront of customers as he was at the bar area making the statement. Then there were a couple of servers who decided it a good idea to eat food a customer returned at the bar area. Again, why waste food but maybe this isn't something you do in front of customers. Probably a bunch of new people to food industry and maybe their staffing model is "hire who we can until we can hire who we want" I like Silver Diner and glad they are here but the professionalism and service will need to increase for me to continue to patronize. This is a lovely new addition to the area, reminiscent of the diners of my misspent youth in NJ. But classier. First, I like the layout and decor tho the big screens over the bar depress me - great diners aren't sports bars. They inspire conversation, a mix of generations and cultures, not glassy eyed screen staring. So I ask for a booth far from the screaming screens (even with sound off they blare these days). Anyway, service is pro and friendly, helpful, and the menu is broad and wide in choices. Everything I've ordered - bfast/brunch - has been good, and I'd like to try more of their options, like lunch and dinner. The access to the location can be tricky because it's right off Rt 3, but with a little practice I found the back way in via Central Park. And don't expect cheapo prices - this is a quality diner! read more

Came in to celebrate an Occasion. 32 years ago someone said I do...not me but I digress. Came to have a small celebration with Ms Benning. Our server was amazing, in fact--the whole staff was amazing. So many people involved with the experience. They have such an expanded beverage menu. Had one of their hand crafted sodas--guava ginger ale. Ms Benning had the SD Mule...I also had a couple of sips. Our waiter was kind to inform us of seasonal bites thank you...of course had to get the short rib!! So tender and melts in your mouth WOW!!! Sarah got the chicken pot pie and wow was it incredible...not your typical but nonetheless WOW. WOW!!!! Ended the night with some chocolate cake. Celebrating here was the best!! Visiting from Florida. Found this spot on a whim. Pulled in to the parking lot at was greeted by the welcoming committee, a flock of geese. Walked in & it smelled delicious. Loved the decor. We were seated immediately. The hostess was really pleasant. Our server was Megan. She was great! She has a genuine smile & was engaged with us in conversation. She answered all our questions. My husband had the Creekstone Farms Flat Iron Steak & Eggs. I had the Creekstone Farms Hanger Steak & Eggs. Our steaks were cooked to perfection! They recently opened this new Silver Diner in Central Park so we stopped in for breakfast on a weekday morning. We got there soon before the morning rush (it was a holiday weekday, so everybody was off work). Service was very friendly and polite. The menu is the same as the other locations. Coffee was hot and fresh. My breakfast, their Philly steak omelete was really good. The breakfast potatoes that came with it were very bland and boring. Since it came with a biscuit, I asked for a small side of sausage gravy. The biscuit was excellent and clearly made in-house. The sausage gravy had a really nice flavor - those two definitely worked great together! My wife got their pancakes and eggs. She doesn't care much for eggs, but liked the eggs much more than the pancakes. I tasted them and they seemed boring, like they were missing something and they were dry. They definitely needed more butter and richness to them. Overall - Not a bad visit... perhaps lunch will be better. read more

This is a wonderful place to catch a delicious meal, or in my case today, dessert with your daughter after hectic last minute holiday shopping. Server, Dalton, took good care of us, helped us modify our milkshakes into vegan strawberry shakes w almond milk whip topping, checked on us regularly, had great energy and hit us w that million watt smile every time. I have only been to a Silver Diner once before, and greatly disliked my food. Once I was informed that it's been completely redone over the last few years or so, I decided to try the new one in central park. The only negative I have regarding this experience, was the host. He was not rude, but when I told him it would be one (just me! ) he was like .... so did you want to sit at the bar? Looking at the bar, I saw no stools, so I was confused. I told him I guess that'd be fine and he responded that I don't have to sit at the bar it's my choice and it's fine. I was like I mean I don't mind sitting at the bar... but like I don't see any seats. He was like oh you just go down a bit and there are seats on either end. Cool. Sure! Silence. Soooo...? Do I seat myself? He said yup! And went back to looking at whatever he was looking at bahahaha. The bartender helping me was Jhonathan, and he was lovely. Attentive but not overbearing. Did not rush me. Gave me honest opinions on the food. I ordered the protein pancakes -- and let me day I go not typically like pancakes -- but they were delightful! Pistachio and blueberries all throughout, and instead of maple syrup it came with agave syrup. I was a bit shocked to see in the menu that maple syrup was a three dollar upcharge, wtf?? Luckily the agave was perfect! I came in with my laptop and did a bit of work and jhonathan cleared my dirty dishes and let me stay for a while, unbothered! I'll finely go back! We finally got around to trying the new Silver Diner location in FXBG. We went on a Tuesday evening during dinner, three weeks before Christmas. My husband and I used to live in Northern Virginia, and have had breakfast and dinner at other Silver Diner locations before, but it's been awhile. We wanted to wait to try this location, because we've read mixed reviews, and wanted to give them a chance to work out the kinks. The location is ideal in Central Park, just off of the interstate. Parking is off street parking, with no parking garage, no fees, and plentiful. The restaurant is handicap accessible. It is bright, new, clean, and retro, giving it a warm welcoming atmosphere. Upon entering, the hostess was on the phone, but someone else rushed over to seat us. She did not greet us, or ask how many were in our party (what if we were expecting more guests to join us?). She did not ask our seating preference. She simply grabbed two menus, and lead us to a small booth near the bar area. She ran through the specials very very quickly; uncomfortably quick, to the point that she sounded robotic. She proceeded to run by that our server would be with us "in a minute", and walked off. She seemed somewhat "rude" and aloof, not making eye contact. Our server then made contact quickly. He was friendly and polite. We ordered iced waters to drink. Our glasses were sparkling clean! He attempted to take our order upon returning with our water, but we needed a minute. From there, it was some time before he returned again. We were more than ready by this point (our menus were closed and we were sitting there obviously ready), and we suspected that he'd forgotten about us. My husband ordered the Chicken tenders platter with fries and slaw, and I ordered the Summertime Cod entree from the "under 600 calories" section. It's described as "Wild caught Icelandic cod over quinoa and pomegranate, grilled tomatoes, roasted asparagus, and a garlic lemon sauce". It's $25.99 with 467 calories and 41g of protein. The food was very slow coming out, but when it did come out, it was hot! My husband said that his tenders were juicy and plentiful, but that he wouldn't order them again (honestly, I don't know why he ordered the most basic entree from the menu, when there are so many different and unique availabilities, but that's usually his 'go to'). My entree however was absolutely divine! The cod was tender and flaky, and the entire meal was bursting with flavor. It was fresh, and not lacking in anything. It was one of the best dishes that I've had in a restaurant in awhile. I would definitely order this again, but I'm so excited to try their other dishes (the grilled salmon, the grilled sea scallops, and the Ancient Grain Shrimp Bowl, which was Quinoa, farro, fresh burrata, roasted tomatoes, greens, Kalamata olives, watermelon radish, sunflower seeds, microgreens, and pesto vinaigrette); they all had my eye! Service was slow, despite the fact that it was a Tuesday evening and the restaurant wasn't swamped, but steady. However we weren't in a hurry. Be mindful of the timing issue though if you are in a rush. We were greeted a couple of times by management during our visit "coming and going". The atmosphere was festive, clean, and refreshing (my husband said that he felt like we were in Northern Virginia again). Restroom was very clean. Prices are a little higher than a lot of other diners in the area, but definitely worth it for what you receive. Much of their menu is locally sourced, non GMO. They have a nice selection of vegan and vegetarian options and gluten free. They have a full bar with red and white wines, bottled or canned beers (imported and domestic), cocktails and mimosas. Only one star off for service. In addition to our hostess not being friendly, our server failed to keep our beverages refilled, didn't check on us, and then we sat waiting for our check for an overly lengthy time. Still giving them the benefit of the doubt with new staff training. If they can get their staff up to par, this could very well become one of our rotation places to dine. read more

My wife and I celebrated my recent birthday at the Fredericksburg Silver Diner this past Saturday, 12/13/25. We were there around 2:30 pm in the afternoon and the restaurant wasn't crowded. I ordered the Flat Iron Steak, well done, which came with crispy onion straws, mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. My wife ordered Grilled Fresh Salmon which came with yellow brown rice, edamame beans and fresh vegetables. Our waiter, Dalton, was friendly and attentive. Our food was ready quickly. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. For a dessert, we shared the Double-Chocolate Triple-Layer Cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The meal was wonderful. Well I finally was able to make a visit since it open. This restaurant is located in Central Park next to AAA, just off 95 on a corner lot. Theres plenty parking with other businesses. As you walk in, you are greeted with friendly staff and get that feeling of a diner but in a sleek modern way. It has an open kitchen concept, a bar and a sunroom. I ordered 5 items: 1) Mozzarella, spinach and artichoke egg rolls 2) Burrata bruschetta 3) Skewered shrimp bibimbap 4) Country scrambler 5) Coconut cake. The egg rolls were delicious and crispy, it was served with a cup of marinara topped with shredded parmesan. The burrata bruschetta arrived to the table with toasted sourdough bread, fresh creamy burrata topped with micro- greens and a mixture of tomato, balsamic and sunflower seeds. When you incorporate all ingredients together, you wouldn't be able just to take one bite. It is a must item to get, very refreshing and delicious. The country scrambler, I wasn't expecting it to be served in an oval skillet dish. It also was served with a cup of fresh fruit (not canned); 2 small pancakes and a small pitcher of syrup. The mixture in the skillet was sausage, egg, portobello mushrooms, onions, diced green peppers, home fries and topped with jack cheddar. The menu stated sausage gravy but the ratio was too much of the green peppers and sausage. If there was gravy then it would have been moist instead of dry. The fresh fruit was juicy and very good. The small pancakes were too thin and dry. The shrimp skewers were confusing. Was it supposed to be grilled because it was on a stick or was it for the appearance? It tastes like it was steamed, then brush with the citrus glazed and sprinkle with coconut flakes. It was serve on a bed of wild rice and incorporated with multiple vegetables such as green onions, leeks, mushrooms, red radish, red cabbage in a moat of curry broth. The rice was fluffy but there was too much vegetables which overpowered the whole dish. The combination of eating the shrimp and rice together was okay. The curry was smooth and delicious. The coconut layered cake was light, airy and delicious. The menu was revamp into a little upscale style with casual dining experience. My server J was attentive, friendly, humorous and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself was clean with some decor. I wouldn't mind returning to try other items on the menu. read more

We waited almost 10 minutes to get a server to our table. This negates everybody else's quick service situation. Right now I'm looking at eight servers and 5 managers all standing around a bar in front of the kitchen not doing anything. This is par for the course for silver diner. I got a patty melt and the cheese wasn't melted at all. The burger is cooked nicely. My wife got Calfs liver and onions. She started with the corn chowder which was as thin as anything coming out of a faucet. Her liver is why people Don't generally eat liver. It's shoe leather. Amazing diner. It is an upscale diner, so therefore the prices are naturally more than any crappy cheap diner. They have AMAZING vegan options, and we were delighted to find out that the Just Eggs Benedict is back!! It was their second day open, and it was very busy, but despite that, the service was on point. Out waitress was awesome, and friendly. For our apps we had the hummus plate, and the Avocado toast. For our entrees, my husband had the Impossible meat tacos, I had the Just eggs benedict. The food is high in quality, and worth every penny. Best Silver Diner experience we have had. Please keep it up guys. People moaning about prices, you get what you pay for. We were delightfully surprised by the totally revamped menu at the Central Park Silver Diner. There were really interesting items, and the staff was so friendly! I had the high protein pancakes with pistachios and non-dairy whipped cream. My husband had pancakes and eggs and was very pleased. The manager came over to apologize for not having liver today. She even offered us a free appetizer for the inconvenience. Now, let's talk about the food. First, we started off with the spinach dip egg rolls. To our surprise, they were delicious. You must like cheese and spinach dip of course. I highly recommend them. We also ordered the shrimp quesadilla. Oh my gosh, it was so good. It has shrimp, Tasso ham, andouille, peppers, arugula and cheese. I wasn't sure about the arugula. The quesadilla had the right amount of each ingredient. I recommend the shrimp quesadilla too. We also tried the SKEWERED SHRIMP BIBIMBAP. You must like curry for this dish. It is a little spicy, but very tasty. Another great menu item. We ended with an Oreo milkshake. I love Tillamook ice cream. You get a lot of milkshake. It was enough to share. My family went in for lunch, this was literally the worst food I have ever eaten, initially I thought it was just my food, I had a chicken sandwich, the chicken was under cooked or spoiled, either way it was slimy & tasted awful, I couldn't eat it. My daughter had the wings which were over cooked & dry, the grands would only eat the fries from their lunch not the entree.. this was truly disappointing after waiting nearly 40 min for our food, always fun with a hungry 2 & 4yr old.
