What we liked: Just about everything about our room on the way east. We were fortunate enough to stay in the limited number of rooms with both inside and outside entrances. If you are a big family or just have a lot of luggage be sure to ask for a room with an outside entrance. The rooms are clean and odour free. They had everything we wanted or expected. The room on the second night, or the return trip had a queen rather than king bed and no outside entrance, but it was bigger with a sofa. The rooms both had microwaves and a small fridge. The second room TV had Roko (is that the right spelling) so there were lots of stations to watch on the TV: it's a big TV too. We liked the larger bottles of shampoo and soap as there's much less waste as compared to the disposable type usually found in hotels. We both got a bagged continental style breakfast. The breakfast included a croissant with ham and cheese, a small yogurt and your choice of an apple or orange. This might change when the pandemic is over so if you are reading this in the post pandemic future please consider leaving a review to provide an update on the breakfast situation. Speaking of the pandemic, they seemed to take it very seriously. They have WiFi. What we didn't like Don't eat in the pub. It's a nice place for a beer so you don't have to drive afterwards but the food is sub-par. There's a separate review in Yelp for the pub so you can read it there. Last night our first room had some loud noise like the water pipe or something odd from in the wall. I might have put up with it but my wife told the front desk about it and they gave us another room a few doors down the hall. It was fine. We also couldn't get the TV to work in the first room but I'm sure it was just a setting somewhere. I can easily recommend staying here for your stop in Swift Current. Tip: after they quote you a price, ask for the Covid-19 special. They gave us quite a discount.

Turns out that was the least of our problems. When we checked in ( I had booked on Expedia) I asked if our room was on the first floor as I could see a flight of stairs and no elevator. I was told no it was on the second floor. I asked if we could have a room on the first floor as I have COPD and stairs are very difficult for me. The desk clerk said that there was an up charge of $30. I again explained that I had difficulty with stairs which is why I needed a first floor room, however, it was clear that we would have to pay the upgrade charge. As this would have made the room cost about $130 for one night. I was not prepared to pay that for one night in that class of hotel in Swift Current at the end of March. I made it up to the room but it took about 15 minutes for my breathing and heart rate to return to normal. I ended up room bound until morning. We had planned on going out for dinner and maybe to the casino. Ended up eating Subway in the room. This is the first time I have ever been told I had to pay more for an accommodation. I will never stay at this hotel chain again. I did email the corporate office on March 31 but as of today haven't heard from them.

Worst Motel I have ever stayed at. Motel only interested in Oil Rig money, not place for anyone else. Definitely not a place to stay if you want to rest. Garbage Motel, I can gurantee you will not get good night rest here. Recomend all persons to go somewhere else. This place is at bottom of garbage barrel.

I'll say that again: we were not paying for the use of a breakfast nook We are a group of middle-aged people who are in no way rowdy and we are paying guests, yet we were told we couldn't stay in the breakfast nook if we didn't pay an hourly rate (we used the room for 45 minutes). Mind you this is not a class A hotel but this is a new level of cheap. We normally stay at Hilton properties or IHG (Holiday inn express) properties but they were all booked up. So we figured we would give Wyndham properties a chance. Our mistake... We have stayed in over 70 properties this year alone. To say we are used to the workings of a hotel is an understatement . But we have never even once thought that a breakfast nook would be rented out let alone not allow paying guests to sit in it during the evening. This super 8 has got to be the cheapest property I have ever encountered. Collectively during this 4 day stay our group has paid over $2000 in lodging here. And since this is an annual visit, those dollars are most definitely going elsewhere next year. I can guarantee you this, we will not be back to this "hotel".

Across the highway was a Super 8, so after stocking up on liquor and snacks (it was a rough day), we checked in. It was a little bit eerie at first, because the placed seemed pretty empty and being in a small town on the side of the highway, we were convinced that we were about to be murdered. Luckily, they had a room ready right away. It was clean, comfortable, and had modern furnishings such as nice linens, a flat screen TV, an iPod dock, and a fridge & microwave. Everything was pretty basic but very adequate. They also offered free WiFi, which was a plus. The only issue I had was that the window would not open! There was also a pool and hot tub on site, but we did not get a chance to check it out. They offered a complimentary breakfast but again, we did not get to see what it was all about. For $100 a night, it's a decent place, although you might be able to find something better in Swift Current for the same price if not less. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I needed to.
